I'm really interested in seeing this series, but I don't have HBO, so I'll have to wait until I can watch it online somewhere.
Has anyone seen it? Is it good?

I don't have HBO either, I've been following it online. >.>
Anywho, I've been a fan of the series for a few years now and I was pretty thrilled when I heard HBO was picking it up as a series. I'm usually kind of wary about HBO adaptations because they love to add copious amounts of sex and violence to everything, but since there's already a decent amount of that in the series I figured it was perfect for them. The show has been pretty awesome so far. It's one of only two television shows that I'm currently following, so I guess that says something for how much I like it. For people who have read the books there are a few infodrop type scenes that are useful for those only watching the show but sometimes kind of tedious for fans who already know the characters. They're not that bad for the most part though. Some details have been changed or left out to some degree, but so far they've been fairly true to the books. Also, Peter Dinklage has done an amazing job as Tyrion. I have a ridiculous amount of love for his character.

That's true about HBO. True Blood was based off of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I've only seen the commercials, but they're ridiculously racy. I guess sex sells? I don't know.
That's good to hear that it sticks pretty closely to the series.
