We all know what this is for.
A good old OCC board.

Sky, if you read this, thanks for telling me about the photo in the French thread. I was sorting out my photo's to make them more organized. I can reply now to the French thread. Or make another character and start more roleplays, until someone else joins the roleplay. Also, if I have a student, there can be a few more roleplays going on.

You're welcome, Jenny. I kind of just have all of my roleplaying pictures everywhere, my album's quite unorganized. I should definitely learn from you.
Also, I'll be happy to make more characters if you'd like. I'll ask a few friends to see if they are interested in school-based roleplays.

It was a newer account so there wasn't all too many photo's. If it had a lot of photo's, I'd probably have just looked at it and went "fudge that."
You don't need to. I want to make a student anyways. I thought I'd make a teacher so we at least had one. This way I can get more involved in roleplaying. If you wish to ask a friend that's great. :3

One thing I need to ask, because I'm not really too sure how the educational system works at your end of the pond, but how does it work in regards to like age/grade/ and all that "freshman" rankings. All I know is Freshman are the youngest and Seniors are the ones about the graduate.

It's the same for me as well, I just dump it in the main folder. It's too much work for me.

Oh, I think I messed up the age in my profile. Sure but this is according to Canada only, not sure about US. Age always depends on birthday since school starts in September.
Freshman - Grade 9 - Ages 14-15
Sophomore - Grade 10 - Ages 15-16
Junior - Grade 11 - Ages 16-17
Senior - Grade 12 - Ages 17-18
Hope this helps.

Massively! Here we have Primary School and Secondary School.

Primary goes P1-P7, which is when you're usually 4/5-11/12
Then Secondary it is 1st year to 6th year, which you usually are 11/12 - 17/18, but as soo as you hit 16 you're allowed to leave, and not everyone stays on for the final year, like less than a 1/3rd do. I think this is why the country I stay in is very unintelligent compared to the rest of the world.

Wow, that's completely different.
Here we have Kindergarten to Grade 6 as junior elementary and Grade 7-8 as senior elementary. They are usually combined in one school though. High school/secondary school/collegiate institute is 9-12. My school is quite a hard-working bunch so we have as many 12s as we have 11s. We are so heavily discouraged to drop out of high school before 12.

It is totally different, and with roleplaying everyone uses grades. I got use to it for a bit, then I stopped role playing and poooof! Forgot. I realised all the characters will be mingling classes, which isn't very realistic. But it will have to do for now.

I completely understand, but I'll just avoid looking at the age and look at the grade. Maybe our school systems are completely different, but we can probably work around your concern about mingling classes.

In high school, we must complete 30 credits/classes. 18 are compulsory and 12 are elective. Elective classes are any art, music, business, language, social science, etc. classes that can be chosen and taken in any grade. As a result, we usually have a mix of grades in elective classes. Compulsory credits are your classes like English, Math, Science that you must take to graduate. Even then, we can mix grades because there are people who don't pass.
If that made no sense at all, I'll try to explain it differently.

sweatdrop I'm going to say it, I wish we had your school system. Ours works out different. We need to take English, PE, Maths and once science, but after your first year, you gradually start dropping subject, and we have a table, so sometimes you have to take something you hate or drop something you like, so then you wind up with an OK table, if you only hate like one subject then it works out perfect.

Those 4 subject are final, then you have to pick two between, History, Geography and Modern Studies. Two between, Computing, Admin and Buisness, and 2 between Art, Home Ec, Graphics, and Woodwork. But it can sometimes work out that you've taken all three computer subjects and one artistic one.Just depends on the table. You sit all those sujects for two years, Then in 5th year if you stay on, you need to take English, and then you pick 4 subject, but yet again, it's all down to the table, so sometimes you can pick a subject you hate. After Christmas you're allowed to drop one though. Then in 6th year, the totally optional year, the mimimum you can take is 3 subjects, if they are all advance higher.

I just think the world should have the same educational system. It would also help for children who start schools in different countries.

We also have no summer school, if you fail you fail. We also have no summer camps. I'm envious.

That sounds complicated. I can't imagine being in high school for 6 years, the drama and academic pressure will crush me.
Our education system better be good, the average family pays about 30% of our earnings in taxes alone for our education and health care benefits. First they cut out about 15% from a worker's income in workers insurance and taxes, then we have to pay 13% for each purchase we make. I'm not sure about other countries but Canada's taxes are harsh.
Yeah, but in a different country, there are different educational needs. You can't force a child to stay in school until they are 18 if their family is in desperate need of income. Nor can you give a student the freedom to pick 8 art courses in one year. I think that the choice or staying in school or dropping it is completely up to the individual to decide.

I don't even know the rates they take off taxes here.
They were trying to make it so people here couldn't leave before they were 18, but that totally tanked, just won't happen.

Man, I'm starting to roleplay in Barton Town, I haven't done that literally in about 5 years. Some people are just so vague when it comes to applications and rules.

I'm leaving high school in 2 years anyways, any changes Canada makes won't change me.

Ah, sorry. I just have no idea where I should post in the guild right now. If you'd like a request a character, I'll make another one.
I stopped roleplaying in Barton Town a while ago during middle school (8th grade-ish) since I was getting busy. A few years after, I started to participate in regular guild ones since they seem to be more organized and have committed people that actually know what they're doing. In general, that is.

I've looked at other guilds, but I can't seem to find any that suit me. I liked forums, like invisionfree ones, they were amazing, but once they were started, all the members wanted wanted admin abilities, so they'd make their own sited, try steal members, and a site would last 2 weeks.

You can make another character if you wish. I just wish the members would make a character, join roleplays or even make a roleplay. I made another character and roleplay anyways. I'll probably use that one a lot more because it can participate in classes, clubs and whatnot.

Hopefully when I get the banner and button done I can advertise a lot more. I know this is starting off slow which isn't exactly desirable. So I apologize.

Oh, yes, the fight for crew/vice status. I find that utterly pointless, how often are you going to use them in a small guild, really? I am selfish so if I ever make a guild, I'd keep all of the admin powers.

Maybe we need to attract more members? Quality over quantity though. (:

I completely understand. Allow me to assist you in the making of buttons! Please excuse my lack of photoshop abilities though.
