I love comics and manga so much that I made it my major in college. I will admit I'm not much into the mainstream comics but there are certain other things that I love. How about you? What are your favorites?

What are your favorites? Um, I really like the Get Backers Manga. I have a box of manga I am trying to get rid of (space issure and lack of my reading) of all sorts. I also like Saiyuki.

Hmm...Wow. xD It has been forever since I actually picked up a manga and just read. Lesse...I did like fruitbaskets mainly because I liked the funny situations and the fact that they turned into animals due to the curse. <3 Never finished reading it however, and I forget where I had left off xD

i just fell in love with a mangaka named natsume ono; i love her books ristorante paradiso, gente, and not simple. i also really love taiyo matsumoto's black and white. the first manga i read were bleach, saiyuki, and bus gamers, and i love them both too, but i got into manga late in the game, haha. i also LOVE dorohedoro!
as for comics, number one in my heart is the sandman or the endless series by neil gaiman. they were the first ones i got and i will love them forever and ever. i also really like fell by warren ellis and ben templesmith, and american vampire by scott snyder and rafael albuquerque. umm... geeze, what else, i love chew by john layman and rob guillory.

but OH MY GOD that would be amazing *___* i love neil gaiman, i really do i love his regular work as well, but sandman is a mind blowing comic series; it's so thought provoking and intelligent and just plain good. if you haven't read it, you definitely should. i looove warren ellis; i need to read some of his other things, but i love fell. sadly it only had nine issues but there's word of kicking it back up again, or there was like a year ago haha yeah... the ones i've listed are mostly image comics, which are a mainstream publisher, i guess, but not as big as dc or marvel by leaps and bounds. what kind of comics are you into?

Good to know they got much better! As for american comics I fell in love with Scott McCloud's Zot and David Mazzuchelli's Asterios Polyp
