Kiyomi Uzumaki lay lazily on the damp, icy grass, gazing wistfully at the night sky completley dominated by stars, along with that big 'ol moon smack bang in the center. It didn't even bother her that the grass was damp and freezing her butt off, she's went through a lot worse. Infact, as long as she had peace and somewhere to watch the moon she would gladly lay on a bed of needles. Her legs crossed at her ankles, and the girl at 4"8 heigh stretched her entire body out, toes pointed. Her arms rested behind her head as her head was tilted slightly staring upwards. Her black bangs floated in between her eyes, and the rest of her hair was laying ontop of her arms, reaching down onto the grass. She also didn't care if her hair got wet. It was just hair. It could always dry again. She was the only one in the park, and it was deadly silent apart from the sound of soft, stirring water. It relaxed her, soothed her thoughts from her hectic everyday lifestyle. Most people have never seen this side to her, a stoic, calm side. Infact it would scare them if they did see it. Regardless, she didn't care. She never gave a damn about anyone and how they thought of her, just one of her many antics. If anyone did see her they would probably tell her to get home to her family or something, and that a young girl like herself shouldn't be out here on her own, blah blah blah. Truth be told, the dark haired girl didn't have a family, no one to comfort her at the end of the day, no one to tell her everything would be alright. No one to care and love her. She hated those people. They looked down on her like she was some insignificant brat, with no real purpose in her life other to cause trouble for everyone else. They were wrong. She shook her head. These thoughs were becoming overwhelming, and she usually banned these kind of thoughs from entering her mind. She needed to stay positive, determined. She wouldn't let something like not having a family get her down and those demeaning adults to demolish her dreams. Her deep blue eyes glittered against the moon light, shading her face effectively in a pale tone of blue.

She rolled over to her side, the moonlight now dimly lighting her profile.
She focused on a small strand of grass painted in dew, reached her hand forward and began to twirl it. She let go of it, and stared at it for a moment. She took a deep breath and turned her head back towards the moon. After daydreaming from what seemed like forever, she shot upwards, sitting forward and scanning her surroundings. She forgot where she was for a moment. Her gaze averted to the crystal blue pond infront of her, where the moon's hazy reflection was painted on it. The water rippled gently, backwards and forwards, and the moon done the same. She smiled to herself. She loved this atmosphere, she loved this park. She lay back down again with a calm heart and steady mind, closing her eyes momentarily taking it all in. She wouldn't let herself fall asleep, but she would just rest for a while before going back to her appartment. She preffered night to day, so it was nice to get to bask in it's natural beauty before dawn slowly cracked, and eventually broke through it. She used to lay out there the whole night without sleeping, just staring at the sky. Then, once dawn broke those seams, she'd go home and sleep. Maybe when she woke up go train, get ramen. Do something until the moon came back out to play. She still didn't have a team yet or a sensei, after all she only graduated from the academy a while back so she guessed it would take a while before she was assigned those things. She couldn't wait, to finally show what she was capable of and to prove everybody wrong. It made her adrenaline rush just thinking about it. She oozed energy and confidence, it was just a matter of releasing it.

She opened her eyes. A firefly fluttered past her face, skimming her nose. She smiled, and watched as it buzzed freely towards the sky, free to do whatever it pleases. She sighed contently and shifted in her position, getting more comfortable as she continued to watch the sky with interest. Not a cloud in sight.

Akio smiled as they walked into the entrance of the park together, it was cold and quite a wind hand picked up for this time of night. His hair was blowing about in the strong wind and had he a coat on he probably would have offered her it to help keep her warm just out of the sheer fact that he had very strong morals and disliked seeing anyone else being uncomfortable. Unless of course they happened to be uncomfortable because they were the butt of his latest joke or prank. He made a short mental note that he hadn't pulled anything particularly epic lately and he would have to start planning his next one soon otherwise he might just end up getting rusty. And a rusty Akio was a boring Akio by all accounts. The cool night time breeze felt good, if he was alone he'd probably actually seriously consider a brisk night time skinny dip. It wouldn't be the first time someone had seen him in a compromising position anyhow. The thought brought a tiny little bit of colour to his otherwise slightly pale features, which had been caused by him spending too much time on shady dealings while off on his missions, sneaking around and taking people out...That sort of thing. Unfortunately he also had a habit of making the biggest, loudest entrance possible every time so it was really a wonder that he did well as a ninja at all. He decided to try and fill the silence with a little friendly chatter while he thought. "Nice night for a stroll huh? A little cold for my liking but since when has that ever stopped me?" He could distinctly remember one time when they were younger. He couldn't have been more then 15 at the time and he had been dared by someone to dive bomb into a lake during the dead of winter in nothing but his underpants. A terrible idea, but he earned five bucks out of it so it was worth it in his eyes.

He looked back once more, more of a glance really but he had taken her hand once more as they had left the ramen store only this time he made absolutely shure that he did not drag her and let her walk at his own pace. He was sober enough to know better now and his staggering had ceased. All in all it hadn't taken him very long to sober up, it never did and although he didn't particularly want her to let go he was still holding just loosely enough so that she could remove her hand from his if she so wished to, and in his usually rather blank mind it was more a "when" then an "if" especially if the last time was any indication to go by, he could just hope that maybe him allowing her to go at her own pace would be enough to not put her off. His other hand was firmly stuffed into his pocket in an attempt to try and keep it warm. It was late and very dark, who knows what kind of bad people could be lurking around in the shady areas just waiting to attack a passer by and rob them. Some part of him kind of hoped they did, because between the two of them they had literally nothing to fear from common robbers and muggers and it would almost be a sort of sport for them to see who could take down the most before they ran screaming.

It had been quite some time since the pair had fought side by side and he sort of missed that, they did make a pretty good team after all. He bit his lip softly as he mused over the days happenings and he couldn't quite shake the feeling that she didn't take his earlier confession of often missing her when he went away as seriously as he had hoped. He did indeed mean it, how couldn't he? He could feel that familiar burning sensation deep within his gut once more, and for once it wasn't just heart burn. He hadn't felt this way in many years but the feeling was unmistakable. He felt the overwhelming need to prove himself and to get serious for once, he would have to make the most of this feeling now before it flickered away again like a candle in a strong wind. He pondered on which aspect of himself would be best to try and clarify first, and the only one that could come to mind just so happened to be the biggest. He would explain how and why deep down he wasn't really a "player" and he knew just how to get the conversation started. "So uhhh....I don't think I ever asked you this. But do you have a dream? I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours." He smiled, he couldn't think of a better way to break the ice. Considering his dream was to settle down and have a family, which would hopefully dispel the misconception that he was a player once he explained it fully.

