I'm really hoping to practice my Chinese and Swedish more often. I'm not sure if it's still invite only but I'd be happy to give invites.

Not yet but I'd love to be ^_^ On the website it says that they're not letting any more people in, even people that get invited. So you're lucky!
I hope that Google+ will finally be the international social networking site since Facebook failed in Asia. But then again I heard that the Chinese government blocked it, and South Koreans don't use Google...

Not really (although about 5 different online communities I'm in offered invites) , I don't really like real-name social networks like Facebook, because I don't want a future employer to have access to that much personal info about me, I don't trust Facebook, and most of all, it's unpopular with Japanese people, and last I checked, it's Japanese interface was only partially translated. I hope Google+ becomes more popular than Facebook, so some of my English-speaking friends would stop nagging me to join Facebook. xp

There are 44 languages you can change the menus to: Arabic Bulgarian Catalan Chinese (simplified) Chinese (traditional) Croatian Czech Danish Dutch English (US version - default) English (UK version) Estonian Filipino Finnish French German Greek Hebrew Hindi Hungarian Indonesian Italian Japanese Korean Latvian Lithuanian Malay Norwegian Persian Polish Portuguese (Brazil) Portuguese (Portugal) Romanian Russian Serbian Slovak Slovenian Spanish (Latin America) Spanish (Spain) Swedish Thai Turkish Ukrainian Vietnamese You can also make any of these languages your primary language. Basically, on the language settings page, you specify languages in order of preference for viewing Google products, and the only limit is the amount of languages available (44 in this case).

My friend sent me an invite, but I've yet to join it. I think I will soon, though, because Facebook is kind of blah lately. It looks really complicated, though.
