The Tower is the oldest structure in Landing. Human beings built it when they first colonized Iwa, and it was constructed with machinery that was later abandoned in the great ships that were left in space. The blocks that make up the exterior walls of the Tower are three feet thick and straight from the Ashen Mountains. The doors and window shutters are made of kiln dried silver tree wood, which is nearly as strong as steel. Not only does the structure blend in with the rest of the region, but it would be nearly impossible to take down an Ashenstone structure of that size. The original colonists meant for it to be that way. The Tower was built to be a last resort safe house for the people of Landing. Currently, those who protect the Soul Stone and fight in the war against the Rifters call the Tower home and their headquarters.
The large double door entrance to the Tower opens up to the first level. Upon opening the doors, one would immediately see the large Ashenstone spiral staircase that goes to the rest of the building. Behind the staircase is the fireplace that, via a sophisticated system of ductwork, heats every room in the Tower on cool days. The first floor also contains the kitchen, the pantry, and the common area. The other ten floors of the tower are nothing but living quarters. At each level, one can step off the stairs and into a hallway. On each hallway, there are four rooms. This makes a total of forty decently large rooms. At the very top of the staircase is a hatch in the ceiling, which leads to the roof.
Scattered around the area surrounding the Tower are a handful of utility buildings. There is a stable for horses, a small barn for pigs, a small chicken coop, a greenhouse with raised garden beds filled with Shelterwood soil and plants that bare edible fruits and nuts, and a large barn that's used as a workshop. All of these buildings are made of super durable Ashenstone and silver tree wood.
The position of this ancient structure is simple. The Tower is due south of the center of Homestead Lake, halfway up the side of one of the Ashen mountains. It blends in with the rest of the region, but it is still easy to find.

[[ It might take me a lil while to get use to this. I always check before I post but then BAM! Someone else posted and now I'm all whacked out lol. ]]
Psyche grinned widely and ran her long fingers through her long multi colored hair to get it out of her face. Relief washed over her as she repeated Iri's words in her head. While she loves running and walking the possibility of coming this far to chase a false rumor had made her nervous. Now that she knew she hadn't wasted her time she felt ecstatic. With her nerves calmed and her thoughts calmed she realized that her stomach was empty. "Awesome! So the resistance is here..." Psyche inhaled and the enticing aroma of food filled her nostrils, "And so is dinner." Psyche realized that the girl named Iri must be the one everyone calls "the Ghost" but her stomach demanded attention and Psyche never denied her stomach.

(( Then let's set up a posting order! Psyche, Iri, Hax. That alright? ))
Iri opened the door and walked into the common area of the Tower, leaving the door open for Psyche and Hax. One person was already seated at the dining table. She was a young woman with blonde hair that was tinged green at the tips. The woman looked as though she might be Iri's sister. She raised a brow as Iri walked in.
"New friends? That's why you're late."
"Nice to see you, too, Mag! Oooh..."
The winged woman's stomach growled. Spread out on the table was an assortment of dishes. A roasted chicken, a plate of fried fish, boiled and mashed Iwanese tubers, and a pie with a filling of Iwanese fruit that was grown in Mag's greenhouse. Both water and ale were in pitchers, too. There were plenty of plates and silverware.
"Mag, you spoil me. Psyche, Hax, this is my sister, Magdalena. Now, please feel free to dig in!"
Mag waved and half heartedly smiled. "Wist won't be here tonight, so there's plenty to go around."

((KK, that works for me, feel free to skip ahead if I seem to vanish when it's my turn though xp ))
Hax bowed her head for a moment towards Mag "It's a pleasure to meet you" she said before she took a seat. She sniffed a bit before pouring some Ale and glancing between the chicken and the fish before deciding to stick with her cat like side's recommendation. She dished up before shifting her body back to the silvery colored hybrid-form."Fish just doesn't taste the same otherwise" she offered as explanation before anyone could ask. Taking one bite and her eyes lighting up at the taste.