======================================================
±: Rukia walked in along side Akio to the park. It was rather chilly, and quite windy. Her long black hair raged and became one with the wind, blowing in every direction, and whipping infront of her face constantly so she had to brush those troublesome tendrils away. That was what she used her spare hand for, instead of trying to keep it warm burrowed into her pocket, however instead she tucked her head into her poloneck in a desperate need for warmth. Akio was once again latched onto her hand, although it was loose. She could easily slip her hand out at any time but she decided not to, his hand was keeping hers warm. Infact, she clutched his tighter. She wasn't wearing gloves like she usually does, so no matter what he may assume she tightened her grip out of bitter coldness. Her teeth began to chatter as the wind whipped at her flesh, it wasn't the same kind of cold you would get during winter, but more of a late summers' night wind that was 100% relentless. Apart from the stifling breezy wind, she thought it was a beautiful night. A full moon was out, glimmering brilliantly and shading everything in a tonal blue colour, the same shade of Akio's eyes. Stop. Did she actually just think that? Where the hell did that come from? She burrowed her head deeper into her poloneck as her cheeks rose into a crimson colour.

It wasn't this cold back into town, but she assumed that was because of all the people and flashing signs that brought an illusion of warmth, and it worked. Her cheeks began to redden from the cold air. Her skin disliked the wind and harsh weather conditions, it was inevitable that it would take some sort of physical toll on her body. Her pale complexion was now tainted with pink cheeks and they would be there until she retreated back to the warmth. Her eyes darted beside her to look at Akio as he spoke, irritation clawed at her stomach. How he was so determined and tenacious greatly vexed her, remaining completely positive regardless the situation. Even during missions when they were younger, he would never give up. Buried under that, however is his trademark undying cockiness which crawled under her skin even more. But, she's learned to ignore his stubborn and cocky antics when it calls for it. When she was younger, she'd lash out at him or give him some kind of grief when he acted like that, but now she'd just sit back and roll her eyes. He's still as immature as he ever was, but in a strange way she liked him when he was like that. They completely contradicted each other. They were a walking paradox, and most people who knew them well knew this. You know what they say, opposites attract. She was clinging on to that saying as if her life depended on it, since that's really the only excuse they had. She didn't really care though, she'd be his friend regardless if he'd be hers.

"Huh? Oh yes... Yeah, it's beautiful." She finally replied, forgetting all together he said it. "Never I guess," She said softly biting her lip, then laughed. Her voice was soft, gentle. She usual spoke in a very intimidating manner, but with Akio she could be herself whenever and wherever. With anyone else she would continue to speak that way but with him she just dropped it and spoke as her throat stung with each word, not bothering to hide it in the slightest. It was true, it didn't stop him. The amount of wild and crazy things he had done in their youth was... Astonishing. On some level admirable. He'd literally do anything, whether it be for money even more so. She didn't understand him at all, but she guessed that is what made them so compatible. She thought back to the incident at the Ramen Shop, and she actually found herself reconsidering. Could he have been serious? She found it impossible for her to think so. Sure they were good friends and everything but she doubted that's the reason he wants back from missions early. He just wants back to his booze and return to his usual routine of one night stands, nothing more, nothing less. It most certainly wouldn't have anything to do with her. He can't even remember about plans they had so she convinced herself that he was joking and didn't allow herself to ponder it further.

There was a heavy tension that lingered in the area, she didn't know if Akio could sense it or not. From what she could see there didn't seem to be any one in the area, plus it was too quiet. She looked at him again with high hopes, hoping that he would say something important or serious. She'll admit she was a little taken back by his question, it was such an odd thing to say. She wondered what egged him to ask something like that. She raised her eyebrow and frowned slightly as she answered him.
"No you haven't asked me that... A... Dream? I, um..." She honestly didn't know what to say, she never really thought about it before. But she might as well tell him what she thought right now, since she never thought about it long term. "I guess... I just want to be the best I can be in life. Nothing beyond that, really. I guess also I'd want to settle down some day... Y'know, when I'm bored with the whole shinobi life... Maybe raise a family or something like that." She answered him and finished with a nervous laugh. It felt weird saying that, but being in his presence it just blurted out, like she couldn't stop it. "What are yours?" She unintentionally blurted out once again, realising she must sound desperate after what she just revealed to him. Her voice was still raspy, so that added to the embarrassment tenfold. She placed a pale slender hand onto her face and looked away in embarrassment, trying to hide her face from his wary gaze.

Akio stifled a yawn as he realized that he hadn't actually slept since he had returned and the only thing that had been keeping him going up until this point was the booze that was running through his system. He was thankful on that level at the very least that it was cold out tonight because the brisk night time air would keep him awake and alert enough so that she wouldn't think that she was boring her. He was just lazy and that was pretty much the long and the short of it. He barely ever felt the cold anyhow, people had always chalked it up to him being so empty headed and it was true. Or at least that's what he wanted people to think. Life was just so much easier when he could do what he wanted when he wanted and not have to carry the worries that most people did. Why should he care what people were thinking of him as long as he was happy? The moment he had learned to do so during his youth was also the moment that he began being happy. Breaking down doors? Shure. Diving wearing next to nothing into freezing cold lakes? No problem. He may have ended up ill after that next one, but at the very least he got some fun out of it. This was probably the reason for him getting drunk so often and having so many one night stands as well. Akio had to have slept his way through fully half of the female population of Kiri by now and although it was pretty obvious to anyone who knew him that this was a fact it was also something that he would never actually openly admit to. And while it was something that did make him happy, it wasn't true happiness. It was just something to get him from one day to the next.

