Lin looks around at the applicants, as though wondering who will have what it takes to be her apprentice. "Strength is not something a person would think you need as a host/hostess. But strength is greatly needed to stay on your feet for 16 hours in a day." Again she looks at you, sizing you up as it were, and then does the same to each of the others. "Some days may be shorter but now and again they will be longer. You need not only strength of body, but mind as well to be on your feet and continue your tasks well. So I ask each of you to pull on your inner strength thru these tests. Should you pass you will find that this was maybe the 'easy' part of everything." With that said, Lin gives everyone a smile and begins her day.
For each day, you will roll a d8 and add your strength to it. This total will show the number of hours you've worked in the day without giving up from weakness or exhaustion. The maximum number of hours an extremely skilled and strong chef can work regularly is 16, so if you go past that number, you will be considered to be working overtime.
You will recieve points based on how many hours you work each day, and can see what points you may get from the list below. Additionally, for every day that you roll the dice, you may write a small scene describing how your Long feels at the end of the day. This scene will be worth 2 points for each day, and at the end of the event, this thread might be marked as suitable as an in-depth RP, based on a consensus between the shopowners. At the end of the event, the person with the highest number of points in this test will be declared the winner.

Day 1:

Nine hours. Tianping had never worked that long in his entire life. He wasn't even that strong to begin with, having always been more of the wit and intelligent kind of long. He was exhausted, his feet ached and so did his mind. He tried so hard to keep himself in high spirits, reassuring himself mentally that it would be over before he knew it, and that all this work would be great for him. But come the end of the sixth hour, Tianping just couldn't take it anymore. The last couple of hours felt like eons to him and he was finally glad it was over. Time for a good long rest and relaxation. He didn't even want to think of how many more hours he'd have to work tomorrow! He could only hope that after a few days, his body would finally feel the swing of things and that nine hours of work wouldn't be so bad after all.

Still sore from yesterday, Tianping managed to crank his way through another nine hour day. At least by now he was slowly getting the hang of things....even if he hurt in places unimaginable. At least, mentally, he felt good about himself for all the work he accomplished today. With a nice long rest and a long warm soak, he was sure he'd feel right as rain to be able to work another good sum of hours tomorrow. What he had hoped yesterday was slowly beginning to become true. His body was getting used to this. Heck, even he was getting used to this. Perhaps working wasn't so bad after all.

And yet another nine hour day. Tianping had seemed to had found his groove. Nine hours was what he started working and what he'd hope to continue working. He had his daily schedule all planed, down to the very minute of how he would do things. Even though he was still quite tired at the end of the day, it was a good tired. A satisfactory tired. And boy did he sleep great that night!

Tianping had aimed for another nine hour shift today, but somehow he ended up working an extra hour today. He really hadn't even realized its until he looked at a clock. No wonder he felt more tired than his usual nine hour day. But it really wasn't that bad either. At least he felt like he got more done today, whether he really did or not.

If ten hours yesterday wasn't enough, 12 surly was. Tianping was EXHAUSTED. Why he worked 12 hours today was beyond him but he was quite beat. His work was done, but at the end of those last four hours he was beginning to feel tired on his feet. At least he felt proud of himself for being able to push himself so hard today.
