"Wisdom..." Lin says looking at you and the other applicants each in turn, "for the host/hostess of a restaurant wisdom has many meanings. A host/hostess must be able to read not only their customers but the chefs as well and know what foods have been put on special so that they don't go bad. These foods are not bad now but if they aren't sold in a day or so they would become unfit for serving."
"In this test I will be checking your wisdom in the shop. I want to discern if you can remember correctly which items have been put on special for a given day. I am sure you will all do well."

Day One ~
Meili frowned as Lin Shui asked her about the special for the day. She remembered hearing the cooks talking about it earlier that morning but it was late afternoon now and she just couldn't bring it to mind. With a sheepish smile she ventured a guess "Nai Huang Bao?"

Seeing the frown on Meili's face Lin wondered if this task would end up being difficult for her. She was pleasantly surprised as Meili got it on the first try, "Congratulations Meili! You got it on your first try. I commend you for paying attention this morning."

A smile crossed her face as Lin Shui approached and questioned about the daily special, yesterday she had felt unsure about her answer but she had remembered correctly on the first try, today she was hoping to do just as well. "Isn' t it the Lo Mai Gai today?" she spoke her answer though it was phrased as a question.

Not wanting to break Meili's confidence in herself, Lin said as gently as she could, "I am sorry that is incorrect. Please try again."

Meili nodded as she was told that her guess was incorrect. It was okay, she had been pretty scatterbrained this morning, it was no wonder she couldn't remember, she ventured another guess "The Lian Rong Bao?" that didn't feel right to her but maybe, just maybe it was correct?

Rian-chan Meili nodded as she was told that her guess was incorrect. It was okay, she had been pretty scatterbrained this morning, it was no wonder she couldn't remember, she ventured another guess "The Lian Rong Bao?" that didn't feel right to her but maybe, just maybe it was correct?

Meili frowned for a moment before thinking very hard back to that morning and she could've sworn she heard someone mention a particular dish... after a moment she remembered what she had heard mentioned and she spoke up "I heard one of the chefs talking about Cheun Gyun this morning."

Rian-chan Meili frowned for a moment before thinking very hard back to that morning and she could've sworn she heard someone mention a particular dish... after a moment she remembered what she had heard mentioned and she spoke up "I heard one of the chefs talking about Cheun Gyun this morning."

If there was one word to describe Meili it would be determined and despite the fact that she was getting it wrong one time after another she continued to try to remember what had been said that morning. "Maybe it was the Guo Tie? I thought I heard them mention that too."

A frown crossed Meili's face and she thought even harder, perhaps the tea was on special today? The tea was very good after all and it wouldn't hurt to have it be the special once in awhile... "Lotus Tea?" at this point she had a pink blush staining her cheeks as she was quite embarrassed to be caught having not paid attention that morning.