He listened to her as she agreed with him, it was a nice night to be fair and he didn't enjoy these nights nearly as much as he should do because he was usually either blitzed out of his mind or otherwise busy doing whatever. Or whoever as the case may be. He noticed the softening of her voice and he knew that probably meant that she was in a slightly better mood then she had been and that couldn't possibly be a bad thing, a smile began to creep up on his lips as he wondered what it was that had changed her mood for the better, but she was for whatever reason holding his hand tighter and although he didn't actually realize it some part of him deep down wanted it to be because of another reason besides the cold. But Akio had never been exactly in tune with his emotions, opting instead to just let them lead him wherever they happened to. It had worked just fine up until now and he was certain it would continue to work in the future, although if he were to progress he would also need to take a few aspects of his life a little more seriously. Such as perhaps toning down down the drinking before it killed him and what not. He may have been stupid and reckless at the best of times but he was still smart enough to know that dying was very bad.

The young dark haired Uzumaki waited for a little while for an answer to his question, he was beginning to wonder whether it had been a little too forward with his question and that he might have put her off. He was just in the process of opening his mouth to brush it off as nothing, or as a joke when she actually did reply to him. And her reply wasn't exactly what he had been expecting, the latter half of it wasn't anyway. His eyes went wide with a tiny amount of shock that someone such as her wanted that from life. She didn't seem the motherly type, but then again everyone had hidden depths to them and he wouldn't doubt her if that was what she said she wanted. It warmed his heart slightly to hear and filled him with courage to be able to admit that he wanted pretty much the same thing. It was just a matter of wording it. He stopped for a second in his tracks, they had reached a point that had a pretty nice view of the village regardless and he would have asked to stop for a few moments even if he didn't have anything to say. He chewed on his bottom lip as he thought, turning his attention to her once more and moving so that he was facing her, his hand still in hers. "I happen to think that's a really great dream." He needed to blurt out what he was thinking some time. And now was as good of a time as any he guessed. "Well, my goals ultimately aren't too different from your own. This will probably come as a surprise to you as it doesn't exactly seem like something that I'd ever say. Most people want to become the Hokage or the Mizukage or join the ANBU, become a Sannin or something along the lines of being a great ninja and recognized for it. And don't get me wrong, I do want to do well. But that alone won't keep me happy forever." He stopped for a moment and took a deep breath, he hadn't even noticed himself but subconsciously he had increased his grip on her hand ever so slightly, not enough to make it uncomfortable but it might still be noticable. "You know me better then anyone. But deep down I don't want to keep getting drunk out of my mind and have meaningless fling after meaningless fling. I'd actually like nothing more then to settle down some day. Have a family of my own to care for and embarrass. Being an orphan obviously means I've never known what it's like to have one. I'd like to change that some day." After he finished speaking he offered a soft smile and his eyes had that same sincere look to them that they did earlier.

He turned his face to one side, yet another light pink dusting of a blush rising on his cheeks. Only this time he was completely sober and had no other reason to blush apart from the fact that he had just shared one of his closest secrets with someone and he didn't want her to think that he was stupid for thinking that way. Akio pretty much never blushed unless he was drunk either, so when he did you could be shure that he actually meant what he had just said or done. He didn't understand why but his stomach was also doing flip flops deep inside of him, he felt like he was going to be sick with nerves and this was a feeling that was completely alien to him. It was odd how he could do something stupid like streak down the street completely stark naked and not give a damn but something as simple as this had his stomach all in knots. He decided to at the very least attempt to brush it off and he averted his gaze over to over side where he caught sight of a young dark haired girl lazing around in the grass. He couldn't help but feel that he had seen her somewhere before...He wasn't able to place his finger on where or when but she was most certainly familiar, and even though his attention was still firmly on the woman stood in front of him it was still bugging him right at the back of his mind.

======================================================
±: Rukia was still remotely faced away from him, blinking a few times in an attempt to keep the wicked wind out of her eyes and to stop them from watering uncontrollably. She hated having such sensitive eyes, it was a pain in the a** to stop them from watering since it makes her look she's crying, something she rarely does. The only time she can remember crying was when her parents and little sister were burned alive. At least she wasn't around to see it, but that dark, unforgettable moment in her life has made her what she is today. A sadistic assassin who couldn't care less about other people and their emotions. She could still smell the ash from that day, the ash of burning construction and bodies. The smoke tainted the beautifully calm, night sky with black smoke. That night, however was exactly like the night now. It brought back painful repressed memories so even if her eyes did water it wouldn't be just from the wind. As far as she knew, no one knew about the incident, and she was glad for that. She didn't need sympathy from others, one of the main reasons she hates people looking down on her or feeling sorry for her. It made her blood boil to an extent she couldn't even control.

She glanced back at Akio just in time to see him smile ever so slightly. She raised her eyebrow, wondering what is was exactly he had to smile about. Was it yet another one of his cocky trademarks mocking her? He probably could sense the weak and frailness in her voice, and she knew he would take up on any opportunity to see her broken. He loved seeing her squirm just as much as she did him, but she didn't care. Despite his cocky mannerisms, she would rather be herself around him than anyone else. She felt totally safe around him, yet another strange feeling of comfort she wasn't accustomed too. She was actually angry at herself for letting someone like him, or anyone at all in. He could decode her so easily it was beyond a joke, he could pick up on her antics like that. Usually she'd put up a cold, emotionless front that couldn't be seen through no matter who it was. But now Akio has totally shattered her defenses and left her vulnerable. She actually wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing, all she was aware of was Akio was causing her to feel a flurry of emotions that she had never felt before, or was even aware of them. Mostly positive emotions, since she was so used to living in a dark world with dark emotions, such as anger, hate, sadness. Pretty much ever since she met him he has lightened up her world for the better. She couldn't help but get a sense of fore boding, like it's not meant to last. Like everyone else in her life, at some point, he'll leave her.

Too busy thinking about this, she was a little taken back when they stopped. She had walked ahead slightly but when he stopped it caused her to fumble backwards slightly since they were still holding hands. She looked at him oddly for a second without saying anything, then took a moment to observe her surroundings while she waited. They were now at a spot where they could see the village perfectly, a rather magnificent spot if you ask her. Is that why they had stopped? She turned her head back towards him again when she noticed he was looking at her. She looked at him expectantly, and was a little shocked when he claimed to say he thought her dream was a great one. Her cheeks flushed as she kept her face down, he was directly in front of her and it made her uncomfortable. She didn't know why, but she felt awkward and uncomfortable in awkward situations, especially with no one around. She was still embarrassed about admitting one of her dreams, but it calmed her slightly when he agreed. She just hoped he was serious and not just saying that to get into her good books. She honestly thought it was a little far fetched, she couldn't see herself raising a family or getting married. It just seemed to far out of context, regardless if she wanted it or not. She looked back up at him again when he spoke once more. She bit her lip while he spoke, listening attentively and taking it all in. Once he stopped talking, she looked directly into his eyes waiting to see what he was going to say next. It interested her and she was genuinely curious. She felt a slight twinge at her hand and glanced down. He was gripping her hand tighter ever so slightly, and she pondered if what he was about to say had something to do with it. Was it something he wasn't comfortable speaking about? Or maybe it's just hard to say? She looked back at his face waiting for the answer to the question inside her head.

