Homa'Youn Rune Center
User Image

Stationed around a small river, lays a small town of refuge, trade and shady deals. The largest Rune Writer settlement is over seen by the council a group of elders and the Homa'yun clan.

Te'katit Square, is the center of all trade and transactions. Open vendors stalls lay their good and foods to the masses, under the shade of trees and nearby building where inside deals are made and contrasts are broken. Benches and low table bloke the flow broad center by day and vanish at night when the night market comes out to play.

Surrounding this little bay of activity, are large winding streets that all truly lead to one. Here residents from the Rune Writer Clans and beyond find shelter and ease from the constant trading. These calm streets greet returners and newcomers, offering inns and quiet places for tea. This after taking the winding track just off the road leading to the Aqualiis Bridge.

That doesn't mean trade doesn't happen here, but most vendors are those who couldn't manage to get into Ta'katit Square or are members of Rune clans trying to make a bit of money on the side.

There is something to be said about the open road. A faint misty breeze brushing against the coat of road one was wearing. The sway of the caravan's wheels against packed dirt. The smell of earth, trees, fresh water. Even the gentle thud of the Om'shad's hooves turning small stones into pebbles. All the factors held a special energy that hummed in the blood. It was the call of the nomadic life

So of course it was a shock when she entered Ta'katit, despite having been there many times before. The smells, sounds, and chattering overwhelmed her for a moment, but then she managed to get her head together. In the four days since her clan had entered the market, she was still stunned by the crowds, the smells, and the chatter. It was, strangely enough, a relief from the norms that controlled her average day. Farmers, Alchemists, Swordsman, and even some she couldn't recognize walked around, browsed, and bartered. The smell of people, sweet breads and treats, mixed with grilled meats of all types mixed together into a mysterious perfume that was solely Ta'katit. It was overwhelm and yet...

Naz couldn't get enough of it, but while she could wander the stalls all day she had an appointment that had far more pressing matters than the latest bracelets. Her light and airy strides took from the Rune marketed entrance to the other side of market, forcing her to pass by a large group of debating...people, who had trouble remembering that they carried food. Wiping a bits of fruit from her hair, she heard, "Oh what a wonderful fashion statement ye've got there, Naz."

She directed a scathing look to the giggle youth, "Oi, I'll be makin' a state wit' yur face if ye don't watch it. T'ough give what's in ur lap, I might not need to."

The girl shoved her mess of fluff and Spindle below the table's top as she glared up at her older cousin, "I just started you clot snuffler. Plus, you've got ye own mess to deal wi'. Ze Head wan' you up in the building. She wan' to be havin' a chat wit' ye."

This time, the sharp wit of the words were gone. Gravity set in and the airy steps that had taken her to their spot seemed like fantasies. For a second Naz wasn't sure what to do, it wasn't every day that the Head of the Clan called for a personal chat especially in such a quiet way. She had been under the belief that she was too relieve the stall holder, but this carried far too much weight. As a petty thief, she chose her targets and methods, so she was certain it had not to do with that. As a Rune Writer, she worked for the clan and she wasn't so eager to make some eager coinage that she had sold the rune secrets. She had broken no rule, she had not even held a relationship, so...So why ze order to chat? she thought frozen outside the second story office door. There was only one thing that could bring forth such a call and the thought sent a shudder down her spin.
