Over the years, it has been considered "difficult" to find a nickname for Simon. His friends have never found one appropriate. In lazy time, he'll go by Sime, which merely shortens his name by one syllable. His friends came up with Psycho because of his hyper personality, which influenced him to study psychology. The reading and studying was difficult thanks to his dyslexia. In German schools, he was formally addressed as "Herr Xander." He rarely goes by this (because he hides his German origin), but on his trips to Germany, when he is not referred to as 'Simon' by his family and friends, everyone in his home town calls him 'Herr Xander.'

"By whose touch does the lily smile... /// And open its beauty – bud?"
Simon has never had the distinct appearance of his country, and his background has been commonly mistaken for Australian or Irish. His short hair is a brownish blonde, which often appears to be a dark gold or even bronze. At times it may take on a reddish hue, but that is not a common trait. His hair is naturally curly, but it has been noted that if he takes the time to straighten it, his bangs would be just long enough to reach the tip of his nose. However, he normally brushes his hair back when wet, which ends with a few locks down when he's finally let it dry, though most of it gives him a consistent wave in his hair. His grey-blue eyes suit his eyes in an oddly piercing fashion. His hair, at its longest, reaches his chin, and that is at the back of his head. None of it drops more than an inch below his hairline, and the organized mess that he calls a hair style gives a hint to his personality, though most are taken aback at his friendly demeanor and constant cheerful smile. He has been compared with a kitsune, which is a pranker that only goes to cause trouble with its best grins in place.
"Whose moonlit beauty... /// Do I see in the lily?"
Skin is skin, no matter what shade. Simon spends much of his time outside, but he has a curious condition where he burns quite badly, but as the sunburn heals his skin turns a rich tan. He is tall, and though he appears to have no strength or meat to him, he has a very high metabolism. He is powerful physically, though he never shows that off because his body is far too lean for it to be settling. He is 6'4", and weighs approximately 185 pounds, which is just above the mark for underweight. He tends to eat a lot to fuel his metabolism so his weight doesn't drop suddenly. Looking at Simon, he always appears to be warm, but if you touch his skin, it's cool to the touch. This is from a condition he has called Neuropathy, where he has no feeling in his body. His blood does not come all the way to the surface, which results in cool, somewhat clammy skin most of the time. He does his best to keep himself clean shaven so that he appears to be more civilized and suave than he really is. His face had mild wrinkles from his wide smiles, but it's nothing that makes him appear older than he truly is. He is a bit paler than the average worker, because he is not always outside, which makes him stick out apart from his family.
"Who is the Eye of my eye; /// Who is the Heart of my heart?"
Since childhood, his jaw has been set. He rarely relaxes, and his jaw is clenched behind his smile with the strain of staying firmly in control of any situation. His features are strong, though not particularly sharp. He appears mostly average, which is surprising when you consider his role as a murderer. When he doesn't shave, it takes a few days for him to start getting a stubbly mess on his chin and cheeks, so he carries razors with him on trips. His hair is also fast to grow, and the natural wave in his hair creates a massive mess when it's not kept close to his head. He keeps his appearance mostly average, and his blue eyes are a more cloudy blue than the clear color that most from his family present. It was assumed that the cloudy gray-blue of his eyes was from his father's side, though it truly comes from his grandfather, who had cataracts forming and lightened the color of his eyes. His fast metabolism offers him the ability to never increase his weight with fat, which after a brief study, he found was from his father, who appears as an emaciated child at times. However, his face has a few lines around his lips from his frequent wide smiles that stay in place for hours at a time if something can keep him happy. His anger, however, sparks a certain expression in his eyes, a sort of glee that is often feared in him. When he frowns outside of playing serious, those that know him cower.
"Alas, then why do I not see Him, /// His face of transcendental Beauty, /// Even in my dreams?"
Despite being colorblind except for the color red, he has a decent fashion sense. He never wears red, for it poses a great distraction to him. Most of his pants are black or gray slacks, and all of his shirts are white or black. He has a black vest and a white vest in the case that he will attend a formal event or have to be dressed nicely. On a casual day, he may pull out a rust-colored polo that his sister bought him years ago and a pair of jean cut-off capris. He more often wears black pants, black shoes, a white shirt, and a weathered black vest. Most of the time, he wears a red ruby ring on his right ring finger. The ring is an heirloom which he recently mailed to Germany to get it refurbished and cleaned by a friend, for it has been in his family for several generations, passed to the head of his family's main branch. Engraved under the ring setting against his finger is an 'X,' his family's monogram. He also wears a silver locket around his neck with the most recent picture of his daughter, who he killed on "the night," as he calls it.

