Valen lay behind a dumpster, in the restaurant district. The only part of his huge body visible to passer's by would have been his paws. Between them a meaty bone was nestled. One of his minions had dug it out of a dumpster some time earlier. Valen had made sure that the spoils went to the victor - who was, of course, himself. His little minion had run off to find other scraps, leaving Valen in solitude, as he preferred.

It seemed, these days, so much of his time was spent telling useless minions what to do. No wonder he lead the biggest street gang in Summerwood. Most of the other dogs here were dolts who lived pampered lives with people. He rolled his eyes and crunched down hard on the bone, shattering the hard white exterior to enjoy the marrow.

Valen had come a long way, and he was determined that he'd have an iron hold on the streets of this city until he was too old to be worth anything. His lips crept up in a half smile, half growl.

User ImageAdia trotted along next to her partner on one of the sidewalks of the restaurant district. Her partner was on break and looking for a good place to eat. Adia didn't wear a leash as her partner Angela trusted her to obey the commands given to her. Adia was an obediant dog and seldom misbehaved. She aimed to please Angela with all of her being.

Angela soon stopped outside the entrance of a restaurant. Adia stopped too and waited patiently for her commands after a moment Angela turned to her. "I'm going in to eat now. You wait here I won't be long." Angela told her and then she opened the door to the restaurant and went inside.

Adia glanced about after the door closed. She didn't like waiting directly by the door as children tended to come up to her and attempt to pet her in their rough ways. Looking about quickly Adia spotted an alley way to one side of the restaurant and decided that would be a good place to wait. Angela's calls would echo to her between the walls of the two buildings there and she could quickly dash back to her partner.

Adia entered the alley way cautiously always aware there could be another lurking in such a place ready to attack. She stayed near the entry way for many moments searching the alley for any signs of movement not daring to be caught off guard. If there was another in the alley she would scent them or see them before they could attack.

Between crunches on his bone Valen picked up at clicking on the pavement. Claws from some sort of creature. He rolled his lips back, letting out a warning growl and standing, fluidly.

Valen stepped out from behind the rusty dumpster, sure that his stupid little minion was back, without having done anything. "I thought I told you, you stupid house pet, that I wanted him ruined. There'd be no way that you could get that done in a few ---"

The huge Dane laid eyes upon a red-brown Doberman, who was proudly sporting a shiny star dangling off her collar. Valen let out a growling laugh.

"Police scum? Really? Get out of here, you dratted thing. You're already in over your head. " His hackles rose, letting out a long, deep growl. Valen was much larger than this other dog, but that didn't mean her partner wasn't around.

"You pampered house pets have no right being out here. This late. Get!"

He let out an echoing bark, holding his ground.

Adia spotted the movement of the other dog as soon as he began moving. His warning growl alerted her quickly that he was not a friendly dog.

The first words from the great danes mouth surprised her. Not only was he not friendly but apparently whoever he thought she was was out 'ruining' someone. However at his laugh her surprise turned to anger.

"How dare you speak to an officer of the law in such a manner. I am free to be where ever I want to be when I want to be there." She snarled at him through bared teeth. She was no where near intimidated by the dane's size. She had no fear of any dog big or small.

As the dane's bark echoed through the alley Adia held firm showing no fear. She held her ground and held it firm. She never let a dog who showed blaitant disrespect to an officer ever get the upper paw if she could manage to hold her ground.

Valen let out a barking, booming laugh. The sound bounced off the walls of the alley, amplifying and distorting it. The huge Dane laughed for a few moment. When he stopped he had a half grin on his face, revealing some of his pointed teeth.

"Funny little police puppy. Don't you know you're on my turf now? You couldn't do a thing to me if you tried. Why don't you just run back to your owner?"

Valen sat down, and tilted his head to one side. It made the chain hanging from his neck clang. This little Doberman certainly had some spunk. If not much common sense.
