So, decided to pick up a Gamecube for nostalgias sake. Found out there's Phantasy Star for it, and my Gamestop has a copy. Is there a hack server I can still play it on, or is it not worth it to buy a copy of the game? Thought you guys would be the ones to know.

Yep, there's a server. Schtserv is the most popular one. (Googling that name should give you all the info you need) I've heard about others, but I've never used them so I can't say how they work. I haven't used Schtserv in a long time though due to various internet connection circumstances.

I'd say the game is worth getting even without online though!

i agree, the game by itself is a very good buy, and if you have the time and the ability to hook an Ethernet cable to the Gamecube, do look into the Schtserv hack, a lot of people including me are on it, LOL

Good to know. Apparently someone snatched up that copy from Gamestop yesterday, so I'm gonna have to buy online, which brings me to another question: Which do you suggest? Episodes 1 & 2, or episode 3?

episode 3 is card based, I'd stick with the hack n slash of ep 1&2

if you can afford it i would try and buy both, both are good games, but like they said 1&2 are hack & slashes and 3 is a card based game, i have both and both are fun, but yes if you want to play online get 1&2

Episode 1 & 2 Plus is apparently more stable for online gaming but Non-plus still has some nice glitches which you can exploit to clone items which is why I own a copy of both. That way if my online characters ever were corrupted (which happened once when I used to play online) I could at least have a copy of the items I lost on another memory card.

Also, I never played 3. I don't think I've ever even seen a physical copy of it which is disappointing.

i like it, it's good if you like card aspect games, you gotta have a taste for them i guess

I evaluate card based games on a system by system basis. For example, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was great although the card battle aspect is kind of a stretch for your typical card battler. I figure I'll get Episode 3 one of these days online.

i say if ya wanna judge it for yourself before shellin out the money, go up on youtube or sumthin, and check out gameplay footage, or a video walkthrough, to see the game for yourself, the majesty of the internet after all, LOL

Found a copy of the game locally. $50, the guy didn't know what he had. Now, all I need is a broadband adapter. If any of you guys know where I can get one cheap, as in less than 60 bucks, I'd appreciate the info.

Also, in case anyone else here is looking for a copy of the game, there's one being sold on Ebay right now for about 23 bucks. Heads up, since the other 5 are at least 80.

I used Ebay to get my BBA and a copy of PSO for about $30. I'd just keep checking there for deals.

It's an item from the Sims 3 event. There's a doctor, a tattoo artist, and a fireman. I've got extras of all of them if you want 'em. No charge, I'll give them to you.
