I've recently had a lot of questions about my faith and there seems to be so many that I have been overwhelmed with where to begin to even start looking for answers. Unfortunately, that also means that I haven't gone to God for the answers yet. I say yet because I feel like I'm so lost in my questions, I don't know what I have questions about. I think I will make a list of my questions and then as they get answered, write out the answers so that way I can see them and remember them.
A lot has happened in my life since I've created and left the guild.
In a nutshell, my ex boyfriend and I had a really bad falling out. In the shortest words, he went a little psycho on me. To be fair, since it takes two for a relationship, I know there are many things that I did that didn't help us but made us worse. In reality, I'm still dealing with a lot of that trauma. I have a lot of expectations and resentments that I need to pray about, let go, come to grips with and eventually, forgive him and myself. I think the biggest thing right now is for me to find the capacity to forgive myself.
I've also moved out of my parent's house and into an apartment with my new boyfriend of eight months. I also have a lot of resentments toward my parents that I need to work out as well. But, as I suspected, now that I'm not living with them, we seem to be getting along a lot better.
What else.....
I've changed majors once more. I think this is the fifth or sixth time now. I've left math and have declared pre-nursing as my field of study. I've only taken one class so far but man has it been amazing! I'm really excited about this career path.
So, aside from questioning my faith, struggling to find answers and dealing with some trauma from my last relationship, I guess things have been okay. Through all of that and even now, I have everything that I need. And for the first time in a long time, I can also say that I'm not as much of a mental mess as I used to be.

Should you decide to comment, feel free to comment on the questions that I have and if you want, you are more than welcome to give an answer or give guidance. It's up to you, however, I won't be turning this thread into a discussion or debate area. Feel free to make a thread in the debate subforum if you feel led to ^^
My questions so far, most likely more will be added over time:
~ What is/are the most important things about following Jesus? ~ Why are there so many denominations of religion? ~ Other religions: why are we so sure that it's not God reaching out to other people in a way that they would understand? ~ Why are people saying that hell is a concept of man to scare us into obedience? ~ Why does God not allow homosexual relationships?

I`d like to say that my heart goes out to you and your complications right now. I admire how you recognize that you need to change though and that you are actively trying to help yourself. You are a strong woman and I am glad to read that you have found love again with your current boyfriend along with a new career field.

I am a sinner... "1 John 1:8"
~ What is/are the most important things about following Jesus?
I think the most important thing about following Jesus is loving Him above all others, loving others, and loving yourself. If we love Him, others, and ourselves we will be the truthful, kind, caring, generous people that he calls us to be.
~ Why are there so many denominations of religion?
I'm not sure why there are so many denominations but I believe as long as the church believes that the Bible is the word of God and follows that, then it doesn't quite matter. Also I believe that there are many denominations of churches because there are a lot of gray areas that many true God fearing Christians disagree on so if you believe one way about a gray matter than another you would more likely fit into a church that goes by that too? I'm not too sure though this is all opinion.
~ Other religions: why are we so sure that it's not God reaching out to other people in a way that they would understand?
I believe that God chooses only 1 set thing broken down in different ways to help people. Jesus, is our Lord and Savior, the son of God who came to earth to die for all of the world's sins. That is a main truth if Christianity that MANY other religions don't follow. Take Judaism (sp?) for example does not believe that Jesus is messiah. They do not follow the new testament, so therefore God wouldn't use that religion to help people better understand.
~ Why are people saying that hell is a concept of man to scare us into obedience?
People say this because they don't truly want to face the fact that hell is real and God really does send those who don't believe there. They don't want to face the fact that Good wholesome people go to hell everyday because they didn't believe that Jesus Christ died for their sins and that the only way to Heaven is through Him, the Son of God. People want to take solace in something that sounds pretty and less sever. Just like in Jeremiah's time, they had false prophets telling them that they wouldn't face the judgments that were coming or that they were saying things to make people feel better about the wickedness they were in. But God still destroyed them and allowed them to be taken into the hands of their enemy because they chose NOT to repent and turn to God.
~ Why does God not allow homosexual relationships?
This is ALL my opinion, I am not trying to debate anything as it is stated in the rules it is not allowed. If you wish to further talk to me about this then please feel free to P.M. me: God created Adam and Eve, Man and Woman to fill the world full of people. God created our sexual reproduction organs to fit with the opposite sex's for a reason. Sexual relations weren't created just for people to have fun and feel good. It was about creating more of God's children. So if a man and man are having sexual relations then it would be a sin. In the same light, ALL sin is equal. A lie is equal to murder is equal to raping someone is equal to having sex outside of marriage. We are all born with a sinful nature, so when someone says "I was born gay", well to them I say, that's all well and find, it doesn't mean that it's right. I was born a lying manipulative thief so does it make that okay? Of course not. People are born with murderous tendency, does that mean it's okay? of course not, so if you're born a homosexual, then it's not right either. We are to die to our sinful nature and follow God's will daily. It is possible for a person to deny their homosexual tendencies. If that means they don't involve themselves in a dating relationship with anyone, then so be it, that only gives a person more time to devote to the Lord so that they will better their faith as well as better their denial of their sinful ways.
...Saved by God's grace "Acts 15:11"
