Rubbing her throbbing forehead, she gazed around the room.

Whoa...



As if this place hadn't felt enough like a dream.
"What kind of dorm comes pre-tricked out?" She mused aloud, caressing one of the hanging lights as she passed.



She sat on the edge of the bed, slowly processing the sheer amount of space surrounding her. It was so big in here. The ceilings were so high, at least 15 feet, and the sunlight spilled in from all around through the surrounding windows. She loved all the wood flooring and walls, and the fact that her bed was buried in a back corner leaving the whole rest of the room so wide open made it this amazing space for dancing. Her heart filled up and her smile grew wider and wider until it cracked into a full grin and she kicked off her shoes, leapt off the bed with a spin, and slid across the floor to the window, gazing in rapture over the clouds as they drifted by below.

Sojourn West~

Sojourn let out a deep sigh that was two parts relief one part frustration. His first day had been a long one and orientation had one to many welcome speeches for his taste. Not that he wasn't incredibly excited to be at Northern Star Academy, but he was also incredibly tired from the journey and he had become quite lost before finally finding the dorm he had been assigned to.
"Finally!" He muttered as he retrieved his dorm key. It was an old Victorian style key. He fit it into the lock and attempted to turn it but nothing happened. He paused and struggled with it some more.
"Why...?!" He exclaimed as he continued to struggle with the lock. Finally there came a click and the door creaked open. The door may have been old, and in need a new lock and hinges, but beyond was an astounding sight: a living room of fantastic proportions with bright raw wood floors, walls and ceiling tiles.
"Wow." he exclaimed while stepping inside, eyes wide with astonishment. "We didn't even have lockers at my old school. . ." He gazed around for some seconds before calling out "Hello? Anyone home?"

Sojourn West~

Sojourn looked up at the girl with long dark hair standing at the top of the staircase. She had large eyes, a slight build and had a pair of headphones perched around her neck. He smiled at her and said "Hi there! My name is Sojourn, Sojourn West. Are you Aidan? I think I'm your dorm buddy...?"

Sojourn West~

Sojourn instinctively took a slight step backward, a little surprised by Aidan's rapid descent. He stared at her outstretched hand for a moment and then shook it heartily. "It's nice to meet you too! And, yeah...umm sorry if this was a surprise. I was set to room in a different dorm at first but there was some confusion..." He gave an embarrassed grin and shook his head.
He let go of her hand looked around again, still astonished by the posh environment of the dorm. "It's so beautiful here! What a shame, you had this whole space to yourself till I arrived..."

Sojourn West~

Sojourn let out a hearty laugh at Aidan's words. He felt more relaxed after hearing the humorous comment. "Ah, well that is good to hear! I'm happy to fill some space and help you avoid that carbon foot print!" He then fished a crumpled paper from his pocket and opened it. He paused for a moment and inspected what was printed on it and then said "Looks like. . . I'm in B."

"No worries, I can. . . do it myself. . . later!" Said Sojourn as he laboriously lugged an enormous overstuffed duffel bag across the dorm over to his room before tossing it inside. He sighed and then grinned for he was now free from responsibility for the rest of the day. He turned back to Aidan and said "I feel like doing something more fun!"
