My recital is tonight... well Part 3 of my recital is tonight. i'm a little sad and a little happy. The matinee show i cried when all my girls were dancing... i'm such a sap. I haven't slept much all this week. trying to get paperwork and costumes done. have the lighting programs done... Do anyother schools go full out of there recitals like this?
How stressful is your prep for recitals????

Im not sure about dance (because only the advanced dance class performs and im only a freshman) but my school in known for the arts so we always go full out on performances. Choir dress rehearsals are so stressful!

Personally, I try my best not to stress about it. But I'm sure my studio director and other dance teachers are totally stressed. We always go full-out on everything. Our costumes aren't always as nice as our competition ones, and our numbers are certainly less rehearsed(part of the major stress) but there's always fuss. My actual end-of-the-year recital is next weekend. This weekend I had another show(which I've just gotten back from actually) in which I performed all the numbers I normally take to various competitions~~

we start rehearsing dances for our recitals in january. our recital was this past weekend. Two days before we have rehearsal on the stage. and that whole week all the teachers are up til like 3 am getting s**t done.. its a bit excessive. we cut all of our own music. All of the lightening is done by us. the Costume alterations are done by the teachers. there isn't extra help
