I just checked this book out from the library a few days ago and I'm almost finished with it already. It's very fascinating!
The story begins when Alice Lindgren is a child. It follows her through childhood up to her early adulthood, when she meets Charlie Blackwell. He is a politician, and as their relationship grows more serious (The book is called America Wife, after all) the story demonstrates how being the spouse of any public figure can be very demanding and comes with challenges.
Interesting Fact: I was reading up on the author, and apparently this book is a tribute to Laura Bush's life. I don't know how much of it is true and how much of it is fictionalized, but I found that to be interesting. It's not a biography, so I wonder if Laura Bush knows about it?
