(Sorry, had to abbreviate the title for space purposes. Original author of Little Women is Louisa May Alcott).

This is an interesting book. It takes the original plot of Little Women and intertwines supernatural themes. As long as you don't take it too seriously, it's an enjoyable read.

Question: I know a lot of people have issues with books like these. So how do you feel? Are revamps of classics just for fun, or do they ruin the reputation of the book?

That actually sounds pretty interesting (I'd have to read Little Women to get the added jokes though, I'm sure). I tried to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies because I just LOVE parody books (National Lampoon's Nightlight is one of my favorites) but I hated Pride and Prejudice and I don't actually like Zombies....

So that was probably a bad pick for me.

Well, I read only the first half of P&P&Z as I got bored, but it was kinda entertaining, but not enough for it to have spawned so many of these other parodies.

And, yes, reading the source material first can make the jokes better.

I love classics, but I also think that redoing them is just for fun. I actually want to read Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter (I think that's the title? lol). So, no, I don't mind authors rewriting well-known, beloved books. smile
