This will be short for now.
Yes. I have joined some friends into the Orlando Street racing scene also Tampa on occasion.
Good or bad? Mostly good actually. I do not partake in the racing aspect -wink- but it is good to get a massive group of gears heads out to check out some of the worlds most desired cars I have ever seen in one spot. Over thing from 1200hp Supra's to Lambo's to your 3k cars that easily run 11 sec's on the 1/4.
Everyone is equal until proven stupid which is nice. I can start talking to descent people with out them ignoring me or thinking I am a half wit. he have very interesting convo's. The top players in the game will talk to you as well if your part of the circle and help ya out if you have an issue with your ride. A lot of the guys I have been chilling with run a speed shop down here. Very cool guys with mad respect.
Fast and furious had it all wrong. Street racing groups do street race. okay that's a no no and they know the consequence. But the last time I was in such a drug free group I was playing Yu-gi-oh at a local card shop. And there aren't uber clean cars being waxed by hot chicks either. It's a c**k fest.
There is a darkside to our scene. La fiebre. aka Ricerville. We go to their meets sometimes to get a good laugh. These guys are RICE. Slow as car's, blowing their motors doing burnouts and e-braking in a tiny as parking lot filled with over 100 cars. WOW. And there are many spots they dwell.
I have not been to the "Titan" part of this scene yet but that's where the big money races go down played by Vipers, Supra's, Lambo's, Zr1's, lotus, porsche, TT cars If it is fast and expensive, they have it and are playing in it for bucks.
All in all it has turned into a haven for me to chill with my friends and talk cars with other Gear heads. Plain and simple. So far.
This was the short version. I do not implore you to seek street racing. It is dangerous and you can be killed or arrested and lose your license, your car, and your freedom. I do not support in Street racing.
Also, I have been at our meets and cops have shown up right in front of my car and no, They would not arrest you for simply being in a parking lot with no signs saying other wise for you being there. Hell, there was even a cop that was chilling for 30 minutes doing his paper work while 50+ cars where chilling talking and what not. Until his buddy came and announced "Go home!!"
I have started going to the track for the first time and I have video of that. OMG it was a thrill. I've never pushed my car that hard, never done a burnout and OMG it was intense.
We all have beginnings into something we enjoy and this is mine.
