On October 3, 2009, Staff Sergeant Tom Rabjohn was deployed in Afghanistan as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team Leader. Tom was killed in action when he shielded two soldiers from the blast of an Improvised Explosive Device.

A 100% of the proceeds will go to a college fund established for his 3 daughters.
The item is drawn with India Ink on archival acid-free Bristol board which is approximately 11 x 17 inches. The image was then painted in Photoshop. Gene is one of the top artists in the business and an item such as this cover quality piece this from the modern master is rare. The print is on 11 x 17 high quality paper.
The image is a picture of the end of Captain America's World War II. Captain America and his sidekick Bucky have leapt onto a Nazi drone missile. Captain America wasn't able to hold on, and will be frozen until he's revived in the 1960s. Bucky held on to disarm it's warhead, and is killed in the blast. The scene was written and drawn by Jack Kirby, an artist who fought in Normandy during WWII. In it's original telling it was just a short flashback, but it may be the most poignant scene in the history of Captain America. Cap may be acclaimed as America's greatest hero by others, but Captain America can always recall greater heroism from those who didn't make it back.
International bidders welcome. This item will be shipped priority mail and encased in masonite. Please check out my comicartfans gallery for future auctions.