She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her mouth dropped open slightly as she stared at him with an empty, sceptical expression. He had to be kidding, right? He was right, she knew him inside and out but not one concealed hint about actually wanting to raise a family. It was just... Too Akio to believe. She learned to accept his wild lifestyle, but honestly what he just revealed seemed a little too out of the ordinary. She half-smiled back at him, realising some part of him must be sincere. Even still, she had to be sure.
"Are you sick?" She teased in a playful tone, placing her free, ice-cold white hand onto his forehead, as if checking for a fever. With the slight blush on his cheeks, aware that it was there probably because he was speaking some truth in his words, she used it to her advantage and she played into him having a fever. "I fear you may be coming down with something, Akio. That seemed a little unorthodox for you to be coming out with. But I suppose if that's really how you feel, then stupidly, and I know I'm going to regret this, I believe some part of what you just said is true. But still. The day you stop drinking compulsively and having flings will be the day there really is something wrong with you. But, that day will never come so it's all good." She grinned at him, with a teasing smile in her eyes. She wanted to believe it was true, and deep down, she did believe him. She followed his gaze and noticed him looking at a black haired female laying on the grass at the other side. How could she not have noticed her? Another thing she so hated, when she was around Akio she kind of forgets about her surroundings. But still, there was something very familiar about that girl. She didn't know what it was, but she had a striking resemblance to someone she knew quite well.

The young dark haired man listened to her as she spoke, her reaction was an interesting one and he had to admit that it was also not entirely a surprise to see her react in this way. His reputation was as a drinker, a player and a party animal. Anyone would have reacted in just such a way when someone such as him confessed to wanting that. It was part of the reason that he never told anyone because it was better to just keep it all to himself. He always just kind of assumed that when he wanted to finally settle down it would probably be with a girl from some other village who didn't know his reputation, someone who wouldn't look down on him or see him as a drunkard and a player and just see him as Akio Uzumaki, nothing more and nothing less. On some level Rukia did see him in just this light, something he had always appreciated but still...Her view of him was tainted by his crazy antics, even if it was in a positive light on some level he still worried that she was put off him in some way as most people were. He wasn't exactly dating material in most peoples eyes. Even if he was kind and caring to everyone, protective and all of that good stuff...It didn't do him a lick of good if his actions put people off of him before they even got to know him. He huffed slightly, looking her in her perfect and beautiful green eyes. He had always liked the colour green, he never could quite figure out why. His own deep blue orbs held within them a slight look of hurt when she pointed out that she didn't quite believe him. Even though it was technically his own fault, he still hoped that she would come to believe that he wanted something more some day. But he smiled through it, it was how he dealt with such things after all. He blushed ever so slightly deeper as she placed a hand on his forehead and shivered ever so slightly with how cold it was. He took the hand that she had placed on his forehead and removed it, keeping a hold of it so that he was now holding both of her hands, lacing his fingers between her own and shooting her a playful smile. "I'm fine Rukia, you don't need to worry about me. I was Akio Uzumaki before I started with the drinking and pointless flings and I'll continue to be Akio Uzumaki should they ever end." He did feel slightly awkward in such a position, but they were along so it's not like anyone would come in and embarrass them "So don't worry, alright? You won't be getting rid of me quite that easily." He winked at her in his slightly flirtatious manner that he tended to, but the look of sincerity was still there.

Akio turned and followed her gaze, it would seem that she too had taken notice of the young girl lying down in the grass. He just couldn't shake the unmistakable feeling that he knew her from somewhere. She did look a little like him...Perhaps she was an Uzumaki too? It would be even more obvious if she had red hair as red hair was the trademark colour of the Uzumaki clan. But with that in mind he was an Uzumaki and his hair was also as black as pitch. He looked back over to Rukia with a slight look of puzzlement of his face, she seemed to notice something about her too. Even the fact that someone as young as her was out here on her own in the dead of night. It most certainly wasn't safe and he felt that he should probably do something about it. He felt a strange pang of worry for the girl even though he had never met her before in his life to the best of his knowledge. He spoke to Rukia once more. "You see her too huh? I wonder what a young girl is doing out here all alone at this time. It can't possibly be safe...I'll be right back." He walked over to the girl, the grass was slightly damp and freezing, it was a good thing his boots were meant for the cold weather. He stopped just beside the girl and cleared his throat. "Hey there..." He held a hand out in an attempt to look friendly. "Akio Uzumaki at your service...Mind if I ask what you're doing out here at this hour all on your own? It can't really be safe..."

✦ The young dark haired Uzumaki had some how managed to let her self fall asleep, which was strange considering she was in the most uncomfortable of places. Her back was totally saturated at this point, but she really didn't care. She had a very monotonous, bored expression on her face, but really in fact she was enjoying her own company, which was strange because she was most definitely a people pleaser. She always had some sort of company, but honestly she hated it. She loved being alone in her own time and place, it gave her time to ponder life's' little wonders. People became drawn to her, since she was a prankster and the attention was always on her. But in a way, she felt... Empty by it. Sure it would be fun at the time, but she'd feel completely dead inside. She didn't have a single friend, or at least a genuine one. Despite how much she loved it being on her, she hated it in a different context. Even though she would be surrounded by people, she was still alone. It was an awful feeling to experience, which is why she never let anyone in even if they tried. She's afraid that she'll end up being all alone again, so it's just better to create a habitat in it and stay there. She desperately wanted some kind of solace, someone she could depend on, trust and confide in, but during her thirteen years of living she knew that was never going to happen, and she gave up. Trying to find a reason to care. Her general appearance and the expression on her face would tell you she didn't care, but deep down she was slowly falling apart. She became so dependant on getting attention that it became an everyday hobby. People looked at her and thought, wow, she's an attention seeking brat who doesn't care about anyone and everything. She's so conceited and arrogant. She was 100% aware she acted like that, but she was so empty inside that she stopped caring. Her expression was very unsettled as she dreamed about her days at the academy, but she quickly came back to reality when she heard voices in the far end of the park.

