Many years ago, a group of Government Scientists started a lab to experiment. It wasn't for cures or a food that never spoiled. It was for their sinister greed. Their lust for immortalily.
One of the head scientists even went so far as to test on his only child, a daughter without her mother.
Since then, 2000 years have passed, as have most of the other scientists that never reached their goal.
But that hasn't stopped their replacements from trying, not in the least.
This is the story of the experiments that survived, and that are still being created.

13 leaned back against the cold steel wall of her cell, waiting for the guards to come get her for her next set of tests. They never seemed to be able to give her a break, but she was more than use to it by now.

I sit on my bed. After what I did 80 years ago, no one has seen me. The only thing that people know of me now was the chaos in lab G13.
The opening on the bottom of the door slid open and a dish slides in. It closes back and rats scurry cross the ground to the plate and start eating away. The rats don't leave any scraps and rush back to the hole. I haven't had any food since I was in the lab. For some reason or another I still feel healthy and able to do anything.
The door to the room slowly opens and a man dressed in all white walks in. He looks like he is about 36. He looks at the boy and says, "you there. Do you know how long you have been in here?"
I look puzzled and say, "80 years today. Why are you in my room?"
Ignoring me, he looks at the plate full of rat droppings, "It seams you haven't bean eating very healthy. Do you want something to eat?"
I stand up. "I don't need food. I want to die."
The man starts to walk out the door. "Come with me. I'm putting you with the rest of the exper... I mean, people." He motions to the two guards and they walk in.
They look at me and point out, "This guy is nothing but a weak boy."
I start for the door and the guards start behind me.

Mika leaned heavily on the guard as they walked down the hall, she was faking the exhaustion but he didn't know that. When they reached her 'room' the male led her in and she slumped against the wall, waiting until he disappeared to see her prize. It was a key as she had thought but not the one she needed. This one appeared to be for a chest of some sort not for a door as she had hoped. Sighing, she turned around and placed it behind a loose stone in the wall then waited for when they would return to get her for more tests.

I follow the hallway for several minutes, being eyed by the two guards. I can feel they are scared of me, but I guess they want to seem tough. We finally get to two large doors with small circular windows on them. As we pass through them I can tell that this is the lunch room. I can see many scientist spread about and a couple of... humanoids? The guards get me to sit down at an empty table and set a plate of food infront of me.
"Eat" the man in white demanded, as he stands over me.
I look at the food. "I told you, I don't need to eat." I tell them as I pick up the fork and poke at the food.
The man sits down on the opposite side of the table and sighs. "I don't care if you don't need to eat. I want you to eat. I have been watching you on the cameras. I know you don't need it."
"Fine, whatever." I respond, not caring for an answer as to why. I pick out an odd looking fruit and take a small bite. As soon as it reaches my tongue I spit it back onto the plate. Irritated I say, "What is this? This isn't food! It tastes like cardboard!"
"As I thought. Please, eat that," he points to a small hunk of steak. "You may enjoy that more."
Angered I say, "What? After that bad taste, anything could taste better." I take the steak with my hands and bite into it. The steak definitely tasted better, but it still didn't please me. As I swallow for the first time in 80 years, I feel every bone in my body tingle. Then stop in a mere second. "I still don't like this food."
The man in the suit takes out a pad of paper and writes something down. Then he asks, "How do you feel?" Then stops writing and looks at me.
The man first looked at me, then he looked at my head. "I feel full, and I don't want another bite, and bored and want to go back to my cell, or is it my 'room'?" I ask sarcasticly.
He looks back down at me. "You wont be going back there, instead you will be put with the rest of them. One more question. I thought you had horns?"
"I don't have any horns, as you can very well see, so I'm not going to answer that. Now take me to my cell!" I blurted.
"Fine, fine. Take him to where the rest of the prototypes are. You don't have to restrain him, he can't do much now." He ordered, and the two guards still behind me lift me onto my feet. I start following one as the other followed the two of us.

Mikani looked up when she heard footsteps approaching. Was it time for more tests already? No, as they got closer she saw that there was another experiment with them. He looked no older than she did but that meant nothing, for all she knew he could have been three thousand. The guards came ever closer and she realized with a growing sense of unease that they were approaching her cage.

Zero bolted down the streets not daring to look back and careful not to drop any of his precious belongings. He ran ignoring the clanking of test tubes and beakers as he clung to them desperately. His pace never slowed until he reached the lab and looked back to make sure his pursuits were not following him before he took cover into the lab and finally breathed a sigh of relief

Zero leaned against the wall and looked around the big empty room still carrying his testubes and beakers.
"I need another experiment!" He shouted to the darkness. he patiently waited for a guard to bring him another victim.

Mika looked up as another guard approached her and growled. She'd heard someone yell about needing another experiment. Mikani let the male take her to the scientist, maybe this time she could get something to help her escape. The guard thrust her in front of Zero and she glared at him as he left before turning to see who it was this time that called for one of them.

Zero smiled happily and skipped off to the lab and testing room. He placed his many onjects on the table and reached for his gloves. He snapped them on and turned back to see Mikani still on the floor.
"Experiment number...73 was it?" Zero couted on his fingers then nodded. "yes that be it. Experiment number 73! Come, i have much planned for today." He flashed her a giddy smile and went over to grab his syringe.

Mikani shook her head at his attitude. How could he be so happy about all of this? To her, this place was like a prison. She nodded when he asked about her number, though it appeared he didn't really care whether she answered or not. Sighing, Mika stood and dusted herself off then walked over to the scientist. His lack of security with her provided an excellent opportunity for her to make a run for it. She'd tried that in the past though and was caught before getting anywhere near the exit, of course she knew the lay a lot better now. Mikani leaned against the table as she waited, curious as to what it would be this time.

Zero beamed at Mika and simply told her to lay down on the glum and scary looking bed.
He leaned closer to her so his face was very close to here and he whispered.
" I have been up all night working on this one. I think I've finally done it. Although.... This one will be a little more painful but it shan't last long at all"
He began to set up the many chords that needed to be set up placing some on her temples, her wrists, and ankles. He poked and prodded at her until she was covered in different medical and experimental chords all the while humming to himself.
" soon you will taste the sweet taste of pure Immortality and power If all else fails you will probably taste blood. But that's normal. Now if u take this pill here then I'll just give you the sedative and results should be high." he spoke calmly handing her a pill and reaching for the needle

Mikani heaved herself onto the bed, it was cold and hard like all the others she'd been on. Here we go again. She thought with a sigh. Mika really didn't care what the results of this experiment should be, but it was hard not to hear his annoyingly chipper tone. Immortality? She could check him for a key, if he came close enough, not with all these things hooked up to her though. He would notice her movements near immediately. Or she could try the guard again. Mikani plucked the pill from his hand when it was offered and tossed it in her mouth then swallowed. She lay there once more and waited for what would happen next.

Zero gave her a satisfying look as she swallowed the pill and nodded before inserting the long needle into her skin. He winced as the needle sank into her skin and he forcefully pushed down injecting the fluid into her.
" I'm sorry" he says in a barely audible whisper and immediately stepped back behind his safe room awaiting results. The only thing that ever bothered him when working on experiments was needles. He hated giving needles. But this time it was his only option.
