"When working in the restaurant we come across customers who do occasionally complain about the food." Lin Shui looks at each of you as she is saying this, "In any restaurant the chefs tend to take offense quickly and easily if they are told that the dish wasn't done 'perfectly' and they can often attempt to charge out into the restaurant to 'deal' with the customer. Things are no different here at the Jade Lotus. Our job is to deal with the chefs on behalf of the customer. Explaining to them, in the best terms possible, what the complaint was while not upsetting them so much that they storm into the dining area."
To test your command of the restaurant, each day Lin Shui will present you with a complaint registered by one of the customers about the food. You must then speak with the chefs who tend to be a tempermental group with large egos. Either way, most of this test lies in your writing.
To determine how successful you are at handling the problem, roll one 10-sided dice, and compare that number to your charisma points. If the number is higher than your charisma, you have failed to contain the problem, and Lin Shui will have to step in. If the number is within 2 points under your charisma, then you have barely managed to succeed against the problem. If the number is within 4 points under your charisma, then you have succeeded well. You are no prodigy, but you have certainly handled the kitchen and inspired further confidence in you from the other chefs. And finally, if the number is 5 or more points under your charisma, you have masterfully handled the situation and inspired great confidence in you from Lin Shui.
Once you know your result of the day, you must write about how you handled it - your thoughts and feelings, the situation and its resolution or failure. This event will be judged by both shopowners.

Today's customer has complained that their food has a very oily feel. It feels almost slimy in truth. Your task, after you have calmed the customer, is to go into the back and speak with the chefs. Hopefully you will be successful in calming the chef so they do not storm out into the dining area.

Today's customer has complained that their food smells as though it had been cooked in mud. After again calming the customer you go into the back to speak with the chef responsible for this dish.

First, yesterday's RP bit.
"Yes sir, I'll take it to the back and bring you another dish."
Oily? How was she supposed to tell that to Fei Yi? He seemed like a very reasonable person, but Lin Shui had hinted that chefs get very upset when their food was insulted. She had to think of something, and quick. She fixed a smile to her face, hoping her experience in dealing with people as a monk could float her through this.
"Excuse me, Fei Yi sir, the customer that ordered this professed that he didn't have much of a preference for the amount of oil used on this dish."
She stared in shock at the rage shown before her. As a monk, her temper never got out of control, and it still surprised her at how angry some long got at mundane things. She bowed and step aside as Lin Shui was forced to step in.

(Not again. D< Why can't you give me those numbers on the str/agl/int tests.)
"Yes ma'am, I'm very sorry, I'll bring you a new dish right away."
Like mud? She didn't smell that at all, and the chef is going to kill someone when he hears this. She lingered just outside the door to the kitchen for a brief second, scrambling for ideas.
"E-excuse me," she tried not to stutter but she was incredibly nervous, "we may have some ingredients that have gone bad, the customer who ordered this says she can smell something odd about it."
She inwardly cringed as the outrage poured over her once more. She bowed and stayed bowed as she backed off for Lin Shui to take over.

Today you served a customer a dish that had not been fully cooked, chef was in a hurry it seems, and it was a bit on the cold side though not because you were slow in delivering it to the table. Your task is to calm the customer and then speak with the chef without causing them to rampage into the dining area.

The chef can kiss my ******** a**, it was his own fault. D< No chef should get mad at a customer for something the chef screwed up.

I figure since it barely worked, I'd piss the chef off, but make her realize that I am right. But the chef would still be pissed off enough to almost want to storm off.
"Yes sir, yes sir. Absolutely, sir."
Undercooked? That's how you make customers sick. This irritated Landuo to no end, especially since it was her job to help people, and she had taken a passive part in this travesty by delivering it to the customer.
She went straight to the cook and shoved the dish under her nose. "You didn't fully cook this." The cook's eyes hardened, but she continued. "It was cold and undercooked. You could have made the customer sick!" The chef was getting even angrier, how dare Landuo accuse her of that, the customer just- "No! You have no right to blame the customer for your mistake! A mistake that could have hurt someone!" The chef shut her mouth and glared for a few moments before finally snatching the offending plate from Landuo and angrily dumping it in the trash.
Landuo took the remade plate back to customer, too upset about the mistake to realize that she had prevented the chef from storming into the dining room, and for the first time as well.

Lin watched as Landuo confronted the chef. Shaking her head she wondered if maybe Lan had a deathwish. Though she was amazed at his temerity had succeeded this time, she would need to remember to talk to Lan about diplomacy and how beneficial it can be in the long run...

Day 4:Today the customer complained, rather loudly, that the food was overcooked. Upon looking at it there doesn't look to be any burning or anything but you still must apease the customer and keep the chef from making a scene.

Day 5: Today a customer has complained that there is a bug in there food. Upon inspection of the food you do not find anything, however being a good host/hostess you take the complaint to the chef and ask for another plate. Hopefully you do this without causing the chef to fly into an outrage and stalk out into the dining area.

Day 6:Today your customer has complained that the food you brought them is not what they ordered. The restaurant isn't overly busy so you didn't pick up someone else's order. After you calm the customer, go talk with the chef to see where what they ordered is.
