"When working in the restaurant we come across customers who do occasionally complain about the food." Lin Shui looks at each of you as she is saying this, "In any restaurant the chefs tend to take offense quickly and easily if they are told that the dish wasn't done 'perfectly' and they can often attempt to charge out into the restaurant to 'deal' with the customer. Things are no different here at the Jade Lotus. Our job is to deal with the chefs on behalf of the customer. Explaining to them, in the best terms possible, what the complaint was while not upsetting them so much that they storm into the dining area."
To test your command of the restaurant, each day Lin Shui will present you with a complaint registered by one of the customers about the food. You must then speak with the chefs who tend to be a tempermental group with large egos. Either way, most of this test lies in your writing.
To determine how successful you are at handling the problem, roll one 10-sided dice, and compare that number to your charisma points. If the number is higher than your charisma, you have failed to contain the problem, and Lin Shui will have to step in. If the number is within 2 points under your charisma, then you have barely managed to succeed against the problem. If the number is within 4 points under your charisma, then you have succeeded well. You are no prodigy, but you have certainly handled the kitchen and inspired further confidence in you from the other chefs. And finally, if the number is 5 or more points under your charisma, you have masterfully handled the situation and inspired great confidence in you from Lin Shui.
Once you know your result of the day, you must write about how you handled it - your thoughts and feelings, the situation and its resolution or failure. This event will be judged by both shopowners.

Today's customer has complained that their food has a very oily feel. It feels almost slimy in truth. Your task, after you have calmed the customer, is to go into the back and speak with the chefs. Hopefully you will be successful in calming the chef so they do not storm out into the dining area.

Edit Response:
Tianping sighed. He never wanted to confront a chef but knew it was part of the territory. Tales of their temper and ego were enough to scare any one out of the kitchen, or at least he liked to think so. But with a deep breath and a determined attitude, he entered the kitchen and scouted out the cook responsible for today's dish...or disaster.
"Excuse me, but one of our customers is complaining their food tastes too oily." he said as polite as he could muster. His pale red eyes watched the eyes of the cook narrow into slits as a fire smoldered in their reflections. "Perhaps you could cook up a new dish, with less oils this time?" he proceeded, trying to stay calm and level headed.
The same couldn't be said for the chef however. Those small smoldering flames soon turned into a raging wild fire as profanity after profanity rained down upon Tianping. No matter how hard the albino long tried to quell the chef's rage, none of it was working. What was worse was that the chef's anger was beginning to fuel Tianping's anger! He couldn't let himself blow up, that certainly wouldn't solve any of the problems.
As he did his best to bite his tongue and still try to calm the chef down, he cast his pale gaze around for Lin and any assistance she might be able to give. He would welcome it with open paws right now.

Today's customer has complained that their food smells as though it had been cooked in mud. After again calming the customer you go into the back to speak with the chef responsible for this dish.

Edit Response:
After last night's tragedy in the kitchen, Tianping was a little reluctant to head back in and tell another chef that his cooking wasn't up to par today. However, with a deep breath and a level head, he made the journey inside the lair of the beasts for a second shot. If he wanted to succeed, he had to keep trying after all.
Once he located the chef, he calmly explained the situation. "Excuse me, but one of the customers seems to think their food was cooked with mud. Now as strange as that sounds, why don't we just look into this matter calmly and see what might be presenting a problem?" he said, waiting for the rage and fury to begin. But surprisingly, as irritated as the chef looked, he didn't blow up in the albino long's face. Instead he gritted his teeth, muttered a few choice words, then they both nodded and agreed to take a peek at the dish, sort out the problem, and whip up a fresh fine tasting batch for the customers....even if the chef was in a sour mood the rest of the night.

Today you served a customer a dish that had not been fully cooked, chef was in a hurry it seems, and it was a bit on the cold side though not because you were slow in delivering it to the table. Your task is to calm the customer and then speak with the chef without causing them to rampage into the dining area.

Edit Response: Tianping could already tell today wasn't going to start out well. He had only barley managed to calm down the customer, he really didn't want to deal with the chef. However, as usual he marched himself into the kitchen and located the cook responsible for the cold meal. "Your meals are cold and under cooked. I'm sorry but this simply wont do." he said, or at least tried. His last word squeaked out just before the rage of curses and flying pans. Ducking for his life, he shouted, "RE DO THEM AND COOK THEM PROPERLY!" before dashing out the door to safety.

Today the customer complained, rather loudly, that the food was overcooked. Upon looking at it there doesn't look to be any burning or anything but you still must apease the customer and keep the chef from making a scene.

Edit Response: Tianping narrowed his eyes at the dish, inspecting for any signs of over cooked food. He didn't see any and he was slightly at a loss. However, with a gentle ton, he calmly explained to the customer. "I will see about bringing you a new meal, my most apologies." he said and after the customer let off their last choice words,t hey calmed down enough to nod a curt thank you as Tianping entered the kitchen to talk with the chef. After both he and the chef agreed nothing was burnt, they just decided to send out a new dish to keep the customer happy.

Day 5: Today a customer has complained that there is a bug in there food. Upon inspection of the food you do not find anything, however being a good host/hostess you take the complaint to the chef and ask for another plate. Hopefully you do this without causing the chef to fly into an outrage and stalk out into the dining area.

Day 6:Today your customer has complained that the food you brought them is not what they ordered. The restaurant isn't overly busy so you didn't pick up someone else's order. After you calm the customer, go talk with the chef to see where what they ordered is.

Day 7: Today one of your tables complains that their food tastes "odd" or possibly spoiled. Take the cook back to the chef and speak with them as you notice a slight odor to the food but are unsure of what it is.
