1. You are not God, so don't say what the other characters are going to do if they haven't done it themselves already. It's very awkward when a group is doing something else and someone decides to pull them away from it for the sake of their own character or lengthening their post. 2. Only use cursing when it seems necessary and when in character. 3. Romance is fine, but let's not carry it over pg13.4. Try to avoid using a timeskip at all costs. To keep the roleplay unified, if one person uses a time skip, we'll all have to follow.5. Don't kill anyone without their permission. That's not a way to force someone out of a roleplay.6. If you go to leave the roleplay, try to put a last post saying that your character had to go off somewhere so that no one will be left waiting for you to continue the roleplay. This should hopefully cut down on the awkwardness of a conversation suddenly coming to a halt.7. Don't post back and forth between two characters only for more than about 3 posts each. If two people carry on the roleplay without everyone else, it will be hard for others to catch up and our unity will be lost. Let's try and stay organized and keep together!8. Put a <3 in your profile if you read all the rules. And title your private messages as "Into the Woods I Have Wandered"9. You can have 2 characters at max, but not at first. If someone drops out of the roleplay, then the remaining members may begin filling in empty spots.10. Try to stay active, but if some emergency arises, please pm me about it and i will let the others know.11. If you're going to talk Out Of Character, place them in parentheses. (( Like this )) or some other form of breaking it from your character. 12. If you're going to have your character's picture in every post (which is a good thing to do for me to remember what exactly you look like), try not to let the picture exceed 350x500 pixels. You can adjust the size of pictures through photobucket by saving them to your account then editing if you don't have another way to do it. 13. Try to have at least three lines in every post, but writer's block is understandable. I may have quite a few rules in this thread, but none of them say to write very very large posts.
If you are to break any of the rules, you will receive a warning. After three warnings, you will be asked to leave the roleplay.

To keep the roleplay fair, characters will be limited to two powers that they can have. If they happened to be an angel or demon, their powers have been weakened dramatically by the strange energy that the Oran forest possesses.
This roleplay's goal is to stay together and not end up a bunch of tiny one on ones, so only 6 characters at a time will be in the thread. No, I'm not expecting every character in the roleplay to be at the exact same place at the same time(real life sure doesn't happen that way), but I don't want two characters to be on a totally different hour or season or something, so limiting the number of characters helps to control this. Character skeleton: Name: Age: Gender: Appearance(an image would be nice): Short Background: Important Additional Info:
Yes, I don't have 10 different things you have to fill out on the character profile form like some other roleplay threads have you do. Well, I figure little facts like likes and dislikes, your sexuality, your hobbies, etc. can be discovered through playing as and developing your character through the roleplay. Let your character grow here, don't force all of the information out right before the roleplay even begins. ^_^ ((To keep the thread clean, pm the profiles to me)) Characters Currently In the Woods:Name: Hermathio Kelantharos Age: 17 Gender: Male Apearance: Green hair that Hermathio was born with, Purple eyes and a green cloak with hood. Brown boats and a normal belt with a knife and water jug and rope. Pointed ears. Additional info: Born into an orphanage so he doesnt know where he came from. Even though he has pointed ears it is not known from what race he is for he not an elf. Two powers found near the age of six, the ability to control plants and summon and control all types of water. --- Name: Jeremy Charles Houston Age:22 Gender:Male Appearance(an image would be nice): Short Background: Houston's really just a kid, fresh out of college. He grew up in a little city sub-district called Cherokee Creek, and spent most of his life dreaming of the perfect future. His life wasn't particularly outstanding in any way, except that he and his brother seemed to enjoy terrorizing each other to the point of injury, proven by the time when the two were fooling around behind the shed, Jeremy ending up fracturing his skull, and his brother Kevin tearing most of the cartilage from his knee. (That's what happens when you push each other into a pile of cinder blocks, apparently.) But ...er, anyways, his life was pretty...normal. Kinda. Important Additional Info: Jeremy is rather awkward to be around, especially at first, because he is rather shy sometimes. But when you get to know him, he can be extremely goofy to the point of cuteness. (Like when he makes this face: But anyways, he has his geeky moments... all the time. But he's not a useless nerd- he can run, and ...stuff. Well, maybe he's not all that talented, but hey, he's a cute little dork! :3 --- Name: Margarette Caerphilly Age: 23 Gender: Female Appearance(an image would be nice):MargaretteShort Background: Margarette came from a home where her parents had kicked her out as soon as they got the opportunity to because they saw that she was going to be a financial burden to support. Margarette ended up hooking up with a creeper for a while until she could finally pull off the task of stealing his air ship and taking to the skies for adventure. She isn't the best at surviving on her own, but she somehow manages to keep herself from dying or getting killed in even the toughest of situations. Margarette's one lucky pirate. Important Additional Info: She has a dagger, but that is really her only weapon. She's very friendly, and somewhat overly-trusting of people. She'll do anything she can to help someone in need, and only be looking to gain something out of the deal for herself some of the times! --- Name:Eries Renian Age:20 Gender:Female Appearance: Short Background:The last thing Eries remembers before finding herself in the Oran Forest was being caught in a sudden blizzard during her family vacation. It was supposed to be a fun outing of night skiing, but the freak storm rolled in and, after being separated from her family, trying to find them through the blinding snow, Eries found herself in a strange forest instead. Important Additional Info:Eries has a quick mind, and her strength lies not so much in fighting, though she took a few self-defence classes, but in analyzing a situation and finding favorable outcomes. (Chess was a favorite game of hers.) The only problem with this strategy is that when she panics, it's all too easy to make some very bad mistakes. And she can very easily psych herself out.

