Welcome to Hell, er, class Huh? Oh, umm, welcome and stuff. I'll be your teacher, Alcott Northwind. Call me either Alcott or Mr. Northwind, I don't care. I've only got a few rules. One, don't tell me smoking's bad or that I shouldn't be doing it, you'll just be getting smoke blown at your face. Two, don't even think about talking text. OMG, does it tick me off. I don't care if you come in late, or anything, because I'll be coming in late sometimes, too. So, uh, have fun in class, learn new things, yada yada.

 Marie strolled into class. When she looked around she realized she was the first one. As she sat down in the front row, she realized she may have been a tiny bit over enthusiastic about the class... It didn't really matter that there was no one there yet. She just took out Wuthering Heights from her backpack and continued where she left off. Looking at the clock she decided she probably finish another two chapters before class started.

Alcott Northwind Alcott walked to class, a lit cigarette in his left hand and a donut in the other. He was still a little sleepy from getting up so early, but he was planning to take a nap in class since kids today think it's so cool to skip. He really didn't see why skipping was all that. Sure you didn't have to learn, but what else was there to do? Ah, that didn't matter much to him. He yawned as he stepped into the classroom and blinked when he noticed one girl sitting in the front row, reading a book. This is new. He just stood there for a second, wondering what to say. "Er, you're here pretty early." he muttered.

Marie heard the muttering and answered without looking to see who it was. "Yes, I was excited about the class so I came early. I just came too early it seems."

"That excited for history, eh?" Alcott muttered and sat on his desk. He took a while to smoke his cigarette and put his shoes on his desk. "Tell me all you know... about the French Revolution." he said. Might as well test her knowledge.

When she looked up she saw the teacher. As he asked her the question she smiled and shut her book. "Alright then. The French Revolution... where to begin... well some of the reasons that it was caused was due to the economic crisis caused by lack of employment, wars in which the french contributed funds and troops to, such as the American Revolution and the Seven Years War, and one of the major reasons, famine across the country along with soaring bread prices. This led to the calling of the Estates-General, then the National Assembly which had taken the Tennis Court Oath, meaning they would not disband until France had a constitution, then came the radical National Convention which beheaded Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antionette... I could continue to go on with the rest of the phases of government at that time but I think I'll stop. Some of the major events during the Revolution were the Storming of the Bastille, the Women's March on Versailles and if you count it as a event, the Great Fear." After speaking she looked at him. "Is there anything that you were really looking for with that?" She asked curiously.

Alcott chuckled and blew our a ring of smoke. The girl's knowledge was truly impressive. "I've only got a few more questions for you." he grunted, not looking at her. "First one, like many other revolutions, the French Revolution had a certain phrase the people always went by. That phrase would be...?"

 Kuro quietly entered int the classroom, hands shved into the pockets of his hoodie as emerald eyes looked around the classroom. Not very many people were here. Huh. Did everyone skip? Kuro only shrugged lightly and sat down in a desk in the middle. Automatically and unconsiously, Kuro brought his right leg up to rest on the edge of the chair, his chin resting on his kneecaps.

She pursed her lips and closed her eyes as she thought. "The certain phase everyone went by..." She opened her eyes. "Are you talking about the Thermidorian Reaction?"

Alcott set his donut down and ran a hand through his blonde hair then glanced at the two new student. There went his nap. Eh, oh well, at least he'd get paid. "You." he told the boy that must've came from gym class since he was so sweaty. "Tell me what phrase the French Revolution was famous for." he said. Hey, he had to see if these students were really meant for Dual Credit History.

"Well done." Alcott smirked and got up. He opened a marker and began to write his name on the board for his few students to see. Alcott Northwind. There we go. After he was done, he leaned his back against the wall - not on the part that had his name written on it - and glanced at the other boy (Kuro). Couldn't leave him out of all the fun, right? "Tell me what weapon was made famous because of the French Revolution." he said and crossed his arms.

"Yes... and no." Alcott yawned and tilted his head to where it rested on his shoulder. "It was a nice weapon at the time, yes, but it wasn't the most famous one." he said and smirked. "I'm honestly surprised you guys didn't get it, it's the guillotine." he said then kneeled down and opened his desk drawers. He pulled out a small replica of a guillotine and set it on his desk. "Killing more than ten thousand people during the revolution." he yawned again and tugged on the string, making the blade slam down on the model.