✦ Her eyes creeped open, slowly coming back to the land of the living. I fell asleep? She sceptically thought to herself as she rubbed her eyes, looking around before she heard the voices again. So she didn't dream them. She shot up, alarmed, and scanned the area for the source of voices in case they were threats. No one would be out at the park this late, it must have been at least 12am by this stage. Her heart stopped for a second as she stayed dead silent. Her heart surged like lightning, then she finally caught a sight of the prosecutors. Eugh. Was her initial reaction. She lay back down on the grass, rubbing her eyes. They weren't threats. Just a couple of dumb adults taking a stroll through the park. Her park. With an agitated grumble, she turned on her side, trying to block out their voices which disrupted her serenity. Yet, in another light saved her from the nightmare. People like them made her sick. In fact, adults in general made her sick. They were so stubborn and arrogant, they'd never listen to her when she needed it, they'd never support and care for her. She gritted her teeth and shut her eyes tightly, trying to block out those thoughts that were surging through her brain. She didn't need to be filled with more hate, she needed to try get rid of it. Those two idiots were not helping. She was so used to coming here alone, spending time here by herself and no one ever interrupted her. Then again, they weren't really aware she was there so it didn't matter. Just as long as they didn't notice her and confront her. She wondered though, if she knew them. She hadn't looked at them long enough to even tell what gender they were. She told herself not to look, but she gave into temptation and peered over her shoulder at the couple. Both tall, dark haired people. A girl and a boy whom she had never seen before. She had amazing hearing so she could hear every word they were saying. Oh god, they're talking mushy. They better not decided to get funky, I had like five large portions of ramen earlier and I do NOT feel like throwing it back up. She sighed irritably and flung her head back around, folding her arms like a little child and huffed. Neither of them seemed familiar, although the male seemed a little bit familiar. Whatever. She didn't care enough to consider it and she forgot almost right away. She let herself fall into another daydream, and almost forgot the couple was there. That is until she heard squelching against the grass and her eyes smashed open again like something you'd see in a horror movie, along with an unnatural agitated twitch. Please don't have noticed me, please don't have noticed me, please don't have noticed me, please just walk past me. Walk past... I'm invisible... Can't see me... Goddammit!

✦ They noticed her. Well, one of them anyway. A burning anger drove up her spine as she felt someone stand beside her. If they've come to tell me off or question me I swear to god-- They did just that. It was the male, she could tell by his voice and his breathing. She didn't turn around to look at him. As soon as he said hello, she peered her head over in curiosity and gave him one hell of a spiteful look. She gave him one of her best domineeringly demonic glares as if to say come any closer and I'll bite you. In the nastiest way possible. Her glimmering blue eyes could only be see, the lower half of her face was concealed behind her shoulder. A twitching eyebrow could also be seen. She maneuvered her eyes from his face to his hand, narrowed her eyes even more and then looked back towards his face. Any method he'd try in order to be friendly would be thrown back at his face.
"Don't care who you are. And YES, I do mind. It's none of your goddamn business, alright? So drop it and stop asking me questions." She told him with an impatient sigh, and then sat up. She looked forward and tucked some hair behind her ears. He did look a little familiar, and she chewed her lip as it finally got to her. Did he was he was an Uzumaki? Or a Uchiha or something...? She couldn't remember. She looked back at him with an angry yet bored expression, but her eyes had 100% sincere pain concealed behind them. She just hoped to god he wouldn't pick up on it. Why was he even talking to her anyway? Any adult who was aware of her early budded reputation would know to stay away from her since she's nothing but a "nuisance". It served well since she had never seen him before, so he obviously had never heard of her or her wild antics. "Who CARES if it's not safe? No one cares about me anyway. Anyone who comes I'll bust a cap in their a** and you, Mr whoever you are is first in line. It looks pretty safe to me anyway so just be on your way and go back to your girlfriend, okay? I'm sure she's missing the company of a stud like you. Now please, leave." She replied to the annoying male with a spiteful sarcastic yet stoically calm tone, in a ploy to get him to go away without asking further question. She closed her eyes tightly and had a stern expression on her face, waiting desperately to hear footsteps moving away from her. This man seemed nice, but she couldn't chance answering his questions in case he was even more friendlier to her. She threw him a ball and she hoped he'd swing and just walk away. She couldn't take any more rejection and heart ache.

±: Rukia found herself smiling at his words. That was a complete lie though, she did need to worry about him because god knows what he would do next. He had the immaturity levels of a five year old, and he would succumb to doing the most idiotic, wildest things. But she supposed that was one of the reasons she scolded him so much, to try prevent him from doing things he will most likely regret later on. Couldn't be helped though, that was just Akio. Her eyebrow raised slightly when he had taken her hand off his forehead, and laced her fingers with his, but her cheeks reddened deeply when she realised he now had possession of both her hands. Her heart stopped, then began to palpitate. It felt incredibly awkward to her, but that wasn't how she felt deep down. Deep down, she liked it. Once again she felt safe, in a sick, twisted manner but she did. A twinge of annoyance bounced around her heart as she soon realised he wasn't serious. He never would be serious in that situation, and maybe that was because he wasn't interested. In all honesty she wasn't really interested either, but there was a part of him that found the womanizer very attractive. She wouldn't dare let that feeling rise to the surface, or some out of her mouth. She decided it would be best just to play into his flirting antics, because that was all she was ever going to get from him. She was glad she met him though, on that dark, rainy day, because otherwise who knew what road she would have went down by that stage, the darkness in her heart would have spilled out a long time ago. She knew he would always be Akio Uzumaki, the boy whom she first met who craved attention. She just hoped that he would keep his word.

She couldn't help but gaze at the young female in the grass, something about her was just too familiar. In a way, she looked a little like... Akio? No. Although it is possible that they could be related, but wouldn't have Akio told her if he had relatives? As far as she knew he only have one or two, but she couldn't be sure. The young girl didn't even seemed to have noticed them, so maybe they were long lost relatives? Or they weren't relatives at all and her mind was playing tricks on her. She turned back to Akio when he spoke, and nodded. Maybe she ran away from home? A stray? Or perhaps she fell asleep and her folks are worried sick about her? She watched him as he departed and approached the little girl. Did he notice their similarity? She folded her arms and bit her lip, focusing closely to hear what they were saying. It didn't sound all that positive. She walked over and sat on the nearest bench, but kept looking in their direction. Once she turned to face him, she seen it.
She looked exactly like Akio, and now her mind was raging with questions she hoped Akio would ask for the both of them.

