~The Bridge~
Long ago there was a great war, the likes which the world had never seen before. One Nation threatened to rule the world and destroy the balance. The war was brutal, genocide, enslavement, and betrayal dominated the world.
The war came to its most horrific moment when a human took the entirety of the balance upon himself and killed a spirit. Though thanks to the Avatar of that era the moon was revived by a string of events only destiny could put together.
The war eventually came to a close with the Avatar of course being the source of peace. However the damage was done. The war had occurred in the first place because of the absence of the Avatar and caused the death and replacement of a Spirit ally. Ripples of restlessness began to spread throughout the Spirit world. Humans killing Spirits? The beings that put themselves on the line to defend them? Unheard of. Something had to be done.
The spirits decided that they could not allow such an event to happen again. Another unchecked event could very well cause the end of both worlds. Spirits needed the Humans as much as the Humans needed the Spirits. The Spirits, wishing for peace, joined together and in an effort to give the humans a way to prevent such an event again, bestowed power upon certain artifacts of the previous war.
To each who wields one of these artifacts should they be worthy will posses that power and be charged with being the peacekeeper for their era, should the avatar ever fail in his duties. It is said that when all the artifacts are gathered the power that will be possessed will rival even that of the Avatars, for that purpose the Spirits made it impossible for one person to wield more than one artifact.
The properties and locations of these artifacts was entrusted to the one order that the spirits could place their trust in. The Order of the White Lotus. The secret could only be entrusted to the Grand Master, over the course of time, the locations of the artifacts became riddles along with the abilities they possess but the most recent Grand master has inherited these riddles and decided to find these objects for the purpose of the promise of what all the objects bring.
It is said that when all the objects are gathered, the warriors who possess them will be able to open a bridge to the Spirit World where they may obtain knowledge from all spirits, and learn in their world. However what interest the one who is spearheading the mission to find theses objects is the other side of that tail, the ability to enter the Afterlife...
To find these objects and to have the worthy wielders will surely sustain the peace of the world, or so is the plan...
