Despite the rotten luck that most demigods would have, Lee was really lucky. He grew up in San Diego, California with a giant fandom of Japanese and Korean pop. One of his favorite groups was SHINee, a Hangul pop group that did their dancing and singing together. After going to Seoul for a few concerts, he started to learn their dances. His favorite member was always Tae Min, so he learned those parts and started to change his appearance to mimic Tae Min. Finally, he and friends created a SHINee impersonation group. They became very popular and threw a lot of American performances with the dances, songs, and personalities of SHINee. He started to go by Tae Min as his stage name and normally introduces himself as such.
His mother supported him, as she was a songwriter herself and had always encouraged Lee to dance and sing to his heart's content. Lee started the group and generally took over every task handed to him. He was often called controlling for that, but when the money came pouring in, they didn't really care.
When he originally started getting popular, he had a girlfriend. Later, he learned that she was using him and had been cheating on him for the majority of their relationship. A sort of anger swept over him, something deeply blood-related. He took vengeance on the woman through pranks and violence, and she never came near him again.
He was found by a satyr during one of his performances, and slipped out the back with the satyr after the performance, for there were hell hounds all over the actual audience. He was taken to Half-Blood Hill, where he has spent the last few weeks singing and dancing in private in the Apollo cabin whenever he became bored, which was quite often without the ability to contact his friends.

Lee is very loyal, and he always sticks by people that he can stand. He always has some concept of an ideal family. He is especially loyal to his friends and family, but when it comes to betrayal, he gets very angry. He is an extremely vengeful person, especially when he is betrayed by his loved ones. He finds the concept of backstabbing disgusting and frowns upon those that practice it. Overall, he is a happy man, and very nice, though has been described as a bit controlling. Most of the time, he takes charge, and his friends are complacent with it because they know him, but new people get very annoyed easily. He tries not to be controlling, but always corrects how a person does something when he thinks they're doing it wrong.

SHIMA B CHANG Shima is Lee's mother. Lee adores his mother, for his mother was the one who got him into music. Even though Lee never met his father, Shima always assures him that his father would be happy to see how well he was doing and it was always the picture-perfect mother that Lee always imagined.
SHU H CHANG Shu is Lee's older brother, whose mother died in childbirth. In Lee's SHINee impersonation group, Shu takes the place of Minho. He is loyal to his brother, but tends to play around as a bad boy / punk, and it annoys Lee to no end with how defiant he is to his father's wishes.
CHRISTOPHER W HUAN An American-born Korean, and Lee's best friend. He took the place of Key in the SHINee impersonation group, and is the one who learned the dances with Lee. He is just as loyal to friends as Lee and has never had an argument with anyone close to him.
LIN A HUAN Lin is Christopher's brother, and another member of the SHINee impersonation group. He tries to act cool by smoking and drinking, but he is really a good kid and learned all the parts for Jonghyun.
ALEXANDER D JIANG If it wasn't for the fact that Alexander knew all of the dances, Lee would stay away from him. Alexander always gave him a bad feeling and has a bad case of bipolar disorder. He explodes easily, but never on his friends. He learned the parts for Onew.