Trustworthy and Aloof
Dreamy and Creative

Compassionate and Adaptable

On the dark side....
Oversensitive and Indecisive
Self-pitying and Escapist
Loyal - faithful to any leader, party, or cause, or to any person or thing conceived as deserving fidelity
Simon will go out of his way to help a friend. He is extremely sensitive and loyal. He will take a friend's problem and make it his own and suffer with them. This is the weak spot of Simon, but any friend of his should know that although he is attracted to people with severe problems who desperately need help, this actually does more harm than good. Even though Simon will offer to make everything right, people should not allow him to take on all their problems because he will lose his identity in the situation. He needs a strong positive friend to make him strong.
Dependent - relying on someone or something else
Simon needs a dominant partner or role model in their life or they will very easily fall into a pit of self-pity and self-undoing. When he is independent and inspired by life's events, his creativity comes shining through but he is unable to be on his own for long before they start dreaming in their imaginary world of happy people and happy endings. He needs other people to keep him grounded and on the right track. When he finds a friend, Simon tends to become more sane, better at keeping himself grounded and away from the triggers that set him off so frequently when he's alone. Having someone around influences him to keep his self-control intact.
Temperamental - given to erratic behavior; unpredictable.
Simon's personality is hard to pin down, as it's true value is very mysterious and elusive. He has been molded by his surroundings, and he incorporates his experiences and surroundings into himself. Surprisingly, he does not have the extreme compassion and feel the pain of others like most do. If something is wrong in the world that affects him, it affects him deeply. He takes anything that could affect him to heart and feels extreme feelings regarding the matter. When he is happy, he is extremely happy and when he is sad, he is extremely depressed. His mood is quite unpredictable, and he is given to shifting his entire state of being in less than a second due to certain triggers that could emerge from his company and the situation he is in.
Sensitive - having acute mental or emotional sensibility
Simon has an intuitive and psychic ability more than most others around him. He trusts his gut feelings and if he does not at one point, he quickly learns it is a mistake because his hunches are usually correct. Simon's downfall is his sensitivity and his inability to reject another person successfully. He does not like rejection and he tries to treat others the way he wants to be treated, so he will rarely say no to a person for fear of hurting their feelings. He will help another person with their problems and likes to do so because making others feel good in turn makes him feel good. Simon is susceptible to self-undoing. He is not susceptible to bad luck normally, but often to unfortunate events. He brings the situations on himself by overindulging and a knack for picking poorly suited partners and friends. He wants people in their life who stir his emotions because this helps him to practice emotional stability. The inner conflict of Simon is extremes of temperament and conflicting emotions. He is trying to pinpoint themselves on the real world while his spiritual world can cloud his vision. He will try to escape or avoid a situation instead of confronting it. Simon's eternal struggle is to learn to use his powers and imagination in a positive, productive way and vying for emotional stability by not giving away his emotions to everyone else.

In this f a d e d photograph...
A young, beautiful woman stands smiling with a grey-haired man, whose years had not been kind to him. The man wears a half-frown, his white mustache accenting that frown. The woman had a slight swell to her belly. Her blonde hair shows the color that the tall, older man's used to be, and her bright blue eyes sparkle with glee. The picture is wrinkled, and quite old in perspective to the time that it currently is. One may be wondering what relationship these two share, but they are father and daughter. One may then wonder where this woman's husband was, but she had made a mistake months ago, where she had slept with a man who seduced her. She was impregnated from that one night, and knew a truth that she dared not tell her father; the man she had slept with was an immortal god, so she would be siring the child of a god.
Danielle's pregnancy was a healthy one. Being a fit woman, she had no trouble adjusting to the trials of motherhood, suffering through morning sickness and migraines like a champion. Her father, Rolf, on the other hand, was somewhat overwhelmed by the fact he was going to become a grandfather to a child his one and only daughter would bear to the world...with no son-in-law. For a man usually as steady as a rock, it was amusing for Danielle to see her normally composed father fret over her as if she were a fragile glass doll. Still, she enjoyed his attentions, as he did seeing her glow with happiness each time she passed a hand over her slowly swelling belly. Eight months into the pregnancy, Danielle returned from a doctor's visit, her face flushed with excitement: she was going to have a boy! Rolf took the news to his son that day, along with his own siblings, whom all congratulated the young woman when it was announced that Danielle was having a boy... It would be one month later that tragedy would strike the Xander family. On that tragic day in January, Danielle would be returning from a visit to her own father's home when the car she was riding in hit a spot of black-ice on the road. The car struck the bank on the side of the road, roared up it and then spun into a cement light pole, crushing the passenger-side of the car in. Rolf would remember this night in parts, as time would stop and speed forward at the same time while he rushed to the hospital, where his daughter lay in critical condition. It would soon be announced that she had gone into premature labor, which would normally not be a crisis had it not been for the state of the mother. Danielle was going to die: she was suffering from internal bleeding, head trauma, several broken bones and a collapsed lung. Even on life support, Danielle could never hope to recover without sustaining serious brain problems due to the severity of her head injuries. A decision was to be made: save the baby, who would drown without a quick C-section, or send Danielle into surgery, where she might die and the baby as well. Rolf, too shocked to do anything, could not answer. At that moment, Danielle would be the one to answer the doctors: lifting one shaking, bloodied hand, she silently indicated to her swollen belly, stroking along it as she had time and time again. Save her baby: that was all she wanted.

