For all of your literary needs... at least concerning Ninja Skies. Discuss the fiction, make suggestions for plot, come up with OC's, etc. here.
Mostly discuss the fiction. And party. 3nodding

I think I have Yuko's situation pretty damn good. Whited out for spoilers:Currently about six or so months pregnant with Karasu and still one of the spies for the Akatsuki. There's going to be some more to it than that though, for instance, her loyalties between the organization and between those she considers friends is about to come into conflict with each other. I'm pretty sure that was what I was leading your OC into in the RP, we just never really had the chance to fully play it out.
Soooo, fiction. Feel free to add to that. 3nodding

That sounds pretty good for now, if I can think of anything more I will post it. Yeah, kind of hard to get some people role playing some characters.
Later, I might make some art for this. Seems like it would be fun to draw. I can make my attempt at steam-punk for my avi again.

Steam punk is just so much fun. 3nodding And because the clothing is usually as elaborate as it is, it's good practice for shading and depth, which is one of the biggest problems I have (besides the damn hands) in drawing.
Hair I can do. I can do fantastic hair. It's so pretty. xd Really do need to get a scanner or something so I can show you guys.

Ugh, hands and feet are the worst to draw. I just got a book today and talked a little about light source. I never really shaded before, just outlined and highlighted.
Yeah, you should so us when you do. biggrin

That's actually the only real criticism that I can give your work, is that there's no depth, but since you've really been working on the anatomy, I didn't want to add any more suggestions until you were ready to work on it.
Uh, if that makes any sense. sweatdrop
But yeah, usually artist choose where the light source is going to be in relation to the picture, then shade accordingly. That's really why the practice with the fruit basket thing, so you can get an idea of shape and how light refracts on it.
Something like that. o_o

I don't know how to add depth and all that, really just experimenting and learning on my own. sweatdrop
I took an art class in high school, but never really learned any of that. I guess I will have to try that at home sometime. xd

That's why I didn't mention it before, it's important to have in drawings, but since you're still experimenting and learning, it's a bit difficult to add in from the get-go. Besides, if you don't have the body types down, then it won't matter how well you depict your light-source. One thing at a time.
The book you got should help point some things out. And when you do get it down pact, the pictures of Karasu and Itachi afterwards should be interesting because you'll be playing with shadows.
But it's really a case of making the two dimensional drawings seem to be three dimensional. Shading goes a long way to do just that.
The NEXT thing is to add motion (or the illusion of motion), and that's even more difficult. sweatdrop

Motion? o_O So much to learn, I do think I'm slowly improving a bit though. I learned about line art so far and that my coloring is considered flat coloring as it doesn't have the shading. I also found this, it might help as well- http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=light source tutorial&order=9&offset=48#/d21xhsiOh, when working on shading, that would be perfect for my one Karasu picture that was inspired by the haunted mansion! That would be creepy and neat. twisted By the way, I am reading your fic, just might comment about it later when I can make coherent thoughts. xd

I'm actually not sure what it's really called, but making the drawings not look stiff and more flow-y.
For instance, Lily's drawings (and I really wish that she hadn't taken her site down, but people were just stealing o_o) looked like they were about to get up and either walk off the page or continue exactly with what they were doing. In other words, they just looked like snapshots of her subject.
That is AMAZINGLY difficult to achieve, there are some professional mangaka who haven't been able to do it yet.
So right now just work on getting your style down and then slowly implement the shading techniques, and then go from there. 3nodding
And that should help a good bit!

Noic chapter.
Hey, seeing as how you're doing a revamp and all, and you mentioned "new leadership" (not sure if you meant Dansho or not) could you change my character a bit in the fic? ; D
I want him to be a drug addicted assassin working under Dansho only because it provides the most money for his expertise. And I'm totally revamping him; he'll have the lightning element as his primary, and his only weapons will be daggers made by Adniel's scales. I want him to hate pretty much everyone except for his closecloseclose friends (Mira, Yuko, Haru and Dyzzi) and almost dedicate his life to his husband, despite how far he's fallen (ex-Yaoikage, resigned because the council started to hound on him for his drug usage).
I thought starting anew would be a good time to turn nice ole' Shane into a bamf. lol

O.k., I hadn't said anything yet due to some issues and somethings I have been working out. Anyways, so far the story seems to be pretty good, I will be able to say more about it once it starts to get going. 3nodding
As for the art thing, I think I get what you are saying the book I got said a little bit about it, it is called static movement and suppose to give the impression of energy and moment, even if they aren't actually moving. Or something like that. Lily's art is amazing, it's a shame how people kept claiming her art as things.
LOL Shane.

Okie, Shane, uh... I meant that Konoha was under the new leadership with Danzo, it's still kinda new.
I do have Saisei doing most of your paperwork (apparent in the next chappie to be posted momentarily because I had no internets today and did some work on that instead) and you were still in the "honeymoon" phase of your marriage with Naruto. But I can add that in, albeit slowly. You probably won't have been resigned/forced out until later in the story.
I'm still not sure what happened with John (the wedding event kinda petered out without a resolution there), but that could be a good cause of the drug addiction.
