 Eric Chance The Second Engineer.
Eric walked in as the door moved up and he looked around the smell of the Engine room made him smile. He saw the damage and instantly began work." Damn i'm out for a few months and this place falls apart. Chief it think its time you let me take charge." He said jokingly as he grabbed a piece of metal and lifted it over to a pile and walked up to the Chief and spoke. " So couldn't handle the place with out me?" He said messing with the chief he smiled and spoke again." It is good to see you again Chief so what you need me to do first?" He said as he knew she would appreciate his help he wasn't the type to think he was all that he was the type to know he was good because he was good.

Kiyoshi looked up as Eric entered the room,"Where have you been? I ordered you out of cryo 20 minutes ago." She threw a wrench over her shoulder nearly hitting Eric in the head, "Hand me that laser cutter, these coils are fused at the bolt, we've been dealing with this kind of thing for days."
She got up kicking the panel she was working on, frustrated at all the damage to her beautiful engine. "The last explosion destroyed half of main engine 1, my beautiful baby. I need you on main engine 2 and the plasma coil base." She wiped her hand across her face, pushing the hair out of the way, cursing in elvish.

Eric Chance The Second Engineer.
Eric only laughed as he tossed her the plasma cutter and grabbed a pair himself and walked a way a bit." Chief i told you not to throw me in the cooler should have just kept me awake." He said as he grinned and head to the second engine it was running but man was it damaged." Damn what did you guys fight ?" He wasn't sure what could have hit the engines so hard. He began working on the engine the power converters on it were slightly damaged so he began to work on fixing that it woudln't take long and once that was done he would get an analysis from either the chief or another Engineer.

Kiyoshi took the plasma cutter from Eric, beginning to burn away the damaged bolt and coils,"I froze you cause it was the best decision at the time, and it was good too because everyone who was on deck when the engine blew incinerated." She looked to the side, not wanting him to see how much she regretted not being there to help, "I was on the bridge trying to fix a glitch in the long range sensors when we were ambushed by an Andaron Battle class Mai ship, engine 1 got hit first causing the plasma to ignite the whole engine room."
She looked around at the charred and burned pieces of the ship she had yet to replace or fix. "Since the explosion I've had to wake up the whole secondary engine crew, even then we are short 30 crew for the amount of damage to my poor babies." She finished cutting and got up, starting to kick the bolt and coil with the heal of her shoe until they finally broke off revealing the damage under them."Great, the engine is in worse shape than I thought," She started pulling out parts that were too damaged to be salvaged, noting the pieces and where they went on the tablet to her side.

Eric would have replied but when he finished fixing the power converters a hum came from Engine two as its power was stabilized allowing it to run better." We should be able to run off of engine two for a few days which means we got a bit more time to work on Engine one. And assuming from your reaction its a piece of s**t at the moment." He said as he walked over to the plasma coil base and started working at fixing them as best they could. When he got down there he noticed some of the plasma coils had melted and he groaned. " We got any extra Coils?" He asked " Coils 3 and 5 are melted." He said as he started to cut the melted cables. " And chief." He said as he turned to her and smiled." Thanks for bringing me out." He said as he turned back to his work.

Kiyoshi looked at engine 2 he was making good progress,"It is more than a piece of s**t at the moment, we basically have to rebuild it from scratch." moved some of the burnt pieces out of the way, "Damn... coils 2 and 7 are melted over here too..."
she let out a sigh. "We don't have near the amount of coils that we need." She heard him talk about coils 3 and 5 and kicked one of her burnt coils."We wont be running fight for years at this rate. And you better show me that it was a good idea to bring you out,"

Eric Chance The Second Engineer.
Eric smiled as the sound of his metal arm was heard as he ripped out the coils and set them in a pile he would have to remake them it would take a few extra days but he would be able to do it. " Chief wanna switch? I was always told i was born in an engine i can remake i from scratch give me ... 4 days no sleep only a few breaks i can have it rebuilt." He said as he stood up and twirled the small portable torch of his and then headed towards the engine she was near." Lets see this beast." He said as he opened up one of the many panels on it and cringed this side was all broken he might have to adjust his days but he was still determined to make it in four days. " Chief you won't regret waking me." He said as he turned his torch on and literally dove into the engine only his feet were noticeable as they dangled out. The sound of cutting and welding could be heard as he held a cutter in one hand an a welder in the other. The good thing about Eric he wasted no time.

Kiyoshi rolled her eyes at his cockiness, taking a look around,"Thats adorable of you to think that but there is a lot of damage, when I said that the engine exploded I meant it." she looked at the engine in front of her at the charred pieces and as she looked around she could still see pieces of the crewmen who had been in the room, "we would need over 100 coils made, each coil needs plasma and all our plasma was burnt away."
she let out a sigh. "We will have to go down and mine it from planets."

Eric Chance The Second Engineer.
Eric climbed out of the wreck and sighed for once he wasn't going to be able to fix an engine. " Hmm well then we have no choice we need to get a new engine." He took a step back as he spoke aloud to the ship. " Hotaru, I need to ask you a question." He said as he waited for the AI to reply back to him. He wondered how they were going to manage to get a whole new engine. Getting it was the hard part installing it would take less then a week if everyone did their best and stayed up for several days straight.

" What is our current location? " He said as he looked at the AI that formed in front of him. He was hoping they weren't to far from a Spaceport that might have an engine they could get. Even if it meant trading something for it he figured they could go with out something and be good still. " We are in need of a New engine this one is beyond repair where is the nearest spaceport which may hold an engine." He said.

Hotaru walked over to Eric, "We are 400 years from the nearest space port at the rate of acceleration currently available to us. My engine will have to be repaired, we are in a star cluster with plenty of raw material to rebuild me."

Eric Chance The Second Engineer.
Eric sighed as he knew this process was going to a dangerous one. He wasn't sure how they were going to mine the plasma and make enough coils to run the engine. First of all they wouldn't be able to get some much need parts. They might have to remake the engine and use some other source to power it. Who knows maybe they would find some alternate source on one of the stars near them. Maybe there was a planet near them that has some sort of life on it. " Is there any planets which can sustain life near us?" He asked it would easier to remake the engine on a planet rather then floating in space.
