The Socialites Mask

What is your real, birth name? What name do you use?
My real name is, Rosabella Abandonato, however, some of my close friends, and only my close friends, are allowed to call me Rose or Rosa.
Do you have a nickname? What is it, and where did you get it?
Unfortunatly, I do have some nicknames given by my parents, and quite frankly, you can insert this question into whatever orifice you chose... I'm not going to embarass myself by actually telling you.
Height?
5' 8"
Weight?
135 lbs.
Distinguishing features?
I have a birthmark that almost resembles a cresent moon around my 5th throactic vertabre
How do you dress most of the time?
My style tends to be rather elegant and sophistocated, I do dress in a way that is luxurious.
How do you "dress up?"
Royally, when I got to something formal I go all out and I aim to make sure that all eyes are on me and all mouths are agape when I walk into the room.
How do you "dress down?"
"Honestly... I don't dress down all that much, I feel frumpy and unattractive when I do so, the least that I'll wear is something more mundane like a summer dress or angora sweater with the weather depending. I'm usually pretty happy with my average, everyday look.
What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Nightgowns and only nightgowns. Flannal if I must in the winter but Satin the rest of the year and when I can help it.
Do you wear any jewelry?
Of course! I never leave home without earrings, a ring and a necklace.
In your opinion, what is your best feature?
Hmmm... wouldn't you like to know? The mystery around me seems to be my best feature. I like to make sure that people don't know me too well.
What's your real birth date?
June 25
Where do you live? Describe it: Is it messy, neat, avant-garde, sparse, etc.?
I live in one of my daddy's penthouse suits that he never uses, he gave it to me when I turned twenty. He wasn't using it and I loved the veiw so he just let me have it seen as he was just going to sell it anyway. I like to make sure that the look of my house is modern and trendy, yet holds a certain amount of antiquity to it. Almost a modern Gothic feel if that's not too much of an oxymoron. However you wish to describe my place it is always neat and spacious, everything has it's place and god help you if you move things too far from where they were. I don't mind the odd dish left out for a while but it had better find its way near the sink for washing before you go or you'll be in a world of trouble from me.
Do you own a car? Describe it.
"My car isn't really worth writting home about, it's only a Dodge Viper...
What is your most prized mundane possession? Why do you value it so much?
My favorite prized possession is either my music box that my grandmother left me when she passed away, or my dousing crystal necklace that my aunt gave me for my birthday. I like the music box because it has a hauntingly beautiful melody and it reminds me of Grandma whenever I hear it. The necklace because it makes me feel spiritually energized for some reason.
What one word best describes you?
Mysterious.
I make sure that there is something about me that people want to know more about, I never give away much more than my name and a general impression of myself. Its also worth noting that I seem to have this aura about me, I've been told many times and I certainly don't think that I do, but there have been a few people who have just felt... something... within me that leaves and impression. I've never felt it or even know what they're taking about so you'd have to ask them...

The Trivial, the Boring, the Mundane and the Personal

Familial Questions
What was your family like?

