History

I have been on Gaia for many moons now (don’t let my current account creation date fool you!) I’ve pretty much explored all there is to explore and was looking for a way to get more out of my Gaia experience. So I created The Monster Squad Guild.

The Monster Squad Guild was a general chatter guild that well, was just all over the map. The downside is, life got in the way and when I couldn’t keep up with the guild I didn’t have anyone to back me up so it inevitably died.

One of the main ingredients to a successful guild is its members. Members are akin to the heart of the guild while the threads are it’s veins. In order for the blood to continue to flow, the heart must be stimulated. So, from the ashes of The Monster Squad and its random amblings rose La Légion Craftastique, a guild with a theme.

About

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that this is an arts and crafts themed guild. Why did I pick arts and crafts as the theme? Well, if I was going to be an active guild owner I definitely needed a theme that runs parallel to my own interests. I am constantly trying to find ways to express myself creatively in various fashions therefore, this is a wonderful opportunity for likeminded individuals to come together, express themselves creatively, support one another and gather strength through the arts.

As you can see, there are 12 subforums set up to represent different mediums as well as other points of interest:

*Line Art (All Mediums)
*Needle Craft (Crochet, Knit, Etc.)
*Fabric Craft (Quilting, Sewing, Etc.)
*Paper Craft (Collage, Origami, Scrapbooking, Etc.)
*Photography (All Formats)
*Metal Works (Jewelry, Sculpture, Etc.)
*Other (Ceramics, Screen Printing, Massively Mixed Media, Etc.)
*The Public Eye (Related Events, Meetups)
*General Chatter (Whatever’s Clever)
*Gaia Related (Self Explanatory)
*Employee Breakroom (Crew Only)
*Shameless Self Promotion (Exploit Your Shops Here!)

If you aren’t quite sure about where your post should go, feel free to ask! If you feel that your art form is underrepresented, start a thread and suggest a subforum!

Posting Rules

Of course I would like to direct your attention to the GGN Rules, the Gaia TOS and the Gaia Rules & Guidelines. These are the primary rules that ANY one Gaian should be aware of when interacting on the site or within the GGN.

As far as posting within this guild is concerned, all I ask is that people be respectful of one another. If someone asks for constructive criticism in regards to their work then please, offer constructive criticism.

Constructive Criticism - criticism or advice that is useful and intended to help or improve something, often with an offer of possible solutions.

This is an important definition because I feel that not enough people truly understand what it means. Ripping apart someone who has put themselves out on a limb for the sake of their art is not conducive to ANYONE’S creativity so please, refrain from doing so. This also goes both ways, if you ask for constructive criticism then expect to get just that. No need to get snappy or defensive because it is what it is: Someone else’s opinion and you can take it or leave it.