You don't remember exactly how, but you know that you've seen this place before on a map. Too bad for you, you can only picture a very vague image of it. The darker the green, the higher up into the mountain the forest would go. You're not sure how it's there, but you recall being informed that a swamp is somewhere in the woods. Is that even logical? A swamp on the edge of a mountain? How many other strange physical features does this area posses...? Better keep this mental map in mind so that you can keep track of your basic location...**intro/rules/characters/map/save points/etc.**

Save Points are places in the story/roleplay that will be linked back to the post as a checkpoint for the events that may occur. For instance, if an important/memorable event happens on pg. 22 it will be linked back here into this post. This also organizes important things that one might have missed while they were away.
So far... nothing has happened with the NPCs yet. But don't be too surprised when events do occur! **intro/rules/characters/map/save points/etc.**

No events have happened in the Oran Woods. The Goddess will make herself known to us when she deems it necessary. Make sure to keep the Goddess' actions in mind as your character proceeds...
And as another random note, you might want to find other roleplay threads to join as well as this one because there most likely will be times where we will need to wait on someone to post. This is just a warning in advance.
I will be reviewing character apps tomorrow or the very next time that I log back on. Feel free to send them for now, but please do not post until the Goddess of Oran calls you here.

Hermathio Calantros walks into the woods looking around him. He looks at himself to find only a belt with a knife, jug, and rope. He notices he has his favorite green tunic the orphanage gave hime and his boots. He remembers the vision and continues forward, still extremely confused.

"Woh..." Margarette had to sit down on the ground and catch her breath. The vision she had just seen had both thrilled her and frightened her. Dirt from the ground and dew from the grass clung to her brightly colored coat as she made herself comfortable, or as comfortable as she could get, in her new environment. She'd just been in her ship, all comfortable and warm, and now she was in a forest more grand than she had ever seen in her life. The trees were immense, and looked old and majestic in the way they towered above her, dominating the landscape. The ground itself wasn't flat, it sloped up and had bumpy hills here and there... which would make sense according to that strange mental map she had been seeing of this bizarre new place. She ran a hand through her curly brown hair as part of a nervous habit she could not seem to break. This place seemed like it might be something of a challenge to survive in, especially if it was being 'ravaged by dark beasts' as the woman in the vines had put it. Finally she stood, with a new-found desire to find anyone else that might have been dumped here by that woman. "Hello~? Is anyone there?" She called at her loudest yell, her voice booming through the trees. Sometimes there was some advantage to being a loud mouth.

Hearing a loud voice echo through the trees, he remembers what the goddess said about the monsters and why he was called. He pulls his knife out and cautiously walks in the direction of the voice. He hears a ruffling in the leaves past the tree he's next to and sees a shadow of a distorted figure on the other side. He walks around to the other side only to find himself glancing up at the sun shifting through the trees and falls over a root, at the mercy of the yelling figure.

