Aradia left her house quietly with her fishing-style hat on and her backpack slung around her shoulders. The small girl walked slowly to Prof. Oak's lab, in a daze. I wonder what pokemon I will get. I hope not a fire type, so scary, she thought to herself as she knocked on the labratory door.

Jackie Flannagen "So this is where the infamous Oak Family lives...I need to go and pick up a pokedex from him..."
Wandering into the town she found the road to Prof. Oak's Lab. She could already see another girl knocking on the door to the Lab.

When an answer didn't come from the door, Aradia tapped the door with her knuckles again. Maybe he isn't there, she wondered just as the door was pulled open, revealing Prof. Oak. "Oh, are you both here to get your starter pokemon? Come in, come in," he greeted, stepping aside for the girls to enter. Aradia blinked and turned her head to look at the other girl; she hadn't noticed that there was somebody else there. "Hello."

 Jackie Flannagen "Hey!"
Jackie smiled at the girl. They walked into the Lab
"Hi professor. I'm not here for a pokemon. I was sent to get a Pokedex. I'm Jackie Flannagen...my father Robert might have sent a message earlier that I was coming."
Smiling she followed Prof. Oak into the next room.

Jackie Flannagen Jackie looked at her smiling and shrugged
"My Da is a breeder. When his vileplume's egg hatched he let me take the oddish for a first pokemon."
Smiling at her she continued.
"What kind of pokemon are you getting?"

Aradia nodded. "That's nice of him. I'm hoping for a water type." "Sorry, but the water type was taken already," Oak said cheerfully. "Oh, then the grass type." "Also taken." Aradia blinked at him and frowned. "Surely you have something left." Instantly, Oak shoved a charmander into her arms, causing her to shreik, "A fire type!"

"That's for Aradia to decide," Oak replied, pointing to the horrified girl. Why is he still smiling, the sadistic creep! Aradia thought furiously. "I guess...I'll call you....Terch," the new trainer told the charmander, who didn't look too pleased with his odd name. "Etch for short." Etch looked a bit happier.

Jackie smiled.

 Jackie Flannagen "Hey!"
She thanked Prof. Oak and she followed her out the lab. She caught up to her. Letting out her Oddish she walked with her.
"Whats wrong? You seem kinda annoyed."

"Hate...Fire-types?"
She gaped at Aradia.
"Why?"
