~Prologue~

The silent cries of seagulls and its wings fluttered through the air as they soared above the clouds. The rope dangling under the bell slightly moved from the force of a salty breeze causing it to give a short DONG. There was a wooden boat creaking as the tides swayed back and forth with swishing noises as they hit wooden poles. Grey skies showed barely any light and were as dull as the emptiness of the port. A thumping sound broke the semi-silence of the area along with the jingling of metal, which rhythmically followed the thudding of boots. A shadow of a figure approached a door, giving it a knock. A grumpy, looking man, still wearing his night cap answered the knock, still half asleep.

"Oo in the world? Ah... It just be you, eh?" he gave a crooked grin after recognizing the figure."Wot's all this then, wakin' a man airly in the morn? Couldn't wait, eh? Do ye have the money?"

A brown bag was held out in front of the man with pieces of silver jingling inside. The man gave an awkward chortle as he took the bag and counted the money.

"The ship be yours then. Ye got a name for it? It be bad luck writhout namin' a ship."

Light slowly came into view as the winds slightly picked up creating a stronger tide and ringing of the bell. It expanded over the waters filling the skies with colors ranging from orange to pink to purple. The figure stared out at the breath-taking landscape before letting up a half grin.

"Hohoho. Thought of one already? Best be set sailing with a crew soon, Las. Best time urv the yur."

The man shut his doors leaving the figure to walk out toward the wooden port, boots still thumping against the ground. An arm rested against the handle of a sword which was worn on the figure's right side, one foot leaning heavily on the ground than the other. Reaching out with the left hand at the sunrise, their fingers clutched together as if to grab it. "Bring me that horizon..."

(It was such a good quote. I can't help but use it.)

The sound of exotic music, tambourines, and jingling bells from the skirts of the gypsies as they danced enticed a crowd. Then, like the voice of an angel, a white gypsy came out from behind the rest and the others went to the side. She sung in her native language, her eyes sparkling it seemed as she danced, the ribbons she spun made her look like a swan flying across a lake. She blinked her eyes seductively at the crowd, smiling slyfully. Then, in a blink, she disappeared behind the other gypsy women and the music stopped. The crowd clapped and men whistled as the gypsy women bowed. Money was thrown into the cloth the had on the floor.
"Diamond, don't forget-" A man from the gypsy group called as she walked back to her tent, "You have another performance tonight. Don't disappoint."
"I never do." Diamond scoffed.
"Just because you amaze the crowd with your differences, doesn't mean you are any better than us." The other gypsy women frowned at her as they returned with the bag of money. "You will never be one of us. Your mother was a traitor when she married your father. It was a shame to the group." Diamond rolled her hands into fists and reached for a knife underneath the hem of her skirt, tossing it right past the face of the woman. The woman froze and paled.
"You dare say another thing about my mother and I'll-" Her hand was held back by the man from her group.
"Diane. Thats enough." He glared.
"You defend them? I've had enough of this. I'll show them. I'll make them pay one day." Diane pulled her arm away and she walked back to her tent.

A hooded figure in a blue trench coat stepped through the crowd, surrounded by many but unnoticed by all. They were all busy watching the street performances of the gypsies that roamed around these parts of the town. Peeking through the hood with brown eyes, the figure glanced over at the performers. Might as well pass the time, waiting for a crew and all. Not many gypsy performances were this popular, even in other parts of the town, so curiosity struck, wondering why this one in particular was overcrowded by whistling and howling men, having already missed the performance of the white gypsy, of course. With a shrug, a silver coin was tossed along with the others as the performance ended. Gypsies... Even if they attract attention and earn money, they are still treated as outcasts by many. A lightbulb went off. Outcasts...? Sounds too perfect.
The hooded figure moved through the crowds with ease and onto the front of the stage before the crowd, or the gypsies left. "Attention, please!" Danielle cried out to the crowd in a loud voice. She pressed one foot against a huge rock, crossing her arms with a grin. "Anyone who doesn't feel like they belong here, they're welcomed to join my crew! That is, if any of you believe you can handle the dangers that awaits you... Abandon your homes! Run away from unwanted chores and duties! Set sail with me on my ship! Who's with me!?" she raised her fist in the air, awaiting some shouts to be heard.
Silence.
"...GER OFF THE STAGE!" men shouted. "YOU AIN' NO GYPSY!" "WHY DONSE WE 'AV A LOOK AT YER FACE FIRST BEFORE WE BE EDIN' OFF ON SOME GODFORSAKEN JOURNEY, AY?!" "YER LOOKIN' MIGHTY SUSPICIOUS IF YER ASK US!"
"Tough crowd," Danielle laughed and dodged anything rotten being thrown at her.

