Little bat-flowers grow in the shade of the larger plants living throughout the garden. A small epidemic of them is sucking the life out of the rest. It seems darker in the garden now.

Day - 17 To the staff tending the gardens:An as-of-yet unincorporated species, known as the Laelese Bat-Flower, has begun to sprout all over the wing. Although not usually found in bulk, the flowers seem to live in large patches underneath the larger plants' leaves, in the shade. Some investigation should be made on the subject. Also, some of the brighter plants have been wilting and losing color.. Are you using that special mixture I procured? If not, start now. ~Head Botanist, Cynthia M.ps: Would somebody fix the damned lights? It's dark as black a sheep's arse in here.

Reply the helpSorry, miss M. There's nothing we can do about the lights. We've interchanged them dozens of times, but it doesn't get any brighter. ~Angel Juarez the helpps: Have you seen David anywhere?

Recording from a sound diary of campus police chief, Nathaniel Mer.
>About a week ago, a garden attendee by the name of David Carmona went missing. The only word we have is from his coworker, Angel Juarez. He says that when he last spoke to him, he was acting strange. Talking about voices in the night and shadows watching him. How the ******** does that work even? Like, how do you know if a shadow is watching you? Frickin weirdo.. Guy probably just ran off. Oh yeah, said somethin about the mist in there too.. Music or something.. What? Oh, ye...

-Thomas Guzen- The mass of life Thomas entered the biological garden. The place was darker then a place growing plants should be. But he didn't really mind. It was better for him when it was dark. Less of a chance to dry up here. He was supposed to have his biology class here, would be better to be around suck diverse plant life in his teachings. He looked around at the plants in the wing, noticing something a bit odd. Some of the plants look like they were wilting away, but that wouldn't make sense with the treatment they were getting. "Maybe a parasitic plant?" He asked himself.

-Thomas Guzen- The mass of life Thomas, seeing that none of the students were here yet, looked through the garden for anything that could be causing the degeneration of the plant life in the garden. He looked for the plants that had degraded and wilted the most. Then he had found what he was looking for. Patches of flowers that were growing under one of the trees. "Parasitic flowers?" He asked himself, leaning down to look at them. He reached into a satchel he was carrying that had some of his tools in it. He pulled out a small hand shovel and jar. He dug up two of the flowers and put them in the jar, wanting to observe them later.

The misty air twitched as he plucked the flowers from their soil. The plants around the two holes leaned in slightly and the air let out a sigh like it had been let down by it's child.

-Thomas Guzen- The mass of life Thomas was going to dig up some more of the flowers when he heard the sighing noise. "Interesting." He said to himself as he stood back up. Something felt wrong here, somewhat like he was being watched by someone. "Is anyone there?" He asked.

The mist responded with silence. The room seemed to close in around him as if it were breathing. Faint sounds like a ship groaning under pressure and wind chimes rang through the stagnant air. What seemed like the shadows of plants before shifted and edged out of sight.

-Thomas Guzen- The mass of life Thomas just stood there, watching everything that was happening around him. Instead of worrying about that he was thinking more about the plants. As he looked around he noticed more of the flowers around the garden. "Who would plant parasitic flowers here?" He questioned not to himself, but to whoever might also be in the room.

A small shadow formed through the mist and peered down at the ugly pits in the ground. It vibrated with a noise like feedback in microphones. The bright plants nearby cringed and crumpled, and the two holes filled with small bat-flowers. A misty hand lovingly stroked the new flowers and they hugged it like a mother.

The noise slowed. The shadow turned and looked at him, the sound turning to match the quiet tune already floating in the air. The flowers turned to him and the mist began to crawl up his legs as long spidery arms.
