Mia Faye Burton, the name given by her parents Savannah and Deyonte, was born on February 13th in Boston, Massachussetts. Although the married couple were debating on a second child, their first was a blessing from God - perhaps an "angel", to be exact. Being the only child, young Mia spent a lot of time with her mother and father as to going to parties, amusement parks, carnivals, and so much more. Growing up in a small neighborhood, she played with the little kids on the streets everyday after school. Whenever the weather is sunny, she and a small gang of boys would play sports - in which they took serious consideration into roles. In this case, Mia was picked on for "throwing like a girl" and not being "fast" enough to pass by three bases in baseball. With a simple bat and ball, she thought of this as a stupid game. Not only was she teased but her self-esteem was crushed by the painful insults. Without another word, the young girl dropped her equipment and walked home.
Throughout middle and high school, she have vowed herself to place herself into training. As a growing teenager, Mia sacrificed her studying time for running. With small steps, she ran a mile each day for half a year. Despite piles of schoolwork and projects, the stubborn child cared less - which made her parents worry. However, the female's grades were at average, thanks to her conscience. So much to say, her training was more important than her education ( she would say to herself than her parents, fearing that they would take away her practice time or forbid it ). From her Sophomore to Junior year, Mia Burton signed up for Track and Field. Although she wasn't considered the best, her teammates were friendly and cooperative with her progressing work. Satisfied and comfortable, she decided to stay. In her spare time, running was switched over to the game she despised the most as a young child - batting baseballs.
