Family: He's the single child of a strict family, who's motto is to 'be the best'. His family and Kei's family are so close they consider themselves to be related by bonds, not by blood.

Personality: Kai is very loud and social, and can seem like a jerk at times due to all his boastings, he puts on a 'tough' personality sometimes when he feels uncomfortable, but underneath all that he has a heart of gold. He has a soft spot for Kei, no matter how much it seems like they're not getting along, since they are 'rivals'.
Are you on the journey and why: Yes, he tagged along with Kei. He say it's because he wants to get away from the fighting between his family and Kei's, but it's really because he actually cares about Kei and wants to be there for him if anything bad happened
Bio: Kai and Kei's parents knew each other before Kai and Kei were even born. Kai's parents had high expectations of him, and even named him Kai which means the 'keeper of the keys' in Welsh in hopes that he would be a future keyblade master. No matter how much Kai tried, he could never beat the unmotivated Kei at anything, forming a rivalry over time. When Kai's parents found out that Kei was chosen for the keyblade and that he wasn't, Kei and Kai's parents have been fighting ever since. Using the excuse that he didn't want to be around the fights any more, Kai joined Kei on his journey.
