The Giant Japanese Link List

Kana :
Learning hiragana and katakana is the quickest and easiest way to improve your Japanese reading skills, and should be one of the first things beginners do in the language.

The Hiragana and Katakana Game
A multiple choice quiz game that is great for learning the kana.

Ultimate Kana Challenge
The scoreboard is down, but this is a game where you click on the floating kana in 五十音(ごじゅうおん) order (which is what they call the order on kana charts, and it's used like Alphabetical order is in English). Great for memorizing 五十音 order.

Real Kana
A flashcard site for kana.

Kanachart.com
A site that helps people memorize the kana. Has picture mnemonics, and sound files for pronunciation.

Under construction...

Quote:
+ Prepare for Japanese Language Proficiency Tests, Kanji Kentei and more
+ Official textbook and community-generated materials
+ Quizzes auto-adjust to challenge you at your level
+ Study 100s of expressions in our interactive grammar library
+ Extensive stats to gauge your progress toward mastery

(only downside of this is that you have to pay in order to use some of their features, like grammar quizzes, sentence-based quizzes, advanced kanji quizzes, etc)

NihongoUp
Still a relatively new site. You have to pay to use most of their features, though, but signup and some of the features are free.

Kanji Koohii
A website that correlates with James Heisig's Remember the Kanji series.

I've really been into these sites recently...

http://ww8.tiki.ne.jp/~tmath/home/index.htm
+ really nice and simple way of explaining/learning, and goes up through high level Japanese.

http://lang-8.com/
+ AMAZING site. Embarrassing at first, but you can see a difference in your Japanese after 2 weeks!
(japan-guide.com is good too... but I prefer lang-8.com better. You want friends? Try guide.)

http://ameba.jp/ (blogging in Japanese.) ♥
+ really really good to use for more advanced learners. (Especially with lang-8 combination.)
***(For lower level, I really recommend that you get a blogspot(.com), and start blogging in Japanese with help of lang-8.com. Ameba is so advanced because of the all-Japanese control panel, and the other bloggers. Reading Ameba blogs early on is a good idea though! ♥)

I'll try to remember more..! ><;
