It all depends on you and how you pick up things. You may find it easier, harder, or just the same difficulty. I suggest that you try a class to see if you like it first. I do rhythm tap and I really enjoy it. I'm sure you will, too. Also, you said it was at a tap studio. Is it a studio where tap is the only style or is tap just one of the styles?

it may be awkward at first. usually broadway tap if very big, open and the patterns are made to fit to your show peice. more of a rhythmic tap, you make the music, a lot of down beats and accents. There may be more complex steps in the lesson plans as wells and could be a lot faster. but it all depends on this teacher. Go into this class with a clear head. its your first day back. Dont think about all the musicals you've done, just focus on the task at hand. Once you get an idea you can relate it back to what you already know and it should make it a lot easier to comprehend.
