Today I did more shopping for this weekend's Father's Day barbecue, I'm making three new things I've never made before, so let's hope this turns out okay! I'm making Hawaiian Baked beans, Honey Barbecued Ribs, and Mango Salsa for the first time. And I'm also trying a new teriyaki sauce recipe for the chicken pieces I'm grilling. Pretty simple, throw together some soy sauce, sugar, cider vinegar, a little ginger and some cornstarch as the thickening agent; let it boil on the stove top until it's a nice thick syrup.
But I may go back to Party City tomorrow to pick up a few more decorations; I'm tired of boring "throw some food on the grill and invite people to come eat" cookouts. I want there to be some, what's the word? ...Zest! Pizazz! Scenery! A change of pace! Something different from the Mundane! I'm embracing my inner Rarity this time around.
Did I just incorporate My Little Pony into my social life? You bet your a** I did.

For some bizarre reason I have no idea why, but Father's day here in Australia isn't until September.
Hope you all have a nice day!

Absolutely nothing. Don't look at me like that... stare My father has serious issues, most of which I will never forgive him for... At most, I might call him. (He still lives in Virginia while I live in Florida) Seeing him a week ago and putting up with his new "girlfriend" and her demon spawn children is a big enough gift. I had to fight demons and dragons to hold my tongue back and not give my true opinion of her to him.

Father? What's one of those? Oh, right. Silly me; I remember now. My father deserted Mother and I countless years ago (To keep the peace), and has subsequently spent most of the years between then and now trying to find a suitable partner to marry (He married a few Septembers ago, forgotten which one). Too busy flirting to pay me any mind~ And now he's so damn happy to have found someone, he doesn't need to keep in touch like before, but even then it was once per annum (He sends emails seemingly on a fortnightly basis).
Some exaggerations in there. Some truths, too. And some lies, as opposed to 'stretched truths'. I'll send the old man an email. If I send a text, he'll probably text back in text talk. And that puts me to shame. Well, he's in Scotland. I'm disinclined to hop on a train just to say 'Hi'.

Pfft. I hate Father's day. I have to celebrate the fact I was born by that utter git. I will never be proud of being related to a cheating, lying, abusing whore who has no regard for women at all. I have to pretend I tolerate him. I'm having to make a cake for him and giving him a book of jokes by his favourite commedian. No doubt he's going to be gone for the day. He's going to make some excuse but I know he's with that ******** whore of a girlfriend again, who is also married. Yes. My dad is still married to my mom. sweatdrop I'm sorry for that. Bitterness fills me when Father's Day comes. But I hope everyone else has a better Father's day. On a lighter note: I may phone up my Grandad. Wish him a happy father's day and a happy birthday. Me and my mom visited him a week ago to give him his presents. He lives pretty far away; so we rarely visit him.

Well s**t, I wasn't expecting this kinda reception. But it's okay, I know and understand not everyone out there has a dad in the running for Father of the Year award. I know for damn sure my dad's not one of them either, but I still appreciate him putting up with my s**t when others won't.
So, since the discussion of dads seems to be sore subject among most of the guild, why don't we switch the topic from Father's Day to the topic of parties? Everyone loves parties, right?! sweatdrop

My Grampa's one of those old people who wakes up at 5 am everyday for funsies and goes out to the same diner every morning. Always.
SO anyways, we're going to a Jewish delicatessen place at 9 am (which is waaay early for me, since its summer). Nyehhh. Niiiiiiine. Then we'll probably chill at home and grill in the evening. Maybe a party at my aunt's.
The thing is, this is all my stepdad's family, though. So, it's... meh.

Wow, you guys have more daddy issues than a sorority house. Man, the conclusions to be drawn! So much potential to explain.

Okay! Sent an email to the old deserting coot. I saw Under the Darkness' post, and I got oh so sentimental so I sent my grandfather an email too. Well, he'll get it from my grandmother. She's the technophile, not him.
In truth, I like them both. But I prefer my grandfather. I know it's cliché to say, but he's such a fantastic grandfather. I don't mind if I disappoint every living person and animal on Earth; Just as long as I don't disappoint him. Bugger. I hate being so sentimental. ANYWAY. Emails sent. So I expect oodles of birthday presents from my relatives.