Akio looked down at the young dark haired girl and considered her carefully. He raised an eyebrow slightly as she talked and made a note that her words carried even more venom to them then Rukia's could sometimes. But for some reason he just could not shake the idea that he knew this girl from somewhere. That somewhere way deep down within himself he could just...Sense a part of himself in this girl. She did look just like him, but then again he just had one of those faces that looked familiar no matter who was looking at him, which he was thankful for sometimes because it allowed him to blend in easier, it was his personality that grabbed peoples attention and make him a distinctly unique person. It took a heck of a lot to make him angry and he could tell the antics of a fellow prankster from a mile off. He still twitched ever so slightly though, he couldn't help but think she was being hostile for a reason. Maybe she was of his clan too? He shrugged internally and shelved his thoughts for now as he stared deep into her eyes. There really was something familiar to them, they were the same shade as his own...He looked back at Rukia and wondered to himself whether she had noticed it too. She probably had, she always had been the perceptive one. He hadn't even noticed the girls presence at all because of the flip flopping of his stomach that he was trying ever so hard to get over now. He didn't do vulnerable when it came to women and it quite honestly made his skin crawl.

The dark haired man sighed softly as she began to berate him with the fury of a thousand suns. He began to wonder why exactly she was being so God damned defensive. His own eyes practically burrowed into her own and he could see the very obvious pain behind them. He felt for her, he really did because in truth he had been there and on some level still was there. It had been so long now since his home had been destroyed but he was still old enough at the time to remember it. The smoke, the burning, the smell of charred corpses...It make him positively shiver at the thought of it. He shelved that idea too and focused on the present. As far as he knew he only had one relative who was still living and that was his cousin who he hadn't seen in forever. He smiled a tiny bit at the fond memories, and for the third time in such a short time pushed himself to move past it yet again. Had she forgotten his name already? Whatever. He shoved his hand back into his pocket and let it warm up once more. She may have had quite the loud mouth on her, but he had questions that he needed answering too. Like who she was, why she looked so familiar and such.

For the most part he let the angry comments slide, he saw right through them and he saw them for what they were, an attempt to push someone away who was showing concern for her. Rukia had done exactly the same thing to him when they had first met but he was not one to be put off by something as simple as that and he sat himself down, with a little bit of a thud and he usually did. He turned his gaze over to her and smiled softly while pulling his hand back out and tugging absent mindedly on a thin strand of his hair as he thought about what he would say to her. "First of all my Name is Akio Uzumaki. But I'll also answer to just Akio." He said that first part slightly louder then he had the last time, he wanted to make sure that she actually heard him this time. He hated it when people didn't listen to him or just plain ignored him for little other reason. "And she is a girl who happens to be my best friend. But she isn't my girlfriend." A part of him tugged from deep down inside him, but he ignored it once more. "And this park is not exactly the safest of places at night. But if you think you can handle it then be my guest. May I at the very least ask your name? I feel like I know you from somewhere..."

✦ As she closed her eyes trying to block out the annoying nagging at the back of her head, she quickly realised that the man who had approached her was still here. Eugh... What the hell does he want! Persistent he is one... She muttered relentlessly in her head, doubting her own annoying superior ability that was flawless in the art of getting people to leave her alone. Was he thick? Did he just need more yelling at? She didn't know. She just hated her personal space and time being invaded. Maybe if she didn't answer him he'd just go away. Well hey, it worked any other time. She had a special knack in the art of annoying people. It was her speciality, almost like her own special genjutsu. Which was strange considering she was terrible at genjutsu, she'd fall under them so easy and it was almost impossible to knock her out of one as she tends to get lost inside her own thoughts, so she'd easily get lost in a genjutsu. She was more of a ninjutsu type, and pretty much when anyone came at her with tai or kenjutsu she'd run away screaming like a little girl. Okay, she was a little girl but at a much higher pitch that it could deafen you with ease, a strange advantage she had against the enemy. All she had to do was open her mouth and the unbelievable pitch could ring in your ears for at least half an hour. She couldn't help it, it was in her blood. In fact she found it rather funny as well. Not only that, she could chirp and chirp in her enemies ear not stop and they'd contemplate running away from her she'd piss them off so bad. Or try to kill her. Whatever came first. At least it was reassuring to know if she was ever kidnapped they'd most likely give her back five minutes later. In a fact, she was glad of unique advantages in that area, where most people would stare her down with animosity. Oh well, it was a good thing to her and she didn't care about how the villagers or allying shinobis viewed her, it just felt natural to her to irritate them beyond recognition. It helped filled that empty void within her.

She glared at him and raised her eyebrow when he sat down beside her. He clearly wasn't getting the message she was trying to display. She sat up and hugged her knees, turning her body towards him slightly. Okay, he definitely said Uzumaki. She didn't quite catch his first name, she was lost in another one of her famous daydreams. A...? Akiko? Aika? Akio! That was it. She thought so anyway. Akio Uzumaki. Why did that sound familiar...? Oh! He's an Uzumaki... Like me! It took a while for the female that lacks common sense to finally pick up on that. She peeked open one eye in curiosity, more anxious about this male now. She'd give him a little of her time to find out exactly what he wanted. After all, they did look a little alike. He has the same eye and hair colour as me... Plus he's an Uzumaki. Could he possibly be...? No. No, it's just not possible! The small glimmer of hope in her heart that was there faded like a candle in the wind. Snuffed out like that. There was no way in hell they could be related! It just... Seemed to impossible in her scenario. However, she listened to him all the same, incase he had anything interesting to say, which she highly doubted. She didn't look at him, however, she kept her gaze towards the moon. A cloud was drifting slowly across it. She looked over at the girl he was with, to Akio, then back at the clouds again.
"Hm, I can see why your just best friends." She said to the man in a monotonous tone, followed by an evil chuckle. She of course, was just teasing him, but she felt like taunting him a little because frankly, the way he said it was just too innocent to pass up. She sighed audibly when he began to dribble on about the park not being safe, but then looked at him curiously. She can handle it, no doubt about it. She smirked. "I, am none other than Kiyomi Akia Uzumaki, the living legend, if you please." She grinned at him, proud to say she was an Uzumaki. Her eyes lit up, and her grin turned into a surprised pout. "Is that so? Perhaps you've seen me bomb diving into the deepest lake many times? Or maybe you've seen me cover the Mizukage's office in toilet paper and my many numerous pranks? Or perhaps you seen me get dragged off by jonins and academy instructors so many times?" Her eyes got wider and wider as she spoke, she could go on forever. It was something she liked talking about, and for some reason, she felt an odd connection with the man, like they really were related.