[[ Thats fine with me. Sadly though I was dragged to Bell's room and held captive with her toys for a while. So anytime I am slowing ya'll down feel free to work around it the best you can. ]]
Psyche sat at the table with everyone else. She looked around and smiled at Hax's fish comment. "It looks awesome!" Psyche filled her plate and began to eat. Psyche comtemplated Iri's scent as she ate. She smelt of the mountain and a few other various scents from her surroundings. Psyche could not get over the strongest scent and could not manage to place it. She could tell something was there but it seemed to blend with the surrounding area. She concentrated while trying to not seem like a psychopath. Suddenly it clicked. "WIND! You smell like the wind! Its been driving me nuts since I first noticed you two!" Psyche paused for a moment and realized that yet again she was probably being outspoken or maybe rude but the wheels were cranking away in her head as she put things together at a rate that might not make sense to them. "White clothes. Blood colored hair. Lives in the mountains. Wind. Iri are you the Ghost?" Psyche felt excited as she realized who Iri was and then slightly idiotic for the outburst.

She nodded towards Psyche. After hearing how Iri was described Hax just tilted her head. "So I'm in the home of a resistance and someone famous?" she blinked owlishly several times after asking. The fact that the catgirl had stopped eating to ask would probably mean a lot more if they knew just how addicted her cat-side was to fish, especially something that tasted as familiar as this.

(( By the way, Gunner Doll told us to go on without her for a while. Monitor on her computer fried, so she's gonna be out of commission for a while. I may have to puppet her a little bit. ))
Iri swallowed a generous bite of chicken before sheepishly grinning. "I wouldn't call myself famous. Really, I prefer to keep myself very low profile. I even us an alias and wear a hood, so I'm not as easily recognized when I go to Shelterwood. The truth is, I prevented a large portion of my people from becoming slaves to the Rifters, but at the same time, I started the first war of Iwa. And, yes, this is the home of the resistance."
Mag reached over and poked her sister in the arm with a fork. Iri grimaced and gave her a foul look, but that didn't discourage the younger woman. "Your cat friend isn't from here, right? The trees told me. You might want to fill her in. Tell her what's going on."
Realization crossed Iri's features and she fervently nodded to her sister. The winged woman put down her own fork and cleared her throat as she organized her thoughts. Then she pulled back her hood, crossed her arms, and got comfortable in her chair.
"Lemme see how well I can sum this up. About six months ago, a hole opened up in the sky above Homestead Lake. Mag and I just happened to be rowing across the lake, taking some meat to sell in the Shelterwood market. These creatures that looked like lizard men with wings came out of the hole and took us. They took as many people as they could possibly carry. We were taken into what they call the Rift. Everyone was put in front of this thing called the Soul Stone. The Stone changed us with the intention of making us more useful as slaves of various types. I kind of slipped through the cracks. Whoever was operating the Stone that day didn't realize I picked up an element when I got my wings. I was immediately aware of what I could do, and as soon as I got a chance, I kind of turned into air, snuck out of my holding cell, and stole the Soul Stone. Wist saw me helping everyone escape, and he saw me holding the Soul Stone. He didn't really like his job, so he helped us and now he's staying in Landing with us. I've got the Stone hidden, which means the Rifters are out of business, but they're pretty keen on getting it back. The Rifters aren't very organized, so they never come in large groups, but they are more experienced in combat than most of us, so fending them off is a challenge. If Wist wasn't on our side, we'd be in some serious trouble. But, anyway, that's the gist of the situation. Sorry you landed in this mess, Hax."

((alright @_@ Kinda funny that Monitors are one of the things I have piles of spares of in the basement))
Hax tilted her head, but nodded. "Slavers usually are scavengers when it comes to magic and technology, taking something beyond their ability to replicate... That's going to keep them after your people for a long while." She put her fork down and cocked her head to the side blinking owlishly before her eyes seemed to glaze over. "Small groups suggest finite manpower. Lack of organization... maybe replaced own army with hired mercenaries or other privateers. Secondary option, unknown factor 'soulstone' relied upon instead of standing army." She shook her head, wondering why her other side felt the need to speak up.
"Sorry 'bout that. But seriously, I don't mind ending up in this. Protecting the weak is what I used to live for. This gives me a bit of a vacation honestly" She shrugged before taking a few more bites of the fish.
"Combat experience on my part usually comes down to having the better technology. When that fails.... my speed is a good way to set traps among the other ways to use it towards breaking large groups."
" If I'm stuck here I wouldn't mind lending myself to your cause. Just need to warn you that it would be in your best interests to vamoose if anyone did come to pick me up, especially from combat"

