Bara the Mercenary Captain

The wraparound porch of the old-looking farmhouse known as "The Big House." It's the way into the Big House, and a normal sight is Mr. D sitting on the porch at a pinochle table, playing with Chiron and some satyrs. Occasionally, he has a new camper play with him, or even a few old campers that come to challenge him. It's one of the first places that new campers become acquainted with.

 Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass…
Silly girl …it's about learning how to dance in the rain. Aoi smiled as she skipped onto the porch, much faster than Nathaniel - almost losing him when she sped up to catch up to him. "Hello Mr. D-sama!" she cheerfully announced as the grumpy god looked up, "Eh - move it Amy Mirani," he said with a dismissive wave, "We're playing pinochle!" Aoi giggled, "Silly! I already told you my name is Aoi Minami, A-O-I M-I-N-A-M-I!" She happened to be the one girl who just wasn't bothered by Mr. D's name-twisting, much to his disappointment. She playfully smiled as she gave a wave to Chiron, "Hello Chiron-sama! Felsic-kun and I brought you something!" she said as she made a gesture behind her before noticing that he wasn't quite as fast as she was. "Gomenasai Felsic-kun!" Aoi quickly apologized as she bowed her head, "I didn't mean to outrun you!" Despite her words, she didn't mean it in a harmful or 'I'm better than you' manner, but rather in a sincere apology form. "Do you still has the tori?" she asked, using the wrong form of the verb. Aoi looked at Nathaniel with worried eyes, hoping he wasn't angry with her for running too fast.
(( I think that sounded a tad bit godmoddish >< I so don't mean it though ^^; Sorry! Just edit my post if it did Star - I'm still a bit tired XD ))

+Nathaniel allowed Aoi to make it to the porch ahead of him. He didn't really mind. Besides, he didn't run very much if he could help it. He gave the girl a smile as he walked up next to her, the wounded bird in his hands. "It's fine." "What could you possibly want, Nate Fenner?" Dionysus asked in a demanding sort of tone, obviously mad at being interrupted during a game of pinochle. The redhead completely ignored him, turning to Chiron. "We, ah, found a wounded bird out in the courtyard. Would you mind caring for it until it's wing heals?"

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass…
Silly girl …it's about learning how to dance in the rain. Aoi nodded, "Hai - please do," she said as she gave Chiron a bow of respect, greatly hoping he would. If he didn't, she could definitely sneak the bird into her cabin - being as she was the only child there anyways. Aoi cocked her head sideways as Dionysus called Nathaniel 'Nate Fenner'. "Ah! Mr. D-sama! You're so silly, his name is Nathaniel Felsic!" she quickly corrected with a chuckle. Aoi looked at Chiron, hoping he would take in the bird she had already grown attached to. "I wonder what gender it is.." she muttered softly, thinking of unisex names.

+Dionysus waved a hand. "Of course it is, Ashley Mimi." Nathaniel rolled his eyes before returning his attention to Chiron. "Of course I'll care for him! If you'd like to visit, he'll be in my office." The centaur took the bird from him and disappeared into the Big House in his wheelchair, taking the creature with him. Nathan turned away, running a hand through his hair. "Is there anywhere you would like me to take you?" +

Silly girl …it's about learning how to dance in the rain. Aoi happily thanked Chiron many times, "Arigato Chiron-sama! I am indebt to you!" after he wheeled away to care for the creature. She looked at Nathaniel, "Ah - iie, I'm fine Felsic-kun. I can get around well. Though I wonder where Ace-kun is.." the cheerful girl murmured as she had a thoughtful look on her face. She hadn't seen the son of Hades after their first meeting, which made her rather sad. She quite liked his company, but she was sure she'd see him sooner or later. Aoi gave a friendly wave to Nathaniel as she skipped down the steps of the porch, "I'll see you again sometime son of Poseidon! And you shouldn't keep your past bottled up ~ It's best to tell somebody about it. Cheer up!" she said about earlier when Nathaniel had an uncomfortable look on his face when she brought his past up. Aoi gave him a smile as the friendly aura around her seemed to follow her down the steps as she disappeared.

