Okay, I barely caught the news this morning, but I saw something about Oslo being bombed and then the shooter, disguised as an officer, opened fire on a youth center. Does anyone know any more details about this? I'm just curious because it seems so out of the blue, and so tragic.
So, yeah, what's going on, Norway? I'm concerned for you.

I haven't gotten a lot of details, but the speculation is is that it was a terrorist attempt. Luckily the Prime Minister was at a lunch meeting away from where the explosion happened. The explosion caused some serious damage to government buildings and it was right next to where the Prime Minister worked. I haven't gotten anything on the shooting.
Keep in mind that the terrorists don't like Scandinavia because of the cartoons that showed the prophet Mohammad.

Hmm...well, at least the Prime Minister was safe. I wish I knew if there were any casualties at that youth camp though. I mean, not that I would ever condone any terrorism of any kind, but I just think people attacking children is the most shameless of anything.

Attacking children is very low indeed.

There is some more news. At least 90 are dead, seven were killed in the explosion and at least 84 were killed in the shooting. The death toll is said to rise. Apparently it was the same person who detonated the bomb and did the shooting. Here is more in depth news.

Apparently, I have some relatives in Norway and two of them were in one of the governmental buildings half an hour before the bomb exploded. Both of them weren't hurt, thankfully.
How dare someone attack my future home! *plans on moving to Norway*

Yes, I just got the death toll count from my family when I came home from work today. 85 children, according to them...that makes me sick.
@Veretix Thanks for that link. I'm also glad to hear your relatives are safe. And you know, if I had to move to a foreign country, Norway would have been somewhere on my list because I just never hear anything about Norway. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it one of the countries with some of the highest happiness ratings? I think I read something like that in a magazine.
*sigh* These things just weigh really heavy on me, and I don't even have a lick of Norwegian heritage.