My family was fairly rich and we really had want for nothing. Growing up we tended to be a little spoiled because of both our inherited wealth from dead relatives and the money that Father brough in with his business. However, with wealth brought a rather strict and narrow upbringing, and we had to partake in a lot of traditional practices that are almost unheard of now a days. From my youth as a little girl, I was brought around and was introduced to possible heirs that would potentally prove to be my husband one day through an arranged marriage. My suiter, was picked out for me and in my teens we were set up to court and eventually we will be getting married... to be honest, I think he's an idiot. But all I have to really do is be pretty for him on occasion and he'll leave me alone for the rest of the time.
Who was your father, and what was he like?
My father is a very stern, no nonsence individual that held a prosparing company, two actually, though he mostly focused on his shipping companies. He does own a lawferm and gets a percentage of this workers earnings. My father is a man that is somewhat possessed by greed, he isn't above making deals with whatever mofia or crime syndicate that approaches him as long as he gets something profitable out of it; either a favour from a Crime lord, protection, or a cut of profit from whatever drugs, slaves or black market goods he'll be transporting. He isn't a man to cross, but despite this he is a good family man and a very loving father. He might not say it, but he is proud of his family, and you know it.
Who was your mother, and what was she like?
My mother is a very social woman, who does some modeling on the side whenever she either feels like it or some friends call her in for a favour, she doesn't need the money but takes it anyway, usually putting it in the 'house pot' for emergencies or just some free spending money when she has to indulge a whim to go shopping. My mother was a very vain woman, she always worries about the new blemish or the bags under her eyes and although she is still young yet, I can forsee her getting multiple face lifts and other plastic surgeries when she is finished. Slow to temper but even slower to please she can be a very fierce woman when she choses to be and often carries a grudge for people who wronged her. Aside form this, she is a very caring and nurturing mother who is quick to protect and defend her young. She is a firm believer in that family is everything and makes sure that we have strong relations with our family outside of the household.
What was your parents marriage like? Were they married? Did they remain married?
My parents marriage was very good, you could tell that they loved each other and my father knew just how to swoon my mother and get himself out of the dog house whenever he managed to get himself put in there. There were some squabbles but nothing that lead to violence or serious consequences.
What were your siblings names? What were they like?
I have an older brother and a younger sister, I had a twin sister at one point but she had... a rather unfortunate accident happen to her a while ago.
My brother takes after my father, though he had developed quiet the taste in women as of late and as much as he tries to hide things from the family, you know that this Casinova has been rolling in tbe bed sheets with anything that two legs and anatomy that he doesn't. He is a swooner, his words are always laced with honey and passes over a silver tongue, but all he's really interested in when talking to the girl next to him is how to lure her into a position to fulfill his lustful ambitions. He is the most charitable person of the family though, he can hardly walk by a homeless man on the street and not reach into his pocket and bring out a bill for the person. He uses most of his allowable funds to give to others, and occasionally volunteers his time when an orginization needs help.
My younger sister is one of those people who indulges a little more than she should in the pleasures of the world. She'll always have room for dessert after meals or buys things she doesn't need simply for the thrill of it, she isn't afraid of trying to manipulate others to get what she is craving and when she gets older I can honestly see her getting into drugs and alchohol to get the next high. Aside from this short fall she possesses a great fortitude of will, she is one of those people who works hard to achieve her goals, whatever they may be and hates to give up when the job is unfinished. Despite her gluttonous needs, she is a hard worker and I can honestly see her being at the top of whatever business she wants to claim for her own at a young age... just as long as she keeps her indulgences in check.

What's the worst thing one of your siblings ever did to you?
My deceased sister once stole the man I was originally going to marry. I loved him with all of my heart and he was everything I ever wanted in a man. But she also wanted him, and behind closed doors she seduced him away from me and poisoned him against me with lies and deceptions. Together they convinced my father and his that they would be happier together than him with me. That raised my ire, and that was a slight that I will never forgive or forget.
What's the worst thing you've done to one of your siblings?
Not long after my ex proposed to my deceased sister and became engaged, we went to one of our summer cottages far away from civilization. It was one of those few rare times that we actually got away from things, I lured my sister away from the others so that we could 'iron things out' between us and brought her to where there was an old, deep well. It was a ways from our cottage and a good place for some privacy. There I swooned her into a false sense of security before caving in the back of her head with a large rock and let her body fall into the well. I made sure that she was good and dead before I toss the rock down the well and ran to my father and mother, telling them that she had lost her balance and fell down the well, hitting her head in the process.
I always get what I want. Always. She had no right to deny me happiness and her slight was the last straw after she stole the man I loved from me. It was a lesson well learned, I think.

When's the last time you saw any member of your family? Where are they now?
Just before I woke up in the mansion, actually. We usually get together on the aniversery of my sisters 'accident' and 'morn'. I do so to keep up my facade of my innocences, the loss still effects the rest of the family so we get together in our black dresses and suits and lay roses on her grave, celebrating her short life.
Did you ever meet any other family members? Who were they? What did you think of them?
As mentioned before, I have a close connection with the rest of my family, so I would be here all day telling you about the rest of my living family.

Childhood Questions
What is your first memory?