+Nathaniel gave thew daughter of Iris a wave as she left. In all honesty, it was like the sun had disappeared behind the clouds, the girl was so cheerful. He rubbed his temple in frustration. The camp was messing with his mind. The son of Poseidon sighed before wandering away from the Big House. He needed time to himself; time to think. He made a mental note to visit the bird later on as he went. +

+Nathaniel let go of Adele's wrist as thy neared the porch. As usual, Mr. D and Chiron were playing pinochle with two very nervous-looking satyrs. The god's sour gaze turned in Nathan's direction. "Back again so soon, Nate Fenner?" Nathaniel gritted his teeth, reminding himself that throwing a tantrum in front of this particular god might get him turned into a dolphin or something of the sort. He turned away from him and looked at Chiron. "Is the wounded bird from the other day getting better?" The centaur nodded. "He's recovering spectacularly. I'll go get him for you." And with that, he wheeled away from them into the building, leaving the son of Poseidon with a god he would enjoy strangling, two satyrs chewing on a tablecloth, and a daughter of Athena who kept ruining his cloth-like items. Oh joy. +

Adele followed Nathaniel as she walked with him, well, it was a bit of a tug as he had randomly grabbed her wrist and quickly came to the porch. She chuckled as they walked up before losing her smile very soon in the room with Dionysus and Chiron. She was never the best around adults, especially one like Dionysus as she tensed a bit when he called her, "Abby Ross, you're here too?" he said with a dismissive wave as she followed closely behind Nathaniel as she waited for Chiron who came back out with a little bird. It was very cute, and Adele couldn't help but smile at the little thing as she looked at Nathaniel, "Does it have a name?" she asked.
Of course I'm happy,
At least, in front of everyone else I am..

+Nathaniel pursed his lips, taking the bird in his arms. I's wing seemed to be improving, though its eye was a goner. He sighed softly, his hand running over the bird's feathers soothingly. "I assumed Aoi would have thought of a name by now. I don't even know its gender," he murmured, slightly grumpy. The redhead was not used to being responsible for much more then himself and his mother, much less a wounded bird. Humph. And in his eyes, it was not cute at all; just another creature that he was unable to dismiss as ugly. +

Adele quietly giggled as she watched Nathaniel hold the bird. It was rather charming to see him look so calm with the poor creature. She chuckled, "Grown quite fond of the bird aren't you?" she asked with a giggle, he almost looked like a father - almost. She laughed, "That daughter of Iris sounds interesting," she replied with a laugh as she looked at the cute bird and made a soft cooing noise as she petted the bird's feathers with a smile.
Of course I'm happy,
At least, in front of everyone else I am..

+Nathaniel gave a grumpy huff as he stroked the bird. He was about as fond of it as he was of Dionysus - and that would be considered an insult towards the bird. As for being a father, well, he didn't consider himself the father type at all. More the brooding "I-will-deal-with-children-if-I-must" type. Perhaps it was hereditary? The redhead handed Adele the bird; it was rude to hog the bundle of wounded joy. "She is interesting enough - she and your fake personality would get along well," he replied briskly, folding his arms across his chest, in no way going to hold the creature once more. +

Adele laughed as she watched his reluctantly stroke the poor little bird. She took the bird after he handed to her as she made another soft cooing noise towards it as she stroked it with two fingers. What a lucky bird, if nobody had found it - it'd just be another dead thing in the world. Adele as she glanced over towards Nathaniel, still petting the bird, "Ah? It seems that I should meet her then," she said with a smirk. Somebody who got along well with her fake personality? Sounded interesting enough. Adele looked at Nathaniel again, "Do want to hold it?" she offered as her gray eyes looked up from the bird she happened to be cooing at.
Of course I'm happy,

+ Nathaniel snorted softly. The bird couldn't get any luckier, being saved from a likely death later on because of its wing. He brushed off a stray feather from his sleeve, pursing his lips. "I think I've had my fair share of bird holding for one afternoon. Time to return it to Chiron, I think."

Adele laughed as she nodded, "Sure thing," she replied to Nathaniel as she went to hand the wounded bird back. "Chiron? The er - bird.." she murmured as he glanced at Adele and gave her a smile, and took the bird off her hands as he disappeared to place it back into wherever he got it from. She looked around the porch, "Shall we go now?" she asked Nathaniel, but she wasn't quite sure as to where to go exactly.
