Hey...I know a lot of people have issues with wearing medical alert bracelets and necklaces. My issue was always losing it or snagging it on something. Me, along with a good group of friends from diabetes camp, have been getting diabetes alert tattoos. I love it sooooo much!

This is the one I have on my left wrist. Others I know have them in the same place, on the top side of their wrist, some are bigger but most are about the size of mine. A few girls added flowers to make it prettier, I have a band around my wrist. I think its a great way to keep people informed about my disease while still doing something I like!

i thought about getting one but my doctor strongly reccomends me not getting any tattoos or piercings idk why he doesnt really give me a good reason why. Also with my luck id get a medical alert for diabetes and they will come out with a cure for it haha

haha there isnt a hell of alot i wouldnt do to get a cure id cover my whole body with ink if it meant a cure for everyone out there

haha i guess im a sweetie idk. Its just somthing im kinda glad i have and like none of my younger sisters have to deal with or my girlfriend has to deal with it.

Some doctors are like that, but I think that is why I have piercings and my tattoos. I wanted to prove that I could take care of them and they would be just fine like a non diabetics. As of now I have 8 piercings and three tattoos and have had no complications!

Hey this is an awesome idea. I really like it, and it makes my job easier. They look pretty cool too.

Oh and I know doctors don't like the idea of tattoos and piercings, but the main reason is due diabetics have an increased risk of infection with those things. But if you're careful, and your diabetic control is quite good there is little problem in my eyes.

I've thought about getting one and I do think they're an interesting idea.
I've had a lot of poor luck with med alert bracelets(on two, the charm has fallen off and one just had a really poor clasp). But I finally bought one that works well, when I can remember to wear it that is.
The tattoo would alleviate that problem, but it's a lifelong commitment/brand, so the jury's still out on that one.
