Apparently we get the largest annual Steampunk gathering in the world!
I went last year as well.
At least you know for next year, no?

What sort of stuff do they have there? I can't imagine what a steampunk fair would be like.
Here, we have a Japanese festival... we have a sister city in Japan, and a large Japanese community, so we have a cultural festival every year. It's pretty fun.

They have all sorts of neat panels and shows. There was a ton of music and dancing, too. Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band played all night until the cops showed up because of the noise on Saturday. And of course the vendors!  So much cool s**t to buy. Also, there is a steampimp. lol being a history minor I knew that somewhere someone would make a Steampunk convention using "worlds fair" somewhere in the title. Glad to see I was right. XD What is your favorite thing you bought from the vendors?
Lots of Steampunkers show up to my city's anime/sci-fi convention. It's a big all-in-one. lol My friend used to be part of a "crew" but it disbanded after the captain freaked out. XD
The only other festival we have is a pirate festival - which really has nothing to do with pirates. ;__; What an absolute shame.

I live in Tampa so we have a giant pirate invasion every year for Gasperella.
but I also go to tons of comic/anime conventions every year.
ohyeah and I'll be playing Quidditch at Leakycon in Orlando this July... sweatdrop
the IQA invited us as special guests to show people how to play so about 40 of us will be there playing.
I would looooovve to go to a steampunk convention.

I'll be moving to CA soon enough, so it'll be good to know conventions out there, though I'm totally for visiting NJ again just to come to this, possibly as a vendor myself. The favorite thing I bought is probably my feather boa. I managed to get it for only 5 bucks. Possibly the best 5 bucks ever spent.  The neat thing is that the convention is so young (only 2 years yet) so the vendors aren't so....mass-produced. There are some things you see EVERYWHERE but the amount of actual original art and pieces is really nice. That, and some people still charge reasonable prices.

It's terrifying. that does sound bad... did you know iceland has a phallic museum >.> its a museum dedicated to animal dicks where they turn the er testicles into lamps and put the er phallic things onto display e_e it sounds liek the worst place ever to go to on a vacation ¬_¬
