Has anyone seen the new line of minitures from Citadel called Citadel Finecast? I've seen a few so far and they look pretty good. I just wish they would show some more 40K minis though.

******** me, really? D: I just get around to putting together my pewter Mandrakes (which are being total bitches to put together) and then this stuff comes out?

Well damn. I might make my Incubi purchase a set of Finecast... Though... That Succubus looks damn tempting as my next acquisition, too... I'll have to ponder that one.
Hope they release Wyches in it. I'm tired of worrying over my plastic models. My Shardnet+Impaler Wych broke the shaft of the Impaler, just over the course of a move! I even wrapped them all carefully in a towel. :/

Heya all!!!

The finecasts are awesome!!! they're only coming out with a few so far... they're resin (in case some didn't know razz ) but its not hte same as forgeworld stuff but similar. I was talking to some GW ppl and they were switching everything out, getting rid of metal models etc. They came out this past saturday. They've got a couple models but not a whole lot.. they'd definately be easier to work with. The boxes are cool too, now you can actually see what they'll look like put together instead of trying to read the small printing on the blister boxes.....

Not yet. Regardless if they're for 40k or not, I'll be using them for 40k if I can convert them for it. Can someone post links if they found them online?

Don't worry, folks, they are releasing 40k Finecasts. Looks like mostly Elites/HQ for now, though.

Which is why I'm going to be grabbing either another unit of Mandrakes, or a squad of Incubi. >:3

I've heard they have problems with bubbles in the resin.

oooh that would really suck if they did... probably won't buy any resin stuff for a bit...i've learned when new stuff comes out you should always wait a while, they alway send up coming up with something better or it doesn't work that well XD

they do look good though, the gw guys were putting some together to display, and a regular was bending stuff on it, and it didnt break lolol

Meh, they look good, but I'd ratha' have metal models, they give more o' a powa'ful feel when movin' 'em about th' battlefield, like they actually be somethin' ta' dread

Apparently it's nothing a little glue wouldn't fix. I'd be perfectly fine with that, but to each theirs, so... yeah.

Between bubbles in the resin and a malformed cast, I'd take the bubbles. I can't fix the malformed cast (my Mandrake's arm looks like it had a brush with a glass torch; half the Baleflame and his hand don't exist).

I quite like the quality look, and they seem to be more detailed than metal, though I still love my metal Zoans and Ahriman and such. There is nothing like the feel of metal as you pick it up.

I had heard rumors for quite a while now that GW would be doing away with metal figs, I guess we just got our proof.

I work in retail with a lot of commodities, and over the last few years anything made with metal has had the price increase quite a bit. I think that production cost probably are the reason.
