So I just finished reading Master of None, and while Gavyn is like, the best character ever, I found the ending very...typical. The happily ever after ending. While it was cute, I found myself kind of dissapointed. I was expecting more.
And Ian is also a really awesome character, but Bateman's genies have a lot of history and I found myself unable to believe most of it. Bateman stretched her version of genies a little to far for me, bringing it back with some factual explanation that made it believable but just barely. And she did so in such a way that you really dislike how it was done but can't say anything about it because the facts all line up and you'd have virtually no argument.
But, I liked Jazz, Gavyn, and Ian--and don't forget Tony and Lark too. heart I really did like the book, despite my negative review >.>' It was just the ending that kind of dissapointed me, seeing that this is Bateman's first book and as her reviewers said, it was a very bold first try and I really like her style; I was just surprised she ended the way she did.
Not to say I wanted everyone to die but, I guess I've just read too many happily ever afters to be satisfied. >n<
Anyways, if you've read the book, what do you think? (Am I completely wrong to say what I did?)
