History:The daughter of a metalsmith craftsman, she abandoned her father's wants for her and become a harper. Her decision was supported, very grudgingly, by her family. Her father had hoped, with her fascination with the Ancient's metalworking skills, that she would follow in his footsteps and carry on the family's knowledge and Though her dreams seemed fanciful, she worked very hard to become a Harper. She was elated when she finally began to increase in rank, but fell in love with the weyr soon after.

One turn ago, she was sent to entertain at a gather at Benden Hold and met a visiting dragonrider. They struck up a conversation, and before she really knew it, she'd been Searched. Since leaving Harperhall, she has matured a great deal. Though she used to be quite shy, even a bit timid, she has gained the courage to face her destiny, whatever it may be. She has learned patience, and has gained a great deal of confidence. Though she'll never be arrogant, she now has a measure of her own worth, and doesn't think herself down any longer. She will never, at least permanently, return to Harperhall. She has simply changed too much from the girl she used to be.

Description: She has long, straight black hair and light honey brown eyes with green flecks. She is short, delicate, and seems quite girly. She tends toward feminine clothing, but really cares more about the functionality of the garments than its appearance. She is slender and a bit delicate looking, but is sturdier than she looks. She frequently has her hair in disarray, as she doesn't pay much attention to her appearance, but she is a pretty girl nonetheless. She isn't the most beautiful woman in the world, or even the weyr, but she is attractive in her own absentminded way.

Personality:A studious, serious girl, Aoni is facinated by the Ancients and their inventions. She is very musical, and possesses a warm, pleasant voice. She is a vocalist by nature, and has shown great talent for her level of training. She is not by any means the best of harperhall, but she holds her own in competitions of that sort. She plays the harp, guitar, and drums, though her favorite instrument is the harp. She has moderate training in all instruments, as most harpers do, but only possesses particular talent in the three instruments mentioned, and even then she is not as talented at playing as she is in voice. She is serious and kind, on the quiet side, and isn't afraid to get dirty. She enjoys music, books, and knowledge. She is very polite and quite kind. She appears to be a girly girl, but really is more of a tomboy. This perception of her is fueled by her feminine attire and love of perfume and other feminine things, but truthfully she is much more inclined to spend time with physical exertions than doing her hair and fussing with clothes.

Her greatest flaw is the inability to pay attention to someone for long. She's easily bored and even more easily distracted. All of the sudden a song will come into her mind, or she'll notice something that interests her, and she pretty much forgets anything she had been doing while she goes to take care of whatever had distracted her. It is nearly impossible to get her attention while she is reading a book. She simply doesn't hear people. This sometimes leads to the assumption that she doesn't care what other people are saying, but she really does...she just can't help herself.

Aoni is a personable, amiable girl, and has no difficulty making new friends...unless she gets distracted. If she does, people usually think she is either stupid or self centered, depending. She has a big heart and cares very deeply about the friends she does make. Her habit of being distracted does tend to interfere with her ability to make friends. Wandering off in the middle of a conversation doesn't look good, after all. But her affectionate, caring nature allows the friends she does make to feel like its worth it.

Aoni doesn't like stress. At all. She is a peacemaker at heart, and when someone is arguing she will naturally try to stop it. This has caused her to lose friends in the past, her attempts at making peace taken as preferential treatment towards whichever friend whose side she was attempting to explain.

Constructive criticism, and even nonconstructive criticism to an extent, is taken in stride by Aoni. She is always seeking to improve herself, and listens intently to those who seem to want to help her achieve that goal. Rudeness, however, is not something she appreciates. She is slow to anger, having a tendency to hold her anger in rather than expressing it. This leads to extremely rare spurts of temper, usually with an apology given immediately afterward, usually before they can even respond to her anger.

Her pet peeves include rudeness, bullies, and out of tune musical instruments. Rudeness towards herself, she forgives easily. Rudeness towards her friends or loved ones can earn her hatred for eternity. She is a very loyal girl, and though in day to day life she forgets many things (where she put her hairbrush, to eat, when to change the glowbaskets), she has a mile long memory when it comes to slights to her friends.

Bullies are another unforgivable thing. She was teased as a girl and absolutely cannot stand those who pick on people unable, or unwilling, to defend themselves. Bullies tend to receive a bullying of their own if she catches them. Though not the most physically strong, she does possess a very loud voice which can do a lot of mental damage. When she is angry, she is prone to cussing. (Pernese cussing, of course.)

And finally, out of tune instruments. Ah, what can I say. A friend of hers at harperhall once showed her a storeroom of old instruments. She picked up a guitar and strummed...and oh, by the egg, it was out of tune. She immediately set about tuning it, of course. But then she got to wondering...just how many of the fiddles, guitars, and harps she saw were out of tune? As it turns out, most of them. She was there for days, but when she left every single one of them sounded beautiful.

Other: She has always been captivated by dragons. She has written multiple songs about them, and is particularly fond of golds. She has been fascinated by dragon clutching since she was a young girl, and has always wanted a flit. She has flown between, but only once...on the way to the Weyr from Harperhall. She found it frightening, yet exhilarating. She has always envied dragonriders for their close bonds with their dragons.

Rank: I originally had this character as a 22 year old, actually. Thus the journeyman XD I changed her around a bit because she was a candidate instead of a dragonrider. I apparently forgot to do the math. XD

Personality: I'll definitely add details on the points you mentioned. To answer your question, I meant that she dresses in feminine clothing, but tends to have a tomboyish outlook on life/personality. She likes feminine things (clothing, flowers, perfume), but tends towards practicality and function rather than prettiness. She can enjoy feminine things, and does so frequently, but also enjoys digging in the dirt, physical exercise and sports, etc.

Voice: I actually didn't mean to imply in any way that she was better than, (or even as good as some of) the other harpers. I just meant to say that she had a very nice, pleasant voice. She is a vocalist, though she has a pretty decent talent with harps and drums. (Not as good as her vocals) She definitely isn't the most amazing harper ever, by any means. She's been at the weyr for a while (Though I haven't actually decided how long yet XD) and though she is (now) an advanced apprentice, she certainly hasn't had enough training that she would be the most awesome harper ever.

Trine: ....o.o There is a clutch going on at Trine? xD I actually picked that one because I noticed a lot of people were choosing Trine and I thought I'd have more people to roleplay with. smile

Edit: Added a lot of details and changed her name. Is she good now? Also, on another note...I accidentally called her A'ni in there once xD But I fixed that too.

I changed her age and put her in benden. Is she still okay? (that's all i changed about her...well, that and I changed her to an apprentice since I'd changed her age.)

yesh, I actually copied and pasted the original information from a dragonrider profile that had been used somewhere else. Aoni (A'ni, there) is pretty much my favorite pernese OC. xD I have another one (Melody...what would that be as a dragonrider? Mel'dy? XD), but Aoni is definitely my favorite xD

But yeah...I was glad to catch it. Twould be a bit presumptuous for a candidate to start calling herself A'ni xD