I remember... the tranquility of our country home on a warm summer day, a gentle breeze that tossed my hair around while I played with my dolls, the endless blue skies that seemed to roll on forever and my mom and dad sitting on their white whicker loveseat, holding hands and cuddling. I can't remember what my other siblings were doing and the youngest hadn't been born yet. But that is the earliest memory of my life. I was young, about three or four anyway.
What was your favorite toy?
A ball jointed doll called 'Isabella' I loved her long black hair and her blue eyes, there wasn't anything too terribly special about her, but she was one of my favorites for whatever reason. I took her everywhere and I actually still have her, though she has sadly seen better days, she is laid to rest behind a glass container with silver ornate frame.
What was your favorite game?
I usually played pretend games and prefered them over board games and the such, I was always an imaginative child and was more bound to being the princess in a tower while my dad came and rescued me from whatever danger wrought me and denied my freedom.
Any non-family member adults stick out in your mind? Who were they, and how did you know them? Why do they stick out?
I remember a man that had come to my father on occasion, he was a recluse that lives up the road from the family. I didn't really know him, but he reminded me of a ghoul, his skin was almost white and he had black circles surround his eyes. His hair was thin and whispy, he always wore a long heavy coat no matter the weather and dragged a large sack with something that looked rather heavy, behind him with one hand. He never really did anything to us negatively, and he would occasionally come and help father with one thing or another. He just struck me as strange, like he was hiding something or knew things that would drive other men to the brink of insanity. Looking back, he was probably a victum of said insanity.
Who was your best friend when you were growing up?
I was acutally a bit of a loner when I was going up, I think the closest person I had as a best friend was my ex's twin sister, but even then we only saw each other on rare occasions.
What is your fondest, childhood memory?
When my father use to let me ride on his shoulders... I miss that.
What is your worst childhood memory?
Getting locked in the cellar after a dare to go in by my deceased sister to gather proof for my parents about the existence of the monster that we 'knew' was in there.

Adolescent Questions
How old were you when you went on your first date?

My ex took me on my first date when I was 13, it was one of the best I had ever been on.
It is common for one's view of authority to develop in their adolescent years. What is your view of authority, and what event most affected it?
I could care less about the authority of others, I am my own person and I shall decide what I shall and shall not do with myself. My affairs are not of anyone elses concerns.
What were you like in high school? What "clique" did you best fit in with?
Erm... social butterfly, maybe? I was usually aloof and did my own thing, I was comfortable with any group really, yet I didn't really feel like I fit in any one in particular.
What were your high school goals?
I was like most students, I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life and only had a vage, murky image of what I wanted in my head.
Who was your idol when you were growing up? Who did you first fantasize about in your life?
I really didn't have one in particular to be honest, my whim on such a thing was as fickle as my ever shifting daydreams.
What is your favorite memory from adolescence?
Watching my deceased sisters body tumble lifeless down the well.
What is your worst memory from adolescence?
When my ex came in and promptly ended our engagment in favour of my deceased sister.

Likes & Dislikes Questions
What hobbies do you have?

I collect music boxes and dolls.
Who is your closest mundane friend? Describe them and how you relate to them.
I have a few aquaintences, but I tend to be guarded and aloof for the most part, so I don't really have any.
Who is your worst mundane enemy? Describe them and why you don't get along.
Ugh, I have so many rivals its hard to keep track of them all...

I much more follow songs than bands. If I like it, I like it, and if I don't I leave it alone.
What tape or CD hasn't left your player since your purchased it? Why?
My music really reflects my moods, so I tend to shuffle music... a lot.
What song is "your song?" Why?
Libertina Grimm By Cradle of Filth. Under the screamed vocialization there are lyrics that almost fit what I know is inside me to a T. That's not to say that every lyric has me in it, but sometimes it comes close. ((Warning: Lyrics in the link may not be suitable for younger listeners... you have been warned.))
What's been your favorite movie of all time?
Sleepy Hollow directed by Tim Burtins.
Read any good books? What were they?
Meh, I much prefer painting or electronic entertainment over books.
What do you watch on the Television?
When they are on, I watch paranormal shows, they tend to fascinate me.
When it comes to mundane politics, do you care? If so, which way do you tend to vote? If not, why don't you care?
I honestly don't care about the politics and their issues. I find that I ended up voting for whomever lied to me the most, so I tend to keep out of it.
What type of places do you hang out in with your normal friends?
Someplace quiet and comfortable, like a cafe or a smaller cozy coffee shoppe.
What annoys you more than anything else?
When people feel the need to control me or force their pointless and meaningly opinions on me.
What would be the perfect gift for you?
A music box with a hauntingly beautiful melody.
What's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?
There was this one sunset that just captured me for whatever reason, I guess the colours just mixed perfectly or something. I still remember it to this day for whatever reason.
What time of day is your favorite?
The night time, I enjoy the stars more than I enjoy the clouds.
What kind of weather is your favorite?
Thunder storms with lots of rain, I love sitting by the window and watching them.