Reeve meanders nearer the tower- having no real destination, he finds himself drawn to the monolithic structure. "I bet there's a story here," he says to himself. Without breaking stride, he pulls a small leather-bound book from his pocket and begins jotting small notes down. Writing while moving is one of many seemingly useless skills that the Scribe-monks value for their purpose. As he nears the Tower, he flaps his hood over his head, shading his features somewhat. Traditions of the Order meant that he meet anyone new 'properly garbed.' That's just as well, given his somewhat cross expression. The heat is just too damned oppressive for all this formal what-have-ya. As he gets closer, he makes out details of the structure and even manages a simple sketch. Coming to the main double-doors, he pockets his book and raps curtly upon the portal.
"Hello?"

Mag quirked a brow and looked first at the door and then at her sister. The redhead looked equally wary. It was one thing to find a couple of strangers in the woods of the Ashens. People got curious about the mountains. But it was another thing for someone to actually come a knockin' on the door of the Tower. That didn't happen often at all. Shrugging, Iri got up from her chair and walked over to the big door. She left her spear leaning against her chair. She didn't really need it to fight, and she didn't want to seem unfriendly if it was just a lost traveler.
The door creaked open, and Iri found herself face-to-face with a hooded man. Violet eyes lit up with a friendly light. Good, it wasn't a tricky Rifter. The woman smiled and fully opened the right door.
"Hello, stranger! Can I help you?"

"Order of the Scribes, at your service," Reeve replies, bowing slightly. "My name is Reeve. I'm sorry to, err, trouble you, but could you tell me where I am?"

[[ You should mail me a moniter, Hax! lol I wonder what the postage on that would be? I'm my parents house so I doubt I will be able to rp much but I wanna kinda give ya'll an easy way around my absence. Sorry ya'll! ]]
Psyche listened to the other two talk and munched on her chicken quietly. She was trying to block out the memory of when the Rifters came to her home and took the life of her over protective brothers. The knock on the door snapped her out of her reverie and also made her jump slightly. She turned when she heard the male voice and was instantly frozen. She had never been around a man unless her brothers were there except for the time she was being held captive with many others by the Rifters. It had been hammered into her that she was not to be alone with a man or even speak to one if she didn't have one of her brothers with her. She had never liked the rule and now that her brothers were gone she didn't know why she should follow it. At the same time she wanted to honor her brothers and not disobey them. Psyche decided to remain quiet for the rest of the evening while she could feel out the situation and decide what needed to be done. She wouldn't be rude and leave the table until everyone else did and excuse herself to be alone when it was proper.

((Good question, a flat panel wouldn't be too much... but if we're talking one out of the CRT pile... I think the postage alone would cover a getting a used flat-screen xp ))
The catgirl found herself slightly unsettled by the sudden silence after the new surprise arrival. The ears on the sides of her head twitched slightly upon hearing his question, but she remained silent, taking several slow bites from the fish while her gold eyes glanced him over.

"Nice to meet you, Reeve! You can call me Iri. You're at a place that's always just been called the Tower. I live here with a couple of others. As I was just telling my acquaintances, my friends and I have set up a sort of base of operations for a resistance against the Rifters here."
The redhead stepped aside and motioned for Reeve to come inside. Then she headed back to take her seat at the dining table.
"We just sat down to dinner. Join us, if you like. Mag made plenty to go around. I was kind of hoping you were another one that heard about the rumor of this operation. But I guess a member of your order wouldn't be interested in fighting. That doesn't make you unwelcome, though."
Iri looked back to Hax and appreciatively grinned. "Ma'am, if you really think you want to get involved, then I certainly won't stop you. If we're gonna pull off my idea of a solution to this mess, then I'll need all the help I can get."

"I was never really top-marks at combat, Miss Iri," Reeve replies with a little bit of a sheepish grin. "I'm a tad more of an....observer? I suppose?" Introductions having been made, Reeve ducks out of his hood, blinking his amber eyes against the light. "I have a way with herbs, but I daresay..." he ventures, peering a bit at the company, "a healer of the older ways may not be of much use..."
