So, some people in the comic drawing scene do things called fight clubs. What these are, are basically a two person collaborative of one of the artist's characters vs one of the other artist's characters. They take turns every 3-4 days drawing as many pages as they feel like, to further the battle. It's actually quite fun.
My game though is similar as to it being a collaborative comic, but rather then fighting, you take turns to further the story. The last one of these I made lasted 6 months and had 56 pages, and a fairly funny storyline. My question is, can I do something like this here? The guild's forum isn't nearly as active as the comic artist forum, but that's also a plus, because most of the people here actually stay here.
My Comi-Club (as I call it) would ask for 4-5 people. I allowed more then that before, but by time a full cycle goes through, it's been several months, in some instances, so the 4-5 people works. I would also figure doing around 4-5 days per person to get their pages up. Also, each person gets to make one main character (side characters are fine, but can't be in more then a few pages in a row.) The last goal is to try and keep a similar style between all artists. If you were trying to get into this professionally, then you would probably have to match up to someone else's style anyway, so it's good practice.
The main reason I like doing this as it makes me feel more obligated to actually draw, as well, it let's me get practice at drawing new/different poses, as well as multiple character pics.
Anyway, would anyone be opposed to me starting a topic like this here? (and if you like the idea, any suggestions on basic {Extremely basic, as it's a sandbox experience} ideas on story?)
Well, lunch break is over for me now, so I have to go. ^__^ Can't wait for replies.