What is your favorite drink? (Coffee, Coke, Juice, Beer, Wine, etc.)
To be honest, I don't care much for heavy drinks so I tend to lean more towards the wines. I do like Coke, but I tend to drink it rarely.
What's your favorite animal? Why?
Thats a tough one... probably the Dolphin they seem so carefree and playful. Having the freedom of the ocean must be pretty cool too.
Do you have any pets? Do you want any pets? What kind?
I don't have any pets, but someday when I settle down and am not so busy, I want to get a pug.
What do you find most relaxing? (Not as in stress relief, but as something that actually calms you down.)
I find quiet the most calming and relaxing, something quiet and alone.
What habit that others have annoys you most?
When people look at my chest and not at my face, I don't mind shy people, but I hate perverts who feel the need to look down my tops to try and sneak a peek or something.
What kind of things embarrass you? Why?
Drunk people... people who can't hold their liquer and make asses of themselves do not belong with other people drinking. How can you not be embarassed around that?
What don't you like about yourself?
Sometimes I get too serious about something and I forget to have fun in life.
How would you like to look?
"I am comfortable for the most part with how I look, though granted I wish my hair as as black as my mothers and my eyes were as blue as my fathers.

The Beast Within

Morality Questions
What one act in your past are you most ashamed of?

Nothing really sticks out in my mind.
What one act in your past are you most proud of?
I really don't have one that sticks out in my mind here either.
Have you ever been in an argument before? Over what, with who, and who won?
I've had numerous arguments for various reasons and with various people. I tend to be opinionated even if I don't always say anything. When I do I can be blunt and that can lead to some confrontations.
Have you ever been in a physical fight before? Over what, with who, and who won?
It was kind of one sided but yes I won.
What do you feel most strongly about?
What do you pretend to feel strongly about, just to impress people?
The feelings of others, really. Its shallow of me to say, but I really don't care about anyone elses sob story and I don't push mine on anyone else. That's not to say that I have a total lack of sympathy or empathy for someone, but there is a time and place for such things and if your only using it to get attention then you need a smack. Still, that would reflect poorly upon me as a lady myself so I pretend to listen and fane sympathy in those situations.
What trait do you find most admirable, and how often do you find it?
Chivary to me is most admirable, maybe it's my upbringing but I do love it when a man swoons a woman and looks out for her and others. It angers me when ultra feminists ruin it with their own verson of misogynistic practices. Honestly ladies, shut up and let the man hold the flipping door for you and don't ruin it for the rest of us who find it charming!
Is there anything you think should not be incorporated into the media or art (sex, violence, greed, etc.,)? If so, what and why, and if not, why not?
Sex in media has become a lost art, seduction is suppose to be something that is classy and elegant, something that doesn't have to show much but leaves an everlasting impression upon someone. Now a days... I find it's just tasteless showiness, and the media has corrupted something that is suppose to be more subtle and graceful.
Do you have any feelings in general that you are disturbed by? What are they? Why do they disturb you?
Its hard to say if feeling apathy for my murdered sister would count. She did deserve it, but as a normal person, I should feel something, but I don't. So... its hard to judge if that is something is disturbing or not.
What is your religious view of things? What religion, if any, do you call your own?
I have my own set of religious views, I feel there is no such thing as a false religion, and that everything is a small piece of a much grandeur puzzle. I believe in balance of good and evil and the such.
Do you think the future is hopeful? Why?
I have little faith that the future is going to be all that great, with what we do to the planet, each other and everything in between... I'd be surprised if something good actually came out of this. We seem to be creatures of vices, and nothing good usually comes out of that.
Is an ounce of prevention really worth a pound of cure? Which is more valuable? Why do you feel this way?
What the hell does that mean...?
What's the worst thing that can be done to another person? Why?
I find that people reap what they sow, if what they sow gets them something terrible then so be it. Every action has its consequences. Such is the way of the world.
What's the worst thing you could actually do to someone you hated?
Nothing, people get what they deserve.
Are you a better leader or follower? Why do you think that? If you think the whole leader-follower archetype is a crock of crap, say so, and explain why?
I can be a leader, but I prefer to work 'behind the curtain' so to speak. I'm not one to be in the spot light if I can help it so I'm prefectly capable of letting someone else do the thinking and I just come up with ideas to throw in whenever I feel like it... or point out why something isn't going to work.
What is your responsibility to the world, if any? Why do you think that?
This world sucks, so I'm going to get what I can out of it. The world seeks to take things away from you so its best to take what you can, when you can, and then when you have it you can decide what to do with it later.
Do you think redemption is possible? If so, can anyone be redeemed, or are there only certain circumstances that can be? If not, why do you think nothing can redeem itself?
Not really, I mean, I suppose it is possible by why bother? Life is too short to worry about such things.
Is it okay for you to cry? When was the last time you cried?
Tears are only good for getting you what you want, but overall I find that crying only gets you a wet hanky, so the best thing one can do is just stiffen up ones upper lip and strive to change or achieve what one wants.
What do you think is wrong with MOST people, overall?
People are just... stupid. The person is smart, but put a few more in the room and they become dumb, stupid and panicy. I say we start to thin out the herd so that Darwinism doesn't make our species something beyond repair...