Jeremy Houston collapsed backwards against a tree, clutching his head. His eyes were unfocused, as he was feeling extremely dazed at the moment, and perhaps a little nauseous. Well, that was what probably happened when you felt like you had been picked up and thrown into another world, first taken through some sort of mental wormhole. He shuddered at the vision he had witnessed, the sight of the woman tangled in the thorny vines. He shuddered as in his mind's eye, he replayed the scene over and over. Where had that vision come from? His head was swimming, like it had that one time when he had been invited to a frat party back in his college days... there had been drugs everywhere, and Jeremy, who had lived a very sheltered childhood, had been overwhelmed by all of the fumes. The feeling was very much the same now, and he fought the urge to be sick. It took him several minutes to steady himself, and the only reason he withdrew from his mind was that he heard a strange sound, a sort of bird call he had never heard before. At least, that's what he thought it was. Jeremy opened his eyes, and wished that he hadn't. He wasn't at home, that was for sure. He was surrounded by nothing but trees, nothing but wild nature. Trees stood tall and sentinel-like overhead, taller than any he'd ever seen back home in Cherokee Creek. Vines seemed to climb a majority of the trunks, hanging lazily from branches and waving in a slight breeze that seemed to waft through the canopy. Twigs and leaves crunched underfoot as he stumbled backwards, back into the tree again. What was going on? Where was he? What had happened? His soft gray eyes were wide with what could only be taken as fear, for that was what was coursing through him right now. That, and a twinge of curiosity. His fingers curled into the rough bark of the tree as he tried to steady himself. He was completely and utterly lost, and this forest looked nothing at all like the vegetation native to his home. He was, quite simply, lost.

A sudden thud and crunching of leaves from behind her caused Margarette to jump, but she turned around eagerly to see what had fallen despite her shock. A strange man with odd, green hair and an even more odd get-up had fallen over onto the ground. As strange as she thought he looked, Margarette decided that it would be best to offer him help. He might be one of those other people that woman had spoke about!
She sprinted over to the man, offering out a hand. "Yo! It's great to see someone else in here! Need any help?" She flashed a wide, silly grin.

Looking up at the outstretched hand before him he's not only glad to now have a partner, but also that he didn't have to go around stabbing any monsters. After having the strange girl in pirate garb help him up, he picks up the knife he dropped and placed it back in his sheathe. He then takes a better look at the girl and realizes she's tougher than she looked at first glance. He's not surprised on whom the goddess chose. Though he is confused why he would be chosen. When he was whisked away from the orphanage all his worries were now changed. With his birthday in a few months the orphanage was about to make him leave. He had his family there basically. With nowhere else to go, he had no where to turn to. He couldn't tell anyone about his powers or he would just be locked up in psychiatric ward. And if he were to prove it he would be tested on by the government. He thought being a gardener would be fun. But people would begin to get suspicious when they're plants grew to quickly.. He's suddenly snapped to reality when he realized he was absentmindedly playing with his powers again. The grass he had been staring at was now over two feet tall. He quickly looked away and let it be, hoping the girl hadn't noticed. If she did she would probably just leave her like all the rest. He now returns her goofy grin with one of his own, hoping with everything she didn't see.

"So, you from around here? I've never seen anyone quite like you before." She meant this all in a friendly way, but sometimes her word choices were a bit unthoughtful and blunt. She looked all around them, taking in all of the green surrounding them from every direction. Her dark orange coat and hat stuck out horribly against it all. For her sake, she hoped she wouldn't be forced to try and hide from anything. That wasn't her fighting style anyways. As she had been observing the surrounding area, she thought she could see another person on a level lower than where they were standing looking very confused and overwhelmed. "Hey, I think I see someone down there!" She sat down on the ledge and put her hands at the sides of her mouth to amplify her voice. "Hey! You down there! Look up!" The guy she was calling to had been leaning back against a tree looking mighty fearful and worried. Hopefully knowing that someone else was here would help him out a bit. ((OOC: I found some pics for what the area we're in right now would probably look like. The more cleared out areas and a view from below. It isn't so dense in here that we won't be able to see which direction we're going. And we haven't run upon any cursed zones yet, thankfully. Which is where a lot of the monsters would be. Hope the visuals help anyone other than myself! XP ))

Puzzled at her question, Hermathio looks around and can't imagine anyone could live here and leave the forest so perfectly untouched. Before he can answer the girl yells to someone below and he quickly follows over to the cliff to see who she is speaking to. He finds a normal man, completely unaware of his surroundings. He wonders if he saw the vision or if he has just arrived and is still processing everything. He was going to help the man up and when he thought about it he accidentally grew a small bean stalk from the ground below the cliff. He loved that story of Jack.. but he really did need to keep his powers in check before one of them noticed it. He really did need them on his side here but with all the plants everywhere it was extremely difficult not to grow and help every plant around him. When he felt the plants around him with his powers he realized he had unconsciously been pulling the water in the underground stream to every plant around him within 30 feet. He didn't stop those because the plants felt like they needed it and the boy and girl couldn't see it. The plants here though.. it's not just like they needed the water.. it's like they were asking him for it. The plants felt like part of something bigger here. Like instead of being a bunch of trees and plants congregated together to make a forest, it felt like they were more than that. A forest. Almost as if everything around him was circled in onto one conscious and that everything worked in equilibrium with each other. It was.. beautiful.