Diamond was in her tent and took off her dancing clothes, changing back into more normal, yet alluring attire. She heard footsteps at the entrance of her tent and sighed, glancing back in surprise when she found it was not someone she knew. "You, what are you doing in my tent?!" She sneered at the man, who had a rope in his hands.
"Silence, or I'll have to deal with you in a more unpleasant manner." The man warned. She heard more men surround the tent. And then just now, her knives, where had the rest of her knives gone? The tent was pulled down and she could clearly see she was surrounded. She frowned.
"Let me guess... I've been sold to you." She narrowed her eyes. The gypsy girls had done this to put away the competition.
"Come quietly. We'd rather not hurt you."
"You mean, you'd rather not damage your purchase." Diamond scowled. She had a knife under her skirt and brought it out in seconds, tossing it at the head of one of the men and killing him. She leaped over his dead body as the men stared after her increduously. The man with the rope scowled.
"Don't just stand there! After her!" He shouted. Diamond gasped as she hid behind another tent. No one was around in the camp. No one to run to.

Danielle ran off, away from rotten tomatoes, banana peels, and they were even generous enough to throw her rocks. Her cloak flew behind her as she she ran from a few people, who suddenly decided to run after her with more rocks. Drunkards they were; that's all there needed to be said about their motivation of wasting their time chasing after someone with a cloak on. She heard more voices in the distance as she ran into a site with tents. She paused momentarily to look around. "Gypsy tents..." she concluded. However, everything was silent in the area. Eerily silent. "I's think she ran o'er ere!" a man's voice shouted from behind her. "After her!" she heard another voice from the front. "Two groups? I don't remember being this popular to kill," she snickered. She ducked into one of the bushes, awaiting to ambush whichever group comes her way. Being small and short had its benefits when the situation calls for it. She heard the panting of another and thumping steps coming her way. Danielle grinned mischievously, thinking it was one of the men that had followed her. Her eyebrows raised when she saw it was none other than a girl with blonde hair. Who's she? Her eyes widened in panic as she realized, Shoot! She might attract them to my hiding spot! Danielle silent crept up behind the girl who was hiding behind the tent and placed a hand over her mouth. She yanked her back into the bush, making sure her arms did not smack the living daylights out of Danielle from pure shock and surprise. She lifted one of her fingers toward her lips and made the "shoosh!" face.

Diamond stared at the cloaked figure in confusion but did not protest. She heard the figures footsteps getting farther away and peeked through the bush. "It's safe." She murmured. The running footsteps were far now. She could tell with her sharp sense of hearing. "We have to get out of here before they come back..." She said in a hushed voice and pointed to a hidden path.

Danielle blinked, trying to listen in on how far they were. Everything was still silent. Hoh? Looks like she has sharp hearing. She did not even notice that there had been a hidden path. "Shh," Danielle suddenly shushed her, as if there was something dangerous up ahead. Danielle suddenly burst out from the bushes and sprinted after whichever group she came across first. They were all facing their backs toward her, following a man with a rope. Her mouth grinned to the side as she leaped into the air and slammed her foot against the back of one of the man's head. He groaned in shocked before falling onto the ground. Danielle took this chance to hide behind one of the tents and run around to the front. As the men were distracted by their fallen comrade, She jumped onto one of their shoulders a kicked upwards at anything visible: the nose, the chin, the cheek. She hopped from one man's shoulder to the next, not being mercifully about her weight. Once most of them had successfully keeled toward the ground, she took off toward the blonde girl. Danielle grabbed her wrist and ran straight through the hidden path that the girl had pointed out. "Okay! Now we can run!" she laughed.

Diane stared completely shocked at the cloaked woman's bizarre behavior as she ran along with danielle. "Wait, who are you?"

Danielle grinned as she took her hood off, still running with the new girl. "I'm looking for a crew, that's who I am." She suddenly came to a stop and stared up at the woman. She was taller than her, and had more curves than Danielle has seen in any other woman, or herself for that matter. "...So who are you?" she asked cluelessly after having already ran along side with her in the hidden path.

"I'm a gypsy. They call me diamond." She said her name with a sort of pridefulness, smiling brightly as she rested one hand on her hip and pointed to herself with her free hand. "I'm the best dancer and singer in the whole group, as well as an expert knife thrower. Men don't usually even dare to come near me when I have a blade in my hands."

Danielle stared up at Diamond as she introduced herself, being how tall Diamond was. She nodded at every word she said and took her hand, shaking it once. "Great. You're in!" Danielle took out a "CREW WANTED" poster and placed it in Diamond's hand, not asking whether or not she wanted it. Danielle rushed off, putting her hood back over her head, and turned around waving at Diamond. "I'LL MEET YOU THERE! JUST READ THE PAPER!" she shouted before she continued to dash off. She stopped and turned around. "UNLESS YOU THINK YOU CAN KEEP UP!" she grinned from underneath her cloak, once again turning around to sprint away.