Miscellaneous Questions
What is the thing that has frightened you most? Do you think there is anything out there that's scarier than that? What do you think that would be?

I usually don't put myself in situations were I'm going to be frightened and uncomfortable with no way out. Watching scary movies is one thing. But living them is another. I'm not sure how I would react to these moments. Maybe stoically or maybe hysterically depending on what happened.
Has anyone or anything you've ever cared about died? How did you feel about it? What happened?
My grandma passed away from old age in her sleep, I was close to my grandma so this one hit me pretty hard. It's still a bit of a jagged wound but its no where near as bad as it once was.
What was the worst injury you've ever received? How did it happen?
I broke my wrist snowboarding in mountains once. I'm not one for sports and this is the reason why...
How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
Eep! Yes, don't tell, but I tend to be very ticklish. Especially on my sides under my ribs and in between my pelvis and my belly button
What is your current long term goal?
To build an empire so that I can increase my fortune.
What is your current short term goal?
To try and find away to become a widower or at least convince my father to let me marry someone other than the loser that I'm forced to be with now.
Do you have any bad habits? If so, what are they, and do you plan to get rid of them?
... I honestly can't think of any... if I do have bad habits I do them unconsciously so I don't know that I do them.
If you were a mundane person, what would you do with your life? What occupation would you want, and how would you spend all your time?
Well... I would probably go into something to do with animals. I much prefer their company to that of most if not all other people
What time period do you wish you had lived in? Why? (Looking at this as an attempt to change history doesn't count.) What appeals to you about this era?
I don't know... I'm pretty happy with the luxury of this era and I'm not too eager to give it up for the unwashed masses, disease, famine and plague. You can keep it.
How private of a person are you? Why?
I'm a very private person. I really dislike it when people stick their noses into my personal life.
If you were to gain an obscenely large sum of money (via an inhertiance, a lawsuit, a lottery, or anything else) what would you do with it?
"I don't know... add it to my pile I guess... Though maybe a shopping spree and buying my very own and first villa would be something to look forward to.
What would you wish for if you found a genie?
Eternal beauty.
What do you do when you are bored?
I tend to daydream, there is a certain pleasure in the beautiful insanity of ones dreams.
What is the most frightening potential handicap or disfigurement you can conceive of? What makes it so frightening?
Burning scars across my face. Society demands beauty and those who are deemed ugly are labled inferior.

