As a writer, I'm sure we all have an unfinished story somewhere int that closet, but for those of you who are good about finishing the story you start, how do you do that? How do you not lose interest in it? Lately I've been writing a lot, and I now have 1 or 2 stories that I've completely lost interest in. So. What is your trick?

Find what inspired you to start it in the first place. It's sort of like the feeling you felt trying to write that story. For my horror stories, if I lost interest, I just think about how sadistic I felt when writing it, and I suddenly want to do the horror story again.
But that only works for me. The most basic thing to do is re-red your own story from the beginning and hope that a new idea pops into your head. I ended up re-editing one of my stories and made it better because of that.

I agree. This is a problem for me as well. Usually i do what you both suggest. smile Another problem I have is that i start to lose ideas. D: Thats the worst. Just when you are about to finish something, your mind just goes blank.

Sometimes, you just have to ask around and hear the creative ideas from other people. You might come up with your own from theirs, or use some of their ideas that they suggested.

Haha yeah. What I like best about roleplay guilds is that you can colaborate with other people to make a story, and when you have more than one person working on it, it's not as hard to get stuck, because you can ask the other person for ideas.

Haha true! What i do to get ideas sometimes is just sit down and watch tv. If on the computer, i watch anime. razz
