Paranoid from the start

I wish I could walk to the light right now
Too afraid to depart
On my own in the dark

I agree, it does feel unfinished... Although, I can't think of how to fix that. I love your parallel structure! Also, by the end of that, it must have been hard to find "ar" words!
Definitely creative!