Last Memory before you awoke:

Rosabella looked out the window of the limo, watching empty minded as the scenery passed by without anything in particular catching her interest. The road had been memorized for the amount of time they had traveled back and forth on this road, year after year to pay homage to a dead sister that she cared nothing for and, in fact, took her life with her own actions willingly. She pretended to care, and cried on command to keep up this solemn masquerade that she had been placing over her face to hide the corrupted and wrathful woman that was present in her family. Hiding in plan sight and brewing her own future damnation. Dressed in the black mourner garb that she always put on for this silly pilgrimage. She would much rather be at home left to her own devices, but family was important, at least that’s what her mother tried to raise them to believe. She supposed the sentiment was nice, and there was wisdom in her words, but she just couldn’t pull herself to love or forgive her sister for the happiness that she tore from her arms, the love that would never come back now that it had been tainted with lies and deceit in order to fulfill a selfish and toxic love. Her sister got what she deserved and she wouldn’t waste any real tears for her. She could have rotted in the bottom of the well for the rest of eternity for all Rosabella cared. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply as she snuggled down into the embrace of the leather seat of the car. Her mother was still sniffling at the loss of her daughter, and her fathers face had been worn, beginning to show his age at moments like these. The rest of the year he was strong and the same as he had always been, but on the anniversary of this event he seemed to wilt a little more each year. She didn’t know if it was a show for mother who still seemed to have a thorn in her heart over this, if it was the one time a year where he freely let his age come through and shuffled off his façade of a strong and independent man, or if he truly left a piece of himself behind with each visit. Her siblings were as bored as they looked though still respectful of what was going on. God she wished this would end. How much longer where they going to keep coming here? They didn’t mourn grandmas death this much so she was at a loss as to what made this thieving hussy so different. Grandma lived longer, she loved more and she didn’t turn people against each other to make sure that she got what she wanted. Their grandmother wanted them to be happy, and if her dead sister had learned anything, she should have learned to leave well enough alone and let her have some happiness in her life. Her current fiancé was boring, drab and a total waste of flesh and space. She wondered if there was a way to get out of this situation that her sister had put her in before she died. She supposed that she could lie about him reminding her of her sister and not wanting to marry him because she was painfully reminded of what she lost. That scenario would be unlikely though.

Rosabella subtly looked at the clock and gave and inner sigh, they still had two hours to go before they got to the family plot and she was so bored even daydreaming was getting old. Maybe a nap. She doubted that he parents would get sore over it. She inhaled a deep calming breath and found herself further seduced into sleep within the comforting embrace of the seat. The dull and dreary weather made things easier for her find such tranquility for sleep, the rain pattered against her window and added to the soothing sensation within her the limo. It didn’t take long for her to fall into deep, dreamless slumber that engulfed her utterly. It was the strange smell of warm food and a rather odd sensation of being wrapped in silk and finery. When Rosabella started to stir from what almost felt like a drug induced slumber, she found within her blurry vision a large table within a gothic room, chairs surrounded the table and were occupied by various people, some waking, some still asleep and others looking like they were enjoying the meal that was placed in front of them. Two huge chandlers gave light to the huge room. When her senses came around her, Rosabella could feel her breathing restricted by what she knew to be a corset, looking down a gorgeous crimson off the shoulder gown was wrapped around her frame, it was decorated with black lace accents and she was wearing black opera length gloves. Her makeup felt heavier than normal and her hair had been shaped into an elegant updo. The charm and awe of her new wardrobe was quickly replaced with the awkward and horrific thought about who it was who dressed her like this, and where her other clothes were for that matter. Unsure if this was a dream or if she had been kidnapped on the way to the grave site Rosabella looked around the tables at the people who seemed to be in an equally confused state. Her hunger was tempered by the fact that… well, she didn’t know where she was, why she was wearing these clothes or why she was here. Despite the mouth watering aroma that wafted from the plate in front of her, she tempered herself to see if she could get a feeling for what the hell was going on here…
