I say you can get a decent sized house for under $30,000?

I've even looked at some of those houses listed and they're pretty nice. (Since I'm moving within the next few months or so.

Because every one is convinced you need a huge house to be happy. xd
The bigger and more ridiculous the better!

"3 person family? Better get a 5 bedroom house." gonk

Good luck on your house search! : D

Wanna know why? THIS is why. neutral
All three of those houses trailers are in the neighborhood I used to live in.
That shitty obnoxious drug-dealing skank-filled trailer park.
Oh, and the place is overrun by stray cats.
That is why I find it hard to find a decent place for a decent price.

Because the house not only needs to be decent in price but should have enough bathrooms and rooms to compensate for the family size and needs and should be in a decent area. The majority of the houses that go from $30,000 and under around my area have only three-four bedrooms and only one-two bathrooms. And some of the areas they're placed in aren't exactly satisfactory in regards to crime rates and in my case don't exactly convenience transportation to our current schools.

The houses that do though are over $30,000...

Heheh, I live in Australia. An affordable house is under 200k.

A rundown dump would be under 100k.

Chances of finding anything selling for 30k anywhere near anything at all? Nil.

If you want a decent, three bedroom home... brick veneer or weatherboard where I live... expect to pay upwards of a quarter of a million dollars. If you want it in a nice area, expect at least 600k to 1 million dollars.

Same style house.

Australia... and Melbourne, are expensive places to buy property.

even rental is hugely expensive. I don't even wanna tell you all what I pay a week to rent my house.

Oh my god. The area I live in, I could expect to pay $200k+ for a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom home. In the wayyyyy outer suburbs. And the rooms aren't big.

The house I live in would have cost around $160-$200k to buy, (I don't own it) and it's 3 very small bedrooms, (I can just fit a QS bed in mine with little walking room) 1 bathroom. That's standard for the whole area. And the area... I have drug dealers up the road, I have a family of seven next door who have domestic arguments nearly every day.

I wanna go live where you guys are! Housing is so cheap!!!!
