The courtyard is just outside the Mess Hall through a pair of double doors. You can eat lunch here, get tutoring from other students and teachers. It's open from 7:00AM to 9:00PM, caught out here after those times and its a one way pass to Detention Hall.

[{I'll tidy up my posts in a bit. Right now I don't have time.}] Emmeline perched awkwardly on one of the low stone walls, chin in her hands, while Emmerett paced silently next to her. "This is stupid." he murmered, and only past practice enabled Emmeline to hear him. "I was fine in New York. There was no need to ssend us here." he continued, infusing the word 'here' with disgust. "Oh, Em, relax. Maybe this won't be all that bad." Emmeline sighed. Ever since they had arrived, Emmerett had been griping about things.

Emmeline hopped up. "Emmerett, go scratch a sofa! We're stuck here, and you're going to have to get used to it!" She ran off, planning to head toward the girl's dormitories. That way Emmerett wouldn't be able to follow her. And then she'd avoid him until he learned to cope.