Akio listened to her once more, her voice this time however seemed to have much more of a calmer tone to it. She seemed to have actually listened to him, his words hand sunk in at least a little bit anyhow...It wasn't so much of a surprise to him. Akio had a way with words and people and he had yet to meet a single person that he could not win over with his charms and winning attitude, either that or his good looks. But whatever the reason he had always just been good with people. Had it not been for it winning him so many friends he wouldn't have seen it as such a good thing perhaps, even if only one of those friends was what he would consider a true friend. He smiled softly as his hunch was proven correct, so she was an Uzumaki. He didn't catch her first name but it wasn't so much important right at that moment in time, he drew he legs up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them in an attempt to keep the cold out. Rukia had always seemed to feel it worse then he did, so he didn't particularly want to leave her sat on a bench for a long time as he knew that if he did and she were to catch a cold then she would be blaming him for it and he would undoubtedly never hear the end of it. And even if he were used to it, it still was not something that he was eager to have happen to him again. He smiled softly at the mention of pranks, this was most certainly a topic that he could get into and while he did catch her name it had already slipped his mind. But from what he did hear it sounded strangely familiar...

His train of thought was cut short however when she began to detail the things that she had done, he chose however to ignore her little comment about seeing why they were just best friends and he glared at her weakly, some part of him deep down was tugging at him but he couldn't quite figure out why, so he just shelved that idea for a later time. He would figure it out eventually of course he just shrugged it off and figured that now really was not the best time or place for it. He turned his attention back to the young Uzumaki girl to his right. She was right, she was quite accomplished in the way of pranking. But he himself wasn't exactly new when it came to this area of expertise either and a mischievous grin spread across his lips. "Maybe that's just something that runs in the clan then? When I was younger I broke the Amekage's door right off it's hinges while winning a race against Rukia. I once leveled an entire section of forest while showing off and eventually had to replant the entire thing by hand. I also made 5 bucks once on a dare by jumping into one of the lakes over there wearing nothing but my underwear during the middle of a particularly cold winter." He pondered on what her name was again. Kiyomi? No...That couldn't be right. That was the name of his sister who was killed all those years ago with the rest of his family...He turned to her once more. "Wait...Your name is Kiyomi? Do you remember anything of your family? It's just...My family were all killed a long time ago. At least I thought they were. I had a sister with the same name as you. She also black hair and blue eyes..." He then looked at her and his eyes began to widen with realization. This couldn't be his sister, could it?

✦ She'd admit this dark haired male was becoming more interesting, and he was definitely speaking her language. Maybe it did run in the clan. After all, she'd hear stories about people in her clan from dozen and dozens of years ago who were mass pranksters. It made her a little reassured knowing that there was someone in Kiri in the same clan as her, and he seemed nice enough. She wouldn't let herself get too attached to the male, as she so easily does with people she can relate too. Just another one of her desperate antics and mannerisms. Also, by the sound of things he sounded like he was quite the attention seeker as well. She chewed her bottom lip. She was so good at analysing people like that. She could easily infer that in his voice the way he spoke there seemed to be the same feelings she felt her whole life burrowed deep in there. She decided not to pass remark on it, instead she looked at him, nodding at his pranks which were quite impressive. Hm... Maybe I'll consider this guy after all. She thought with a cheeky grin. Breaking a door down... Done. Numerous doors, actually. Jumping half naked into a pond in the dead of winter. Done, except she had her clothes on. Okay, she never leveled an entire forest, but that thought of him having to replant it made her chuckle. "Interesting... You seem like a formidable match for me.... Perhaps we should prank together sometime. Who's Rukia? Is that your pretty friend over there?" She said with a grin, then she inclined her head to see the dark haired female better. She's preeeettyyy... She caught herself staring. She shook her head and looked back towards the male just as he was about to say something.

It felt like a kick to the stomach. Was he actually implying she was his sister? No. No no no no no NO! It just wasn't possible in her eyes. She started to pant, heavily.
"W-what? N-No! I don't have a family! I NEVER had a family and I never will! Just because I... It doesn't mean... You don't know what your...!" She started to panic. She put her hands on her head. The park was spinning. A brief memory flashed into her mind. Fire. Screams. She was just a little baby when her parents were killed. The memories came flooding back. How could she could never remember them before? She looked at the boy once more, her eyes were beginning to water. She wrapped her arms about her body tightly, and spoke in such a low tone in was a hushed, shaky whisper. "All I remember... I-Is my family in the Uzushiogakure were killed and scattered... A young boy protected me when I- I was an infant... He had dark h-hair and he was about nine and had blue--" She then looked up with wide eyes in shock. She remembers this man. "Are you my...?" She asked him, completely dazed. She remembered everything. That boy was her brother. It hit her like a ton of bricks. She thought he was dead. Could he possibly be...? Could she ACTUALLY have some family left?

Akio laughed a little out loud for a moment or two there, she considered him to be a "Formidable match"? Just how good was she? He would take great pleasure in finding out at some point although he still had a fair amount of confidence that he was the better prankster, simply by virtue of the fact that there had yet to be a single thing that he had thought of that he wasn't able and willing to do. Although being of the same clan among other things meant that there was a high chance that she would be exactly the same way, he just had the extra added bonus of booze to loosen him up if he absolutely needed it. But he wouldn't, he never did and he shuddered to think of the day that he went "soft". He shrugged slightly and looked to one side. " Sure...I'd like to see what you can do. We could do something to the Mizukage's office perhaps? Or really anything. We'll think of something anyhow." He followed the younger girls gaze over to Rukia and nodded, blushing ever so slightly. "Yeah, that's Rukia. I've known her even since I was roughly your age. She's my best friend and we've been through a whole lot together." He was grinning at this point, it was true they had been and he was happy to have a friend like her. But a part of him was still yearning deep down to figure out exactly why she had been acting so odd lately. It was something that he would most certainly get to the bottom of, he always did. She was incapable of hiding anything from him because he would just annoy her until she eventually told him. But it was the waiting that bothered him so badly.