Through the camera L E N S...
Simon's mother, through some blessing, survived the C-section. She was placed on life support, where weeks later, she awoke. Somehow, her mind functioned flawlessly, and she seemed so perfect. Simon was reunited with his mother, and life seemed like nothing could go wrong. Moving into her father's inn in Wiemar, Germany, Danielle took a position as an innkeeper, taking that position from her brother, who was not very happy. Everything seemed to be perfect...until Simon's fifth birthday.
Simon had many friends in school, and all of them came to the inn that day, ready for a big, massive party. It should have all gone perfectly well, with so many there to stop what was supposed to happen, but then, it was all his uncle's fault. His uncle had taken his mother to volunteer at an orphanage, and that day, as opposed to coming home with a nice gift for the five-year-old Simon, she brought a little baby girl home. As a very jealous, needy child, Simon was very displeased, but the breaking point was the mysterious stranger that came.
As opposed to turning the man away, Simon's uncle took the man in the back to chat business, and as Simon went to see what they were talking about, he was unnoticed. His mother was putting the baby to bed, and there was no one here yet. Simon's uncle knew that when his mother was gone, then he would become the heir, assuming that Simon was not of age to collect. By the time that Simon was old enough, the inn would be sold and the fortune depleted on luxuries solely for his uncle. Listening to this, a five-year-old Simon didn't understand too much of it. Not at first. Not until the mysterious stranger pulled out a gun. As Simon's mother began to come downstairs, there was a loud crack in the air.
Simon stared in stunned silence as color faded around him and his blood shone red against a white shirt. He looked at the man, one hand traveling to his arm as the man walked closer and pressed the barrel of the gun against the boy's forehead. As his mother ran into view, screaming his name with concern, his blood formed a blade in his hand, and he stabbed. The stranger fell in stunned silence, in the inn's business office, and Simon looked at his mother. Her beautiful blonde hair was a light gray, and her blue eyes so frightened, but so...not blue. The only thing he could see was the dark, ruby-like red of the blood. On his arm, the stranger, the floor...
However, there was someone watching that wasn't afraid. His hand fell on Simon's scrawny shoulder. Weeks later, Simon began spending more and more time with his grandfather, who took him everywhere and taught him how to be dependent. Until that point, he was very good at helping his mother and taking care of her. After that, he became more and more dependent on those around him. He spent four years with his grandfather as his adopted sister grew in the hands of a woman who was going crazy from the demonic powers her son possessed. Suddenly, however, his grandfather was sick, and soon gone from the world. He returned to his mother at age nine, and on his tenth birthday, he received the first letter he had ever had from his father. It requested that they move to Los Angeles in America so that he could begin to visit them, as his business was located nearby. Enclosed were three plane tickets, so Danielle, Simon, and his adopted sister, Angelica, made the trip to America. They left everything behind, but much to Simon's uncle's chagrin, they retained ownership of the inn, leaving his uncle to take care of it.
The day that they moved in, Simon's father made a visit. He was a slim, nearly emaciated man dressed in a suit. It was impossible to tell just how thin he was, because the suit made him appear to be average. Perhaps only Simon could see his sunken cheeks. Perhaps to everyone else he appeared to be normal, but to Simon, he was scary. He was something that Simon wanted to avoid. Placing his hand on Simon's head, the man, his father, gave his blessing...whatever that meant.
At age ten, Simon resumed school, his German accent pronounced and picked upon as different and weird. Through years of work, five years to be exact, he spoke fluent English without his accent.
When he entered high school, it was noted that he began seeing things, horrible monsters and demons. When he brought this up with his father during one of his weekly visits, he pulled Simon away from the house and said that Simon had to convince his mother that they should move away. After his semester ended, Simon, Angelica, and their mother moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he completed his high school career. He progressed, and took his studies to college two years early.
While taking care of his younger sister and his demented mother, he met a woman at college. He was seventeen, and she was twenty. Perhaps it wasn't his best decision, but he dated her, and they became intimately involved. When she became pregnant, she left him. However, he held up to his end, visiting her and making child support payments through his 21st birthday.
It was at that time, that he snapped, though the trigger is still unknown to him. He murdered his boss, his friend, his ex, and his daughter all at once, and the next day his mother. His sister was on a trip to Germany. Simon was found out, and despite a lack of evidence, he admitted his crimes. As a psychology student, he knew how to speak, how to act. He knew he was crazy, but played it to an extreme and was placed in solitary confinement in jail. He was called sick, twisted, and he stayed mostly to himself.
Two years into his life sentence, he killed three other prisoners while learning to control blood, which resulted in him being transferred to a new prison. During this transfer, a chimera attempted to kill him since it would be unable to otherwise, and he was rescued by a satyr, who took him to Camp Half-Blood.

And in the BACKGROUND...
At Camp Half-Blood, everyone shied away from him and his murderous ways. He did not understand this at first, but as he came to accept his fate, he began keeping to himself. He became dependent because of his grandfather, so the lack of people around him threw him for a loop. He was unable to feel pain, so he often went injured without realizing it, and as he learned to fight, his self-control became worse and worse. Ares kids constantly tormented him to try making him snap, but something held him back each time. He stayed to his cabin in self-loathing for the most part, as it always seems like no one wants to be friends with someone so troublesome and unpredictable. Despite his virtue, he just wasn't seen as trustworthy.