Akio's attention and train of thought were once more wrenched away from their original places and landed firmly back on Kiyomi who by now was very obviously freaking out. He raised a hand to speak to her and try to calm her down but he decided to let her talk, perhaps something that she said would help give him some insight as to what was wrong with her? He could see that very familiar look of recognition on her face, her comments about Uzushiogakure among other things brought the memories flooding back to him too and suddenly he could smell and almost taste the smoke and the burning once more. He had exactly the same memories, that young boy...Was him. His upper left forearm began to burn suddenly, he moved his right hand and place it on top of the area and winced slightly as the burning began to cool ever so slightly. More memories flooded in now, coming from every direction and his mind was awash with so much confusion. "I-I....I don't know how. But I have the same memory. That was the last time that I saw my sister. Hold on." He removed the glove from his left hand and began to roll his sleeve up to show her the large scar that ran diagonally along his arm. "I got this scar that day. I...I think I might be. Kiyomi, I think I am your brother." He couldn't even bring himself to smile from the shock, but nether the less he placed a hand on her shoulder, worrying that if he hugged her she might just get even more freaked out then she already was. So he just let her make the next move.

✦ She looked towards him, watery eyed with a grin upon her face. Now he was her style. Offering to do something to the Mizukage's office. It was an option, but she was sure she could think of something bigger and better to pull off with this new found prankster. It made a slight twinge pull at her heart, like it was a new found hope. She liked the feeling. Although a negative twinge was also pulling at her heart seams, trying to burst all her hope. She couldn't give in to pessimistic thoughts, not after everything she had been through. She was determined to stay strong and become the best she can be, and with negative thoughts constantly causing a chemical reaction with her forced positive thoughts it wasn't helping in the slightest. She couldn't give in, not now, not ever. That twinge was telling her that this man was going to leave her just like everybody else, because she knew, deep down, he was related to her in some form. Maybe after the suspenseful tension in the air had drifted she would find out. She shook her head, and shelved those thoughts for now, and focused on something more important. Ideas and evil schemes were already buzzing through her head, not giving a moment to cease and calm down. It got her that excited. Also, she had to show him that she couldn't be trusted completely. She tried to think of a special prank she could pull on him, mostly for disrupting her serenity. And the best part is he won't even see it coming! She cackled deviously internally despite the seriousness of the situation they were in. She cleared her throat, feeling stupidly immature. She needed to grow up. She decided to ponder it a later date (she didn't need to grow up NOW...), she usually she wouldn't care but this seemed like too an important situation. She needed to know if they were related. She just had to!

Wow... For a moment she felt jealous. She bit her lip in annoyance. He had a best friend. Something she was sure she could never gain. He's known her such a long time as well. He must be at least... Thirty odd? She didn't know. Either way it was an awful long time to know somebody, she wondered if she would ever develop a bond so powerful with someone in her lifetime. She arched her brow when she noticed he was grinning. Tch... Show off. He sounded so smug about it. Like he was gloating. I'll get him extra for that... Temme. She muttered lividly to herself. Even though she was exceptionally skilled in reading people, there was still that vague possibility she picked up the signs wrong. All though she was way too stubborn to listen to herself. Also, she was never wrong. If she was, there would be hell to pay. She couldn't help but feel vulnerable, though. Would she really go through her life totally and utterly alone? She wanted to have great adventures with people, friends. She wanted to travel and see the world, she wanted to feel part of something huge. She hated feeling like she had no place in this world, like her existence isn't worth anything. She had to fight just to get acknowledged. She was growing sick of it at an alarming rate.

Despite all these thoughts that were now surging through her brain, a painful headache erupted from her seams. She didn't pay any notice as her head throbbed. She was used to it. She wiped her tear stained eyes. Although she didn't actually spill any, there were there. Laying dormant in her water line, waiting to be spilled. She wouldn't let them. She rubbed vigorously at her eyes, as if trying to wipe them away permanently. No more tears, she vowed she would make herself stronger. Crying won't help her in the slightest way. She was sick and tired of it. While staring blindly into oblivion, brief flashes of repressed memories of her childhood were surfacing. She could see it much more vividly than she ever could. Did this man help her see better? Did his blatant speaking of it help them awaken? No matter how much she thought about it, she could never remember. Maybe she needed to hear it out loud for once. She turned her gaze to him and watched as he placed his right hand onto his left shoulder. He was clearly in pain, she noticed him wince. She watched his arm curiously, then her eyes snapped back up to his when he began to speak. He has the same memory. No. That's not possible. It can't be true... Her eyes started to well up again, and she bit her lip harshly in order to stop tears from spilling out onto her cheeks. Her stifled streaming stopped as she observed him closely, eyes wide as she showed her his scar. Her eyes watered again, except this time she let them dribble innocently. She burrowed her head in her hands to prevent him from seeing her like this. It was undoubtable. He was her brother. As soon as he placed a hand on her shoulder, she couldn't help it. She practically exploded and started to cry uncontrollably, tears gushing down her cheeks. She lunged herself at him, encasing him into a forceful hug. She wasn't doing it because she was over joyed about him being her brother, it was more or less a force of habit when she cried. Anything around her was not safe and open for attack. She was pretty sure she had managed to tackle him to the ground, but she couldn't be sure as her eyes were tightly closed. Her crying began to cease and she slowly unwrapped herself from him, trying her eyes and sniffing.
"I'm sorry about that... Force of habit." She said in a small, raspy voice compared to her unusually loud one. She didn't look at him as she dried her eyes, feeling like a idiot for exploding in front of a total stranger. Even if he was her brother, she didn't know him at all "I-it's just I've been alone so long... It's pretty shocking. Sorry for attacking you." She said cutely, chucking a bit. She wiped her eyes completely and looked at him with her trademark smile, an ear-to-ear grin along with closed, arched eyes. She giggled slightly ever so slightly, and rubbed the back of her head. More or less, part of the crying scene was a ploy to deceive him into thinking she was a broken, defenseless little girl. Okay, about 80% of it was genuine tears but now she could catch him off guard whenever, and wherever.
